Went by to see the place my husband and I got married at 36 years ago and was met with a HOSTILE man who told us to get off the property. We are from out of town and saw a billboard advertising the property and there were no signs posted that this was private property or closed. EXTREMELY RUDE encounter. I wonder if the owners know this man is managing the property like this? Who is paying for the billboard advertising and why if patrons are unwelcome? Is this just a set up to make this beautiful place a tax write off? Did they pay this awful man to keep people away? Until management changes, stay away.

I called multiple times to request pricing and availability for my wedding. Long story short, the older gentleman said he did not know when and how much pricing for weddings would be and to call back later next month (our conversation was on 7/25).I asked him if he would take my contact information and he said that he “had enough responsibilities already”.Extremely rude and unprofessional.

We stayed here over the Christmas Holidays in 2006. Very much enjoyed our stay. I know our neighbors did not as we had our toddler daughter and dog with us. The staff were very accommodating however, and served us all our meals in our room. We were there to see the sites down in Charleston so we were generally only there in the mornings and evening. Beautiful place.

My heart was dead set on this place for my wedding venue before even seeing it in person. I called 6+ times and made myself patient enough to wait for the event coordinator to speak to me on multiple occasions.

I would not recommend this place at all. We tried to make an appointment to view the property for a wedding venue and the man (who wouldn’t give us his name) was so unbelievably rude to the bride and to myself when I called on behalf of the now upset bride. He insisted that we could only have the appointment we were given, even though it did not work for the bride, because he was “tired of us”. He also wanted to know why if it was so important could we not make the appointment (because people have to work?). I was very polite on the phone trying to get to the bottom of this and he would not let me ask any questions and said he did not need “a lecture from the likes of you” when I calmly asked why he was upset. He finally told me he guessed we could change the appointment but we couldn’t speak to him today and he hung up. This is not how you do business. Neither the bride not myself were rude, if you would like to make that decision, I have a lovely recording you can listen to.
