They're closed Sundays and the selection of cars is slim. Also they have very wonky hours and be mindful that even if you reserve a certain car, you more than likely will not get that car as they will have given it out to someone else. Twice now I've rented a small car as I'm short and they have given me large vans each time. It's the only enterprise in the area so you're kind of stuck. Also on the last visit, I reserved a small car and I got a van but one of the guys who works there, one of his buddy's strolled in with his lady friend from off the literal street and got a small car. I overheard their conversation and he did not have a reservation. If ever I need a rental, I will make the drive towards Columbia.

They are really getting expensive. They don't give no discount for longer terms. It's only a daily rate multiplied.

They messed up my date to pick my car up and then tried blaming their mistake on me. it’s clear they can’t own up to their mistakes or problems considering i’ve seen this happen to more than just me on the reviews. Don’t have a car ready for me when the date was clearly set. Incompetent people and terrible service. wouldn’t recommend considering i’m not the only person who has had this issue. don’t even know how they’re still in business but i guess that’s how south carolina likes to run their businesses

I tried to reserve a vehicle and completed all the steps. I confirm the vehicle with the representative but on the day of pickup, my vehicle is no longer available and it was given to someone else. I called and complained the situation and have not received any communication out of it. I have had multiple issues with this branch. If I had the ability I would go to the airport in Columbia. It is just sad this is the onl one in Sumter. It definitely ruined my plans and no effort was made after the fact.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. Hard to deal with even through insurance. People can come in off the streets and get a rental but somebody hardworking that’s goin through insurance to handle it to get a rental and they want me unprofessional and leaving u hanging. If I could leave 0 stars I would the whole staff should be fired

## Absolutely appalling experience at Enterprise in Sumter, SC - Avoid at all costs!**Enterprise in Sumter, SC:** This isn't just a rental car location, it's a masterclass in **incompetence, negligence, and utter disregard for customer safety and satisfaction.** Buckle up, because my recent experience here was a bumpy ride from start to finish.**Safety concerns ignored:** I arrived with a mid-size SUV flagged by roadside assistance for safety issues. Cameron, the "supervisor," confirmed the problems and declared the vehicle undrivable. Instead of exchanging it as instructed by roadside, he handed me a sticky note with a **service shop address.** and told me to drive the vehicle to said address… After agreeing that said rental vehicle was not drivable. Apparently, in Cameron's world, sending a customer with confirmed safety concerns on a wild goose chase is standard operating procedure.**Zero on the ground, zero care:** Despite a full parking lot, recent rentals being turned in, and a seemingly stocked back inventory, Cameron claimed they had **"zero vehicles."** This wouldn't be so unbelievable if he hadn't spent 20 minutes magically conjuring up a **Nissan Versa (think clown car, not SUV)** I politely declined due to the amount of luggage I had, but apparently, not Cameron's problem.**A Versa-tile nightmare:** The "offered" Versa reeked like a chain-smoker's ashtray, sported cigarette burns galore, and boasted a whopping **68,000 miles.** As I pulled out, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree on overdrive. I immediately returned to Enterprise and informed them of the service slights (shown in the photos). Cameron's solution? Keep driving. Because apparently, in his book, **service lights are just festive decorations.****Enterprise doubles down on dumb:** I called roadside, who also inexplicably deemed the Versa "fine." But hey, at least they acknowledged the oil change was due **soon (in 6,000 miles, not 4,000 as Cameron claimed).** This, folks, is the level of automotive negligence you can expect at Enterprise Sumter.**Escape to sanity:** Finally, I found another Enterprise location hours away willing to exchange the Versa for a proper SUV (as per my original booking). Unfortunately, they would be closed by my arrive time and would be stuck in this Versa until the next morning. Let this be a lesson: **avoid Enterprise Sumter like the plague.** Cameron and his team are the poster children for **negligence and unprofessionalism.** Your safety and sanity are worth far more than the headache they'll give you.**Spread the word:** Share this review, warn your friends, and let everyone know: **Enterprise Sumter, South Carolina is not where you rent a car, it's where you rent trouble.****P.S.** I have attached images of the Versa's festive dashboard for your viewing pleasure (and safety concerns).**TL;DR:** Enterprise in Sumter is incompetent, unsafe, and doesn't care about you. Run, don't walk, to another location (or another rental company altogether).I hope this review helps you avoid the nightmare I experienced at Enterprise in Sumter. Remember, your safety and peace of mind are paramount, and this location is sorely lacking in both. Choose wisely, and happy travels!

I had to put my car in shop dealership wouldn't let me drive it home. I called enterprise and they was able to put me in a rental at the last minute with no reservation. Staff was friendly and helpful no problems.

You’re better off on Turo or going to Columbia.Booked a car a little after midnight. Military and just got in town made sure I got here and wouldn’t cancel.Show for the reservation at 11:30am. Was told there were no available vehicles, and that there would be some available at 4. Came back at 4pm and was told to wait 25 mins and “see what we can do”They kept repeating a made up policy on same day booking. Unhelpful is an understatement. Enterprise is a good company but this location is terrible.(I can’t wait for the canned “sorry for the inconvenience” reply to this) even more unhelpful.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the website states that they will pick you up and they claim at the store that they no longer do this, which is not very helpful if your primary mode of transportation is in the shop being repaired necessitating a rental vehicle.

Enterprise has been taking great care of me for the past few months. They go above & beyond to make sure my needs are met. Each one of them has helped me individually & I appreciate them!

This was the worse experience of my life with this location and company - if I could have given them no stars - I would have ! I reserved a car last week to go away for a small get away - the short black guy at the Sumter location greeted us disgustingly - we told him we rented a car last week and he said whelp there’s no cars left - we tried to call you, but there’s no information in the system (LIES) - there’s nothing that can be done and I don’t have anything to say but here’s my business card keep us in mind for your next trip ! heck no ! Literally went in circles trying to transfer our reservation else where - just to be told “there’s nothing that could be done” we called corporate , they told us “oh this place has a car available” we called Lugoff and guess what ! NOTHING! We called the location in Florence just for him to transfer to customer service - she told we can call the enterprise at the airport because they had cars available- we spoke to the lady and she’s tells us there’s nothing here - so how does the system sounds availability but there’s really nothing there . We called corporate back and the lady was nice but couldn’t even offer us any forms of credits or points - it’s very funny how a lady did a review and said the exact same thing happened - shut this place down

Only giving 1 star because I can’t give 0. My father in law booked a car through the website and got the confirmation email. He got dropped off to pick up the car and was told there was not a car available. He showed them the confirmation and was told there was nothing they could do about it. He is in his 60’s and has a heart condition and was left standing outside for over 2 hours. Not a single person attempted to help find a solution to this problem or help get him into a rental. Even after another customer was told she could “have her choice of cars”. If one customer has a choice, how is there not one single car in the whole parking lot for him to rent? There were also multiple cars that got returned during the time he was there waiting to be picked up. Employees were VERY unprofessional, rude and unhelpful. After multiple attempts to get in touch with management, the phone calls have not been returned. None of the employees or managers from enterprise in Sumter have tried to correct this or make it right. We ended up going through enterprise in Florence and had a much better experience. Never again will we try to use the Sumter location. If you are renting a car, the drive to Florence is definitely worth it and has much better customer service.
