Best way to end the day at Mount Rushmore! Who knew the Mount Rushmore carvers had a baseball team? Somehow I missed seeing their uniforms, but the ice cream is a real treat! Flavors are fairly limited, how about some additions, like"carvers' favorite" with chunks to look like granite? Great price: two dips for $6.

The Thomas Jefferson ice cream is totally worth the calories. It's a vanilla but has a touch of salted Carmel taste. There wasn't a line for ice cream when we were there but based on the rope lines it looks like it can get busy! Fast service!

Extremely rude workers!! Opened at 11am and customers were ready to order. A woman worker comes out and yells at everyone in line that we shouldn’t be in line yet and we should not get in line until the open at 11, not before. Then the workers kept peeking out looking at the line and didn’t come out and even start until 5 after or so. If you open at 11 you should be ready and start taking orders AT 11! You’re working for a national monument where people come from around the world so of course there is going to be a line ready to order as soon as you open. We gladly walked out without ordering. Very few flavors and high priced ice cream is not worth supporting rude workers! They could use some serious training on customer service…

Damn good Huckleberry Ice cream. Pres Jefferson was first to create an Ice Cream recipe is USA so that meant I had to have some.

Portion is inconsistent. I ordered three ice cream and each one comes out to different portions. One was so small that I had to tell them to give me another scoop given the inconsistency. Other than that, the ice cream is good. I was disappointed that vanilla was sold out at 6:30pm.

Plain and simple the vanilla ice cream here is probably the best ice cream I have ever had. Could not believe what it tasted like, and I assume I will never have a vanilla ice cream like that ever again. The service was great too, soda machine was out of Diet Coke and an employee took care of it immediately.

Do you know what one tends to find on their pursuit of happiness? Ice cream! Come visit Mt. Rushmore, a (literal) pinnacle of patriotism and enjoy some legit Thomas Jefferson Vanilla Ice Cream. Protip: They take cards, have other flavors and sell a Thomas Jefferson Ice Cream recipe card for a buck! ?

*I have celiac disease and have to eat a gluten free diet my whole life. The gluten free menu items must be made safely to avoid any cross contact with gluten. My review is based on my dietary restrictions.*It is noted on the menu which items are gluten free. Good ice cream.I would ask staff to use a clean scooper and change their gloves.

Not the most generous portion of 2 scoops for $6 but very good ice cream... Praline Pecan and Moose Tracks!

This is the best ice cream you can find anywhere. I had a cone of salted caramel... best I ever had. It's as rich as any premium brand and generous on the caramel. If it wasn't 1,500 miles away I'd be there at least once each week. LOVE IT!

This is the place to go for a cool treat during your visit to Mount Rushmore. Similar to the adjoining cafe, this shop gives you a lot of ice cream (2 scoop minimum...and each scoop would be at least 2 times the size of a typical one scooper) for a very reasonable price ($6 as of this writing). They will even let you split the 2 scoops into separate containers so 2 can share. There are limited flavors (under 10), but are interesting (salted caramel, moose tracks...being the two that we ordered). The ice cream itself was good, but not great. It actually reminded me of Thrifty Ice Cream from our neighborhood Rite-Aid. But in a world renown location as Rushmore, it's a real gem.

I have no idea what the issue was the day we were there but they said they didn't have the TJ vanilla. How you going to be out of what is the draw for the place? The kids behind the counter could also use some brushing up on manners when dealing with customers. While we enjoyed our visit to the Rushmore Monument, we could have definitely skipped this spot and got just as good of ice cream else where for half the price.
