“I wish there were an option for more than five stars.In July 2023, we were in the State of Washington. While backing our motorhome, I caused the trailer we tow to jackknife. The tongue on the trailer caught the rear cap of our motorhome, causing it to separate on the driver side (see photo). I went online to find manufacturer-approved body shops that would be along our route as we continued our travels eastward. The first five shops I called could not see us for 4 to 6 months. The sixth body shop I called was Performance Paint & Body in Baltic, SD … 1,400 miles from where the incident occurred. They said they could schedule me within three weeks, however, I wanted to wait until I met them face-to-face to decide if that’s where we wanted our home on wheels to be repaired. Two months later, we pulled into performance Paint & Body, and met the people there. We were favorably impressed. They couldn’t get us in right away, but they did schedule us for three weeks out. We were staying with friends and family about an hour away, so we went ahead and scheduled the repair. We dropped off the motorhome yesterday, with the understanding that they would have the work done allowing us to drive off Friday morning. Today, almost exactly 24 hours after we dropped it off, they called and said that our rig was ready to go. Almost in disbelief, we drove out and saw that it was ready to go. Within 24 hours they had repaired the rear cap to its pre-mishap condition. The extra days that they had estimated was to allow for painting around the damaged area. However, the craftsmanship that they demonstrated afixing the rear cap to the motorhome was sufficiently superior to not need painting touchups. that saved us 20 to 25% of the original estimate. We are definitely impressed with the technical and mechanical abilities of Performance Paint & Body. Even more so, we are impressed with the integrity they demonstrated. Performance Paint & Body could’ve gone ahead with the painting touchups that had originally been quoted, delivered a rig to us this Friday morning, and we never would’ve known the painting really wasn’t that necessary. Instead, they finished reattaching the rear cap to the main body, stood back, and saw that it looked pretty good. They called us. We looked at it and agreed. We have family and friends within 100 miles of Performance Paint & Body who we will visit annually. If we need any other paint or body work done in the future, we will do our best to wait until we are near Southeast, South Dakota, so that we can take it to Performance Paint & Body.Service: Body & Trim”
