Great find for our end of the day after touring Mt Rushmore and heading to Sturgis for breakfast. Small, cozy cabin. Heated up quick. Bed was super comfortable and linens/quilt were clean and fresh. We arrived 8pm and Judith got us settled. Very friendly and helpful. We left early so didn’t use the kitchen but it looked nicely stocked. Shower was hot. We did need our own shampoo which I had. Glad they had a blow dryer. Older place but quaint and cozy.

Had a very quiet stay and the room was exceptionally clean. Really enjoyed my stay in the cabins and will definetly recommend this property to others traveling to the area. This property will be my choice always when traveling to South Dakota. The staff was great and very friendly. Five stars all the way around.Rooms: Very clean and beautifully decorated

I stayed for a couple of nights in mid-July and really enjoyed the place. Check-in was fast and efficient; the owner (and her sister) were super friendly and helpful as well. The room was incredibly clean and spacious; the bathroom was plenty big and had everything I needed for my stay. Add to this a fridge, and a small table (think I had a microwave too? can't remember, but pretty sure I did)... and it was pretty much perfect. The bed was insanely comfortable, as was the little loveseat in the room. Only downside was that the walls are a tiny bit thin and having brainlessly noisy neighbors on either side of the room can get a bit annoying, but that is no reason to dock the establishment on a review (it's more a mention regarding general noise level - between the highway and brainless, loud ninnies.. bring earplugs, and you'll sleep like a baby). No complaints! Great place. I'd stay again, and I'd recommend Ponderosa Pines to a friend.

Wonderful quaint place to stay in the Black Hills! The room was cozy and rustic, with soft and comfy linens and blankets. Judith and her family are very friendly and the care they show to their customers and property is top-notch. If we ever need a place to stay in the area again, it will definitely be here!

Me and my wife stayed for the fourth of July. It was our second time staying there but the first with the new owners. We enjoyed our stay the first time but absolutely loved the second visit with the new owners. Room was better than expected. You can tell the newer owners take pride in their establishment as it was much nicer than it was the first stay with the previous owner. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we can't wait to get back up there.

I don't write many reviews, so it has to be something really special for me to do this. The place is amazing. The British woman who checked us in was very polite. I loved just sitting on the porch watching deer walk around on the mountain across the road. I will stay at this place again if I find myself in the Black Hills.Thank you for letting us stay the night.

Sisters in charge were very sweet as well as helpful. Room #14 was beautiful as well as the porch huge porch. Only suggestion is if you love coffee like I do, pack some extra coffee grounds for your stay. Would stay here again!

Peaceful, conveniently located, easy check-in. Comfortable and clean rooms, well-equipped. Very cozy blankets! The only thing I didn’t like was the pillows. Would definitely stay here again, though!

We have stayed here twice, and both visits were extremely pleasant. Felt like home! All the appointments in the room in addition to the room itself were very nice! For me, there is an outside "park" with a firepit. I was able to enjoy the outdoors and my morning coffee by the fire while my girlfriend caught up on her beauty rest.We will continue to stay with you in the future! The price point is also a huge attraction. All in all a very peaceful and comfortable experience ✨️

Carol was amazing! She had to close the office early and couldn't show me to the cabin I originally booked (I am guessing it's hard to find), so she upgraded me at no cost. The cabin was excellent, cute and rustic. The blankets were really quality and kept me very warm. Additionally, I left something when I checked out, and Carol sent it to me. The package arrived the day after she sent it. Highly recommend this place and I hope you have the opportunity to interact with Carol.

Firstly, if you are looking for a 87 star luxury suite stay with butler, maid and 24/7 concierge, move on to a casino in Deadwood like Tin Lizzie. Now, if you are looking for a rustic stay in the woods, in your own clean cabin, owned and operated by the most fabulous of people, then book your stay here! Oh!...did I mention to bring your fur baby?!?! They, too, are loved and welcomed here! Judith and Carol are on your side and prepared to do whatever you need to make you welcome and comfortable. The grounds offer a picnic area with lights and music to celebrate your occasion or just to hang out, eat and drink. If you prefer a little more private venue, stay at your cabin! Each cabin has a grill and patio or deck to stay "home" for the night. We stayed in the original cabin #10. It was plenty comfortable for me, my wife and our super awesome pit bull, Kiki Lulu. The bed was comfy, lighting adequate, hot water for your shower, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, kitchen utensils, A/C and heat and a TV on the wall. I could not get a wifi signal, but my phone was roaming the whole time too so I will blame that on the mountains. You can't beat the location for the cabin vacation feel and the owners/staff are second to none! We will DEFINITELY stay here again! Indulge yourself in the best cabin stay the Black Hills have to offer! Thanks Judith, Carol and Dave!

Quaint little cabins right on the edge of town. They are rustic yet have been updated in a semi modern fashion and are decorated tastefully. Each cabin is equipped with features you might have not thought you would miss from home and others that are suitable for your cabin inthe woods experience.
