I don't know if it's new ownership or what, but this establishment apparently feels the need to resort to shady business tactics. This is the third time I've bought a vehicle from this place because my past experiences have been generally positive. But it will be the last. When looking online and providing all of the details of my potential trade-in, I immediately received a call from "Summerville Ford" saying they would give me at least $9,000.00 for my wife's 2015 Escape. Again, I provided all the details about the Escape, mileage, condition, etc. "Oh yes," I was told, "we'll give you at least $9,000.00. Just make an appointment." So I did, Because I'm brand loyal, I went out of my way to go to Summerville Ford. Funny thing, when I get there, "oh, that wasn't us that called you; it was corporate." And I was offered $5,000.00. Classic bait-and-switch. I could not get the $9,000.00 originally offered. Unfortunately, I caved. Then, a week later I get a letter from GM Tony Rodriguez offering me $500.00 above the trade-in value of my vehicle. So, I called Mr. Rodirguez and explained my experience and ask how I can receive the $500.00 additional payment. He says no. I explain to Mr. Rodriguez about the bait-and-switch tactics and he says, "That's not bait-and-switch." These are not my words, but if one conducts any amount of research, bait-and-switch is generally defined as follows: "Bait and switch is a fraudulent activity whereby a company advertises goods at an incredibly low price with the aim of substituting for them with inferior or pricier alternatives at the time of purchase." To pretend that offering a high price for a good and then offering much less once you're in the "store" is not bait-and-switch is disingenuous, at best. Like I said, I caved. But others do not have to find themselves in this situation which is why I am writing this review and will never go back to Summerville Ford. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. My name is Jim and my cell number is 803.446.6811.

I'm a NY transplant 5 yrs ago. I've bought 4 cars in the local area, all from different dealerships. Summerville Ford has been my worst experience. If you want down and dirty to help put you in a better position for negotiations, or for advice, see last few paragraphs. To really be educated, read on. - 2007 Tundra, local small dealer, great experience. We closed the deal in his dining room, amazing vehicle. -2011 BMW X3, McElven, good experience, car not so great, but I still own vehicle -2018 Nissan Rogue, Hudson Nissan, Great experience, great car -2021 Ford Ranger, Summerville Ford, horrible experience, and on day one, questioning reliability. I will add to this review if Leland, the MX manager is able to correct the shudder in 1st gear. Leland gives me hope that my experience will improve. - I want this review to better prepare folks who are planning to purchase a vehicle at Summerville Ford. I was caught off guard and not prepared. I signed the paperwork, so I totally own what was done to me. 1. Advertised price is not the price they use for negotiation - Online price was 29,900 with a clickable rebate of 750, which I downloaded -During negotiation, rebate was not in the calculations -Approximately $2400 was added to vehicle price for negotiation because they had vehicle detailed, and they provide lifetime warranty for powertrain through third party. Issue here is that those 2 items were not negotiable. The car was already detailed, and the warranty is provided on used cars at Summerville Ford. All good ideas, but because those items are not negotiable, a reasonable person would assume those items would be in the advertised price. The advertised price is what I used for comparison between dealerships. 2. Trade-in calculations border criminal, but are honestly deceptive. - For the vehicle you are buying they use every tool on JD Powers to maximize price. The 2021 Ranger has a large dent on the driver side door worthy of insurance repair, and noticeable shudder in transmission in lower gears. When selecting condition to value car, these would be considered "minor damage" and mechanical issues, yet excellent condition is how they evaluated the Ford Ranger -For my trade, 2007 Toyota Tundra, KBB trade for good, not excellent, trade was @5200 They used JD Power, fair condition or less, and THEN they deducted for faded paint on one area, and brakes needed replaced. NOTE: When you select anything other than Excellent for vehicle condition, those deductions are ALREADY in the lowered evaluation. So they deceptively lower the value of your trade by dinging you twice. - Summerville Ford also had a clickable $1000 dollar over the value, offer for your trade - was not used in any calculation- more deception. 3. Going into the dealership here are the honest and fair numbers I showed up with ---29, 900 - 750 rebate=29,150 ---29,150 - 4000(assuming lower than KBB for trade)= 25,150 25,150 - 1000(dealership incentive on trades) = 24,150 24, 150 + @ 1100 taxes and title = 25,250 Their starting numbers with trade were above 30,000. KEY TAKEAWAYS -Assume online pricing is off by thousands, and not in your favor- although they demean you by saying you missed it by not reading fine print. If they were proud or being honest, it would be much clearer. -Make sure if there are incentives, especially $1750, make sure it makes it into calculations. - Make sure your trade is evaluated fairly. Don't get devalued twice. Know what the selectable "vehicle condition" specifies and includes. LASTLY, dealerships in general sell and buy vehicles daily. They will always have the upper hand. You and I need to know the dealers who don't "abuse" this fact, and those who do. In my opinion Summerville Ford clearly abuses this fact. Im still hoping Leland will come through for me. In comparison, Hudson Nissan operates with transparency and integrity. No games, nothing hidden. McElven close behind them. Hope this helps and good luck. V/R Michael DelGiacco Jr.

Recently purchased a used 2013 ford f150. Although the service was great at the time(duh I was giving them my money) I started experiencing issues with the vehicle about a month in. There is a recall (TSB 13-6-8) in 2013 and a recall for power train back in 2019 for the F-150's. I'll be cruising along going 40-50 mph when it suddenly downshifts without warning and locks the back tires up, RPMs spike to 5 or 6, and speedometer goes blank/0. The truck will start violently lurching and skidding. I have to coast to the side of the road or highway, turn it off, then turn it back on, and pray it runs fine again. But of course no wrench or engine light will appear despite this. This has happened over 10-15 times in 2 months. The worst part is you never know when it'll happen either. The truck had the recall done by previous owner, but obviously did not get it properly fixed. As everything described in the recall is still happening. This is where I have a problem. Ford Summerville has given me the run around, they keep sending me to different people, with no urgency to the matter. Despite this affecting my safety when I drive. I have taken it to a different Ford garage but again, no answer from them. I made a case with Ford, but didnt like their answer as it was just another loop around. I'm just going to trade it in next week, this has been a huge disappointment. Their product is affecting my safety yet they do nothing... To end this rant, if you look on online forums about this issue on the recall, other people are experiencing this problem, and aren't getting answers from Ford. It seems Ford is trying to sweep this recall issue under the rug, not wanting to deal with the fact they ACTUALLY didn't fix the recall. For-warning when buying a Ford product. Not only disappointed in Summerville Ford but the company in itself. I won't stay silent about this either.

So unfortunate that this has to be rated a one star, but it needs to be told. 1. Beware of the extra service charges that are added onto your already high overrated repair cost. From you need a battery to windshield wipers. 2. Whether you have an appointment or not, twice it took 9 days to complete. Trying to call and get a response was limited to a few text messages and no return phone calls. I was told they had the parts to fix it, therefore why did it take so long? 3. Two tune-ups in one year, $1,200 dollars later now, I have a bad coil and valve sensor they wanted over $900 dollars to fix that. Within the last year, service has been deteriorating.

My car was in a really bad accident and was deemed a total loss. I previously bought 3 other cars from ford, so I called them right up. Grant (sales) and Theresa (manager) without hesitation we're more than helpful and very very understanding to my situation. When I got there Grant was a little busy so he had Amber help me who was wonderful as well we sat and talked about a lot of different options and ways to make things affordable. Needless to say they had me in a car the day after the accident which was amazing and I can't thank them enough they are a pretty amazing team of people and that's why I choose to always go back to Ford! Thank you sooo much Theresa, Amber, and Grant!

Made an appointment, presented an hour early, two men at computers were idle, I gave my name an indicated a 2:00 appointment. The younger guy said the appointment was not with him! Hunh?? It was with a female and he did a thumb over the shoulder to move on back! The female asked a bunch of ridiculous questions. All I needed to hear was, we will check your car out and let you know!! But she said "I repeat," as if I was a dummy. She pushed my hot button, and went to get the lane manager, who responded as if my not responding to inane questions was a requirement; and I needed to acquiesce and answer up!! I left! Enough of that treatment! Did speak to Dealer Manager, and Service Manager, but left with an explanation that they had more work than they had technicians (mechanics in my era)! Forget customer service! It is non-existent! Did make complaint with Ford Motor Company!! We'll see !

Really want to try to keep this short and to the point. Just ask for ANY service advisor except for Julie. She has Turkey mastered the "bless your heart/nice nasty" of the south. Completely unresponsive. Tried calling from my number, associated with the vehicle and clearly my name on caller ID. Would not answer. My fiancé calls and she answered on first ring. I had to dial in over a dozen times before Julie passed my call off to a gentlemen. The gentlemen did do his best to provide an update, not with any details or real ETA except "by end of day" which is what I was told the day before when I dropped it off. I'll unfortunately have to return for some recall work when parts come in. They report Ford is only giving them 3 of these replacement parts a week and they cannnot provide an ETA on when my parts would arrive. Seems like pretty simple math too me: how many vehicles are waiting on those parts divided by three equals how many weeks I should be waiting. Just generally unprofessional and bad business/customer service practices. Maybe the fact that they work out of a trailer with an awning after 5+ years should have been my first hint to try to avoid.

These people have started adding a $620 admin fee to a transaction.Be careful and read the paperwork carefully. Ask what all the fees are on the invoice.

I only visited this location to complain about an employee. I had followed behind on a golf cart. He pulled into the spot in-between two handicapped parking spots in the golf cart. Being a handicapped placard holding I was going to park in one of those spots to go into a store. When I said something to him...in his Summerville Ford shirt he practically ignored me and never apologized. So, I waited for my daughter to finish her business in the store and we went to speak to someone who worked at Summerville Ford. While the man was telling me "he apologized on behalf of Summerville Ford not the individual" the man who had been driving the golf cart had been summoned from the break room by a lady at the front. He walked behind the man I speaking to and proceeded to say I "could've gotten cussed out" for telling him he shouldn't park there and I "walked across the parking lot fine." He went on to say I had no right to complain and didn't have anything better to do than disturb their "flow of business." What I DID have the "right" to do was park in one of those handicapped parking spaces. Everyone there BUT the man driving the golf cart and the lady who had retrieved him from the break room apologized. I was honestly shocked. The young man working at the store we visited said them parking their golf cart there was a normal thing. So, I am not the first handicapped person that someone driving a golf cart for Summerville Ford has prevented from using these spaces. I do plan on emailing the company but I'm pretty sure the General Manager for that location was out there and witnessed his employee acting this way.

I had been searching for a new 2022 Ford Shelby GT500, limited production vehicle and came across one available at this dealership from out of state. I called early Saturday and had been connected with one of their sales consultants, Andrew N, and he had confirmed the vehicle was available and was going to send me an email with pricing information on a work sheet approved along with from his manager to review and sign. I ended receiving the pricing information after the dealership closed late that evening and after reviewing, my disappointment with these people was an understatement. Not only was the MSRP adjusted for almost an additional market adjustment of $30,000, it included a couple thousand dollars in aftermarket items which I didn't request, additional Destination & Delivery $1695 which was already included on the MSRP window sticker, and their additional fees. I realize it may be a limited production vehicle, however, there are the majority of other Ford dealerships who are selling for way less than here. I reached out today to my sales consultant along with and provided their document containing crossed off of their undisclosed items. I did receive an response email that the vehicle had been sold yesterday. Purchasing a car is has never been a challenging experience until this weekend. It would have been nice to do business with them for the vehicle they had to personally enjoy. In general, it's true in today's market, where the availability of new and used cars are at a low, dealerships such Summerville Ford exemplify with engaging in unfair and deceptive consumer pricing practices. Before purchasing a vehicle from here, do your research, including their ratings and feedbacks from other customers.

So my daughter wanted a new vehicle and we went to this dealership! From jump we were greeted by Paul by unfortunately he was with another customer so he put us in the capable hands of Yolanda.. who worked with her and got her into the vehicle that she needed and one that is safe for her and my granddaughter! Elvis (yes he's still alive) in the finance department explained things in a way that she understood and they all were genuinely helpful and kept it REAL! So if you're ever in the South Carolina, Summerville area and you're looking for a great place to purchase a new or even used vehicle please come and check them out! They will work with you and get you on your way!
