One of my favorite hikes in the Upstate. Rigorous towards the end. You will get wet feet so plan accordingly.

My least favorite waterfall hike in the Upstate. The trail is hard to find in itself, you will walk through three fields before you find the markings for a trail. To get to the fields, you have to walk past a gate that has NRA stickers leading you to believe this is private property. The hike itself eventually turns into climbing rocks and fallen logs to get a small view of the waterfall. The pictures some of these reviewers have taken were likely from straying from the trail in order to get a closer look. Perhaps a tree was obstructing the rest of the trail but we went as far as we physically could with two dogs.

One of my favorite trails. It starts of easy but the last .20 miles you have to do some rock crawling through a gorge but that’s half the fun. It’s absolutely worth it to see this beautiful waterfall. You can also see it from afar if you have dogs or children that can’t make the climb. Your feet can get wet crossing a couple of creeks but they’re fairly shallow so I recommend hiking boots!

We were disappointed to find you need knee high boots to cross the first stream which is just a short distance from the parking area. After reading further reviews it sounds like you may need to cross other streams further up the trail. Will come back better equipped.

Such a cool little hidden gem! Trail is a bit hard because there are creeks you just cross but all can be solved by some waterproof shoes/boots. Hike is about 3 miles in total. Hike starts fairly different than others and may seem like you’re going the wrong but just keep going.

This is a fairly short 1.5 mile in and out located off a old forest service road. Be sure to read the history of this area. It includes Revolutionary War hero Andrew Pickens who had a house close to these falls, and fought battles against the Cherokee in the area. A few hundred years ago before America came to be, this area was back country Cherokee land. The hike is flat and family friendly up until the last 300 yards. You walk thru well groomed valley fields that cross multiple streams. You then travel old growth forest following the creeks up the valley. A few hundred yards from the falls it turns intoa gorge. Notice the old stone remains and rock tunnel ruins on the side of the trail. They appear to be the ruins of an old food storage tunnel or whats left of a milling or shining operation. The last few hundred yards lead up to the falls. You have to hop scotch multiple creek crossings and climb giant boulders to get to the base of the falls. My dog had a hard time here and it was quite dangerous after a rain. The climb is worth it. Amazing family friendly hike until the falls but you can view them from a distance.Great place to have a picnic in the valley fields, follow up with great hike and a history lesson.

The one thing that will throw you off about your visit to this trail head is that it is not official so when you get the directions it will take you to a point at the bottom of a hill to the right will be a gate and you’ll have to follow this location be careful because the path is not paved and it’s not clear but many of the directions well looked born if you want to go to the top of the trail head you will have to climb and it may be difficult to not a great place for babies maybe teens age of 16 and up

Wonderful waterfall, unlike most in the region, seems almost tropical? The bad parts are the walks through the tall grass/bramble (WMA food plots) meadows on there way the forest. Several river crossings, so waterproof boots and sure feet or shoes with good drainage are a must. Things get steep and rocky toward the falls, so be cautious in your foot placement as you walk the ridges toward the approach.

A great hike and even a more spectacular waterfall. Have waterproof shoes or be prepared for wet feet as you must cross a few streams.

This was not an easy trailhead to locate and the trail is not marked along the way. Luckily I went on a busy day and other hikers familiar with the trail were helpful. Your feet do get wet a bit crossing the stream several times along the way. You can't get up close and personal with this waterfall and that was disappointing. Enjoyed the challenge of this hike though.

Very beautiful waterfall. 3 mile round trip hike and it is a easy one. You have to cross about 4 small streams so be ready to get your feet wet unless you have waterproof hiking boots.

The waterfall is beautiful and tucked away in a valley. The trail is not recommended for beginners or clumsy. The hike is 3.28 miles round trip, and you will cross four creeks.
