If I could give 0 stars I would. Nobody is ever there. Even when there is someone there they are hiding in the back with the door locked and the lights off. Why do we pay for a PO box if there is never anyone there to give us our packages. There have been multiple complaints to the post master and they refuse to do anything about it. Don't waste your time at this post office.

I've always loved the old post office in Tamassee at the Daughters After the Revolution School (DAR school) but they not equipped for shipping at all. I usually go to West Union unless I'm running late then I go to Walhalla because they stay open until 4:30 PM. I really wish they would update the equipment at my local Tamassee Post Office. I still try the Tamassee Post Office every few weeks hoping they'll be able to ship some packages. The last 4 times I've stopped by there something is wrong with something and they can't ship packages. The card machine won't work or the sticker's won't print or no internet connection... That place has more problems than a 1937 Ford but I still love it even though I haven't got a package to leave there in 6 months

I moved to Tamassee in November 2015. My residence is on a private rural road. For the sake of security, I secured a PO Box at Zip Code 29686. I have not regretted it. Numerous thefts have occurred on the road simply because there is no one around to see anything. Hence, I never set up a roadside mailbox. As I am someone who relies on the mail delivery of prescribed medications, I find the annual price of my PO Box (currently $62 per year) is well-worth my peace of mind. Moreover, as I've became acquainted with the permanently assigned customer service reps working Tamassee over the years. Please know they are truly valuable assets to the USPS. Those that come from Salem on a sub basis leave a bit to be desired. Thank you.

Great location hidden (sort of) on the grounds of the DAR School the current street view doesn't show the post office! There is a small private road that leads up to the Post Office look for a small USPS sign if you are heading toward Salem it looks more like a drive way. Very friendly staff unlike some major Urban locations
Great for General Delivery if you're staying at one of the many Campgrounds and RV parks in the Oconee/Pickens area.
