I don't usually write a review but I agree if I could give this store a 0 I would. Totally un-helpful sales person. Four salespersons were sitting down on the bench inside and look bothered by us when we walked in. The salesperson that asked to help us had a rude tone. Yeah I know covid has gotten the best of us but a little professionalism goes a long way.

If I could give this store negative stars I would. The two salespeople that get a paycheck from there did not help me at all. I struggled with taking my device out of the case and told one of the salespeople that. She told me I had to decide if I wanted to break my new cover on my Ipad or get a sims card. No help at all trying to get it out of the case. The other salesperson changed my $118 cell phone plan to $160 because of inexperience. I had to ask for my discounts to be added back to the account and for a new balance. It took her five times to realize $118 + $8.50 is not $160, $156, $148, $132, or $128. I know math is not a strong issue with some but if you work in retail, you really should brush up on your math. Between the two of the salespeople, they could not even explain what was on the new plan. Instead, I was told to go read it over there on the wall or look it up on the website. I asked both the salespeople if they could tell me about the promo on Disney plus. Again, you go on the internet and activate. Really??? When I asked for their names numerous times they would not tell me instead they whispered and went in the back. I would have just put the complaint to the store manager but after going through the website and sitting on hold for 45 minutes waiting for assistance, I gave up and decided to write the review instead.

This must be the rudest, least helpful staff I've come across. Their response to every question is I can't help you with that, or you need to call customer service. So what are they there for? I even called corporate Customer service for assistance, they said the store should be able to assist me, they tried to call the store, and the lady at the store said, "We don't take those calls?" They need to be fired.

Horrible. Horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible place. Got me locked into a two year contract on a couple of "free" Verizon tablets because I didn't read the fine print. I recently relocated overseas and disconnected my account, asked the guy if I would need to pay anything else and he said, no, your account is paid up and will be disconnected on such and such date and there won't be any more charges, you are all set. Three months later, I now have a collection agency harassing me for a supposed $154 unpaid Verizon balance. Complete scumbag, shady business practices. I hope they get what's coming to them someday.

This is with no doubt the worst Verizon retail store I have ever came across. I have done a lot of traveling which at times has brought me to other Verizon stores throughout the States for various of reasons from questions to purchasing Accessories. The Verizon store in Sumter, SC has always disappointed me in every way. I have not been in the store one time where the average wait time has been less than 45 minutes. I have found that they are not very knowledgeable about different phones. As soon as you say you do not want a bundle or any accessories when you purchase the phone, they become somewhat rude. My experiences in this store has always sent me home disgusted that I have Verizon. I guess they feel that since the next closest Verizon store is in Columbia, by the time you drive there and back it is no big deal to make your customers wait. They will still get customers here because it is the only one in miles.

So. With the understanding that this is still a newer store (within the past 2 to 3 years?) it's pretty much a flawless shopping experience for your Verizon needs. Be it phones, accessories, or just some general technical knowledge. And it's a pretty large location with working display models to test out and get a feel for before purchase. I say near flawless because, while it's not their fault, they don't really offer the best prices around. I know that's a franchise controlled concept, but my interaction was with the store not the actual corporation. The price was a 50 dollar difference, online with another store (still Verizon service) vs. in Store/Online with Verizon. The phone was bought elsewhere, but set up and received add ons through the Verizon Store I'm reviewing. Confused yet? Anyway, while that seems like I should review something else... Verizon is what started it and made the sale. I got to get in store and compare my top three phones with actual hands on use. Plus the clerk working with me had a lot of useful information and was able to give me a few secrets/differences that you wouldn't notice on a quick touch and go. Even explaining how one of the phones I was interested in was about to go off market... or how a wireless charge kit affected the batter compartment on certain phones, or didn't exist for others. Small things that while you may be interested in, you didn't think to ask before purchase. So it was extremely helpful in putting me on track for a phone I really like and enjoy using (plus use a lot!). Even after buying the phone through a competitor, the Verizon store was still extremely helpful in getting me set up with service. Showing me how to access great (user hidden) features, transferring my contacts and pictures from one phone to the next, etc. It was very helpful, and again, customer focused. I would definitely recommend you checking this store out for your future Verizon needs (new or upgrade). I don't think you'll be disappointed with their selection, or great customer service.
