Central Bark West Columbia
2931 Augusta Rd, West ColumbiaCentral Bark is a special kind of business and they understand how much pets mean to their owners. It is a place that you feel like, "I get to bring my dog here!!". Our fella has many friends there and he looks forward to his one day per week. Even when we moved to Kershaw County, we make the trip one day a week so he can be a part of the CB experience. We board him there when we cannot take him on trips and you just won't find a more dedicated, compassionate, and caring staff for your dog.

Veterinary Care Center
2925 Augusta Rd, West ColumbiaI felt that Dr. Floyd provided excellent counseling today for treatment options for my chihuahua who had a large mass resection from the frenulum of her tongue about 10 weeks ago. The treatment was initially successful and after a short recovery she had about 6 weeks of excellent health. Options discussed today included surgery, oncologist consult, several pharmacological options and hospice. His options considered my dog’s previous history of intolerance for carprofen (similar to ibuprofen). He was obviously very busy, but he took the time necessary to explain all options with objectivity and empathy. I highly recommend his care.

Pet Sitting & Training
The Dog Wizard
132 Old Barnwell Rd, West ColumbiaWhen Donavan Canada showed up on my doorstep to train 10 year old Mama, I thought good luck with this buddy. She came from a rescue and had been brought back twice. Emotionally abused and was given specific instructions as to the direction to go with her. Her brother, Oreo was no help! Unconditional love and constant work could not stop her from running and her aggressive behavior towards small dogs was less than comfortable. Then came Donavan, our hero! His patience, kindness and expertise convinced Mama that she could trust and enjoy a walk without pulling her Ma's arm pits out. It was a miracle for me, Mama and Oreo. Trust me when I say this, she is a changed dog. To you Mr. D, I am eternally grateful!
Forever to thee, The Dog Wizard for having a caring, determined part of your Team, Donavan Canada

Au Dog Training
143 Quinton Ct, West ColumbiaWords do not adequately describe how much Craig helped us. We got our Vizsla the day before we found out we were expecting. We tried so very hard to train her ourselves but were left frustrated. We basically adapted our entire lives around her.Enter Craig. Craig taught us the correct way a dog should be trained. He set Harbor up with all the right tools so that she can be a member of the house not the queen of it.We are so so so thankful for our experience with Craig. It was really the best thing we’ve ever done as a family. Now Harbor enjoys tons of time off leash and has so much more “controlled” freedom than before.THANK YOU CRAIG!!

Barnwell Oaks Kennels
132 Old Barnwell Rd, West ColumbiaI have used this kennel for several years as I am very paticular about the safety of my pets. This kennel is fantastic. They took my beloved pets for us for a week vacation. They were very well taken care of. They provided a safe and secure environment. They treated them as if they were their own family. They are detailed orientated and careful listened to us about the needs of my pets. The staff are wonderful. Their cost are reasonable. They make sure that each boarder is up to date with their vaccines. They provide a great comfortable enviroment and you know up front what to except. I highly recommend this kennel. Keep in mind that you will need to book a stay somethimes weeks/ months in advance as this kennel is high demand.

PETSinc
300 Orchard Dr, West ColumbiaOur late dog was adopted as an adult, but we decided to adopt a puppy this time around. Caroline, Dajah, and Bob were tremendous help, and we brought our little peanut home in July. We took her to one of PETSinc's mobile vet sites (Lancaster, SC) a couple weeks later for her shots update and a nail trim. Taylor, Ron, and Dr. John were great! This past weekend, we noticed digestive issues with our little girl, so an appointment was scheduled at the PETSinc clinic (located at the shelter). Andy checked us in and took us to an exam room. The wait was less than 10 minutes until Skylar came in to ask the preliminary question for notes. She took the stool samples for diagnostic testing, and very shortly after, Dr. Murphy came in and did an exam, asked additional thorough questions, then went to check the lab results. Diagnosis: hookworm. Dr. Murphy suggested homecare options, then Skylar came to give our girl a dewormer dose. The vet clinic visit was thorough and timely.
We adopted our little peanut from PETSinc because we believe in their mission. We also have chosen to use their vet care services (both the mobile vet and vet clinic) because these services also support their mission. Additionally, consistency is key for developing history, so there was no question -- if we were going to adopt from PETSinc, then we would also establish our pup's medical history through their services. Thank you, PETSinc team, for not only helping us find our new peanut, but for helping take care of her as well.

Final Victory Animal Rescue
919 N Lucas St, West ColumbiaAshley and Michael were amazing through the entire adoption process!! Very communicative, thorough, and super friendly. They answered all of our questions and were quick to respond. We adopted Pokey, a young basset/beagle mix who is sweet as can be and we could not be happier. Pokey 100% fit her online description. Shout out to Hannah, who transported Pokey across multiple states and kept us informed every step of the way with text and photo updates. Highly recommend supporting and adopting from FVAR!
