I'm usually happy with the programs offered by YMCA in other locations but this one leaves little to be desired. The swim lessons were a huge waste of money. We signed my son up for a months worth of swim lessons only to have majority of the classes cancelled due to weather. Which I understand is out of their control. The issue I have is these classes are not made up or refunded in anyway. So basically, you pay for services not rendered. Attempting to get any kind of communication from them is next to impossible which is very unprofessional and only makes frustrating situations more frustrating.

I had a membership here for a whole year. I never used it once. It’s impossible to come if you have kids because it will be a scheduling nightmare for you to work out. The childcare was always full and wasn’t worth the hassle. On top of that, their lack of compassion for their members is very disappointing. The YMCA I came from would call you and check to see why you’re not using your membership or what they could do better. They never did this here, they didn’t care as long as they were getting paid and when I questioned them about that, their response was we sent you emails. If you don’t have any kids, and you find the value to be greater than other gyms, then this is the place for you.

This is about all YMCAs in America: such a blessing to have you guys. Best non profit organization ever. Truly caring for all people. Doing the very best to keep people healthy: mind and body. *****

During an active shooter situation today, the pool staff stayed calm and professional. They kept us up to date and moved us to the child care center who also did a great job securing everyone, remaining calm and professional. GREAT JOB!

I wanted to give this YMCA 5 atars so bad!!! But the lack of compassion for members who pay $75 a month for the past 5 years is insane to me! As a Monday-Friday worker I saigned up for this place to take my daughter swimming on the weekends….EVERY single weekend there is some kind of “PRIVATE PARTY” and the pool is closed!!!! It is January 2023 and I couldnt take 1 saturday or sunday without the pool being open for only hour before it closes for a private event!!! I have given this place $5,000 over 5 years and they frequently have these parties even though it isnt posted on the schedule so you drive all the way there for nothing! Are you kidding me YMCA? Really shameful in that regard

Their hours were very difficult for us to work within. We never got a chance to use the pickle ball court. The cancelation policy requires you to be there in person 10 days before the end of the month, or else you get charged for another month. This is antiquated & burdensome.

If I could give zero stars I would! This place DOES NOT care about your child. They care about your money. There's wait-list all over so who cares if they expel a couple of disabled children because (per their own policy) they can't give any extra attention to any child. It's a free for all mad house. The kids get no attention, when they speak up about being slighted or bullied they are ignored, absolutely no accomodations will be gives, as well and no effs. Buyer beware

We went to an event and signed up for the membership based on the programs that they said they had. Once we came home and looked at the programs everything was full and there was not anything open. They had open swim which is not something we need. We called and cancelled the next day. With much back and forth they are refusing to give us a refund. We should not be paying for a membership for service they are not able to provide. At the event they should be disclosing that their programs are extremely limited and full so they are not charging their customers for programs they cannot offer. People should be aware of this when signing up at events.

We had a family plan and used to visit the gym regularly with our children, we hated the schedules though, always closes so early and opens late, weekend schedules are the worst… also never got to use the pool because cannot handle the strong smell of Clorine inside the building and the old paint in the pool makes it look green, not appealing… We were also disappointed because I signed up and used to take my 8 year old to yoga class with me as well, he was always on point and NEVER caused trouble, until one day, the wrong person was at the front desk and suddenly there is a liability issue with kids under 10 joining the classes…. That day we changed our membership to single because I thought I could continue to join the yoga classes (which are really nice) and my husband went back to his 24/7 gym. It’s been around 2 months and because of the difficulty with the times of class I haven’t been able to come back, yesterday I decided to terminate my membership and was told that the Y asks for a 10 day notice , so now they will charge me for another month because I was 8 days before my next payment… wondering what the need is to charge me for an extra month when I haven’t even logged in to use the gym since we changed our membership… not like it’s cheap either!

Discriminate pricing based on age. And priced for the elite. Make sure you are apart of right group and income bracket to join.

I signed my daughter’s up for swimming lessons last year July-October 2021. I paid out of pocket and turned swimming vouchers in. I was informed that I would be reimbursed. I turned vouchers in at the end of September 2021. I’ve never had to call so many times to inquire about money that is owed back to me. I gave them a month. No one contacted me or followed up. I reached out on November 9, 2021 and was informed by Susan she would forward to the appropriate person since everything was submitted. On November 10, 2021 I was informed to allow 7-10 business for processing of my refund. Ymca is full of it. I received nothing within their processing time. I followed up yet again on December 1, 2021 still not getting my reimbursement. I was informed that Jill the supervisor would follow up with me in regards to the process. I guess Jill didn’t care because it wasn’t her money, no follow up or explanation was made. On December 3, 2021 I received a partial refund not even one full swimming lesson fee for one of my daughter’s. How in the world they came up with that amount is still unclear to me. I reached out again that day trying to understand where was the rest of reimbursement. I ended up having to call multiple times leaving messages, being transferred back and forth with no results. I reached out to the CEO Joe. He followed up with me a week prior to Christmas 2021 and informed me that they could get a check sent out to me. It’s February 7, 2022. I still haven’t received anything. I’ve contacted Joe once in January 2021 and most recent being February 4, 2021. I have yet to get a call back. THIS YMCA LOCATION IS UNORGANIZED, LACKS EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS, DOES NOT HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE BARGAIN. I paid out of pocket for my girls swimming lessons and turned around and submitted vouchers that covered swimming lessons. The YMCA GAINED DOUBLE. The only person who lost out was me. They received two form of payments and it was only one service provided. I reviewed a partial refund that did not equal to one full swimming lesson payment. I want the rest of my money!!!

I am very disappointed in the YMCA flag football program. It is a one person show and a one coach organization. Meaning there is one coach who works for the YMCA who stacks each of his teams for each age group ensuring they win every game. This same coach also comes along with parents on the sidelines who yell constantly at the coaches, children, and refs. I can't think of a more discouraging atmosphere for children who wanted to pick up a fun activity. From witnessing the behavior at games you can see that the children playing are being taunted, yelled at, and ridiculed. I don't think this program is what the YMCA stands for. A positive, uplifting, community atmosphere is no where to be found.

I have recently rejoined after many years, primarily to use the Downtown Pool and participate in a few classes. So far I"ve enjoyed the classes. Sadly the pool needs some serious maintenance. It is very rundown and appears to not have had much done to it in the last 10 years. Such a shame.
