For our last trip to the area, we stayed in the nearby Courtyard and were not happy. Even though this is also a Marriot property, we liked it much better. The rooms had the proper ammenities, the breakfast was satisfactory, and the hotel was clean.Rooms: The rooms are big enough for our needs. The kitchen had what we needed.

Going to sum it up……. Absorbed worst Marriott ever and it includes the manager Ciara! Paid almost $1000 for my stay and got the worst experience ever. I have complained to the staff and manager everyday concerning no housekeeping. We were told each day that housekeeping was coming and no one showed up! My husband and I waited around 4:30 pm everyday for them to show, to no avail! The last night I complained again to Ciara about receiving housekeeping and she kept promising they will show up and the did not! She claimed if she knew I was at the point to only wanting my bathroom done she said she would have done it. I told her it was my last night and it was after 5 pm it made no sense! She promised to take something off my bill and she did not! Then I approached her the day I was leaving and she turned around and say she could not take anything off my bill but will give me 20k points…. after getting her to move up from 10k she wanted to give. Well she lied about that too. She is a liar! Here it is 10 days later no points. I made a complaint to corporate and they promised some kind of response in 5 day….. here it is 7 days no response! I would of recommend this location to NO ONE! Rooms are dirty and poor management! And apart from this I had to practically beg for complimentary water, sad!

This our second stay. Our front desk host has been the same person so far each stay. Trey is awesome. Not only has been very informative when we call with detailed questions beforehand, he personally brought us a pan because we didn't have one in our room (understanble) things get misplaced. He never treated us like we are a bother to him, and was always polite. Once again shout to Trey. If I could go e him 5+stars I would.

Big rooms! The breakfast is quite monotonous. There is a bar but it is not open. Located on the busy Main Street.Rooms: Quite spacious rooms with every comfort.Nearby activities: Quite a few beauty houses in the immediate area. As well as quite a few dining options.Safety: My sense of security was relatively great. I went out for a jog late at night with peace of mind.Walkability: There are good walking/cycling paths all around. Usually quite well lit too.Food & drinks: Sufficient choice in the immediate area.

So the only reason I’m giving more than a 1, is the area and room itself is pretty nice. (When things work)I travel for work on behalf of my company and spend anywhere between 5-10 days a month in Charleston, and I stay at various Marriott hotels in or around the area as I like their housekeeping schedule better than Hilton. The area of Summerville is actually very nice and I enjoyed my time in the area, and the room structure of the hotel is also good. But that’s the end of the good things here.First off, not a major issue, but there were lights burned out in the room I stayed at, primarily in the bathroom. I notified hotel staff on the 2nd day of my 6 day, 5 night stay, and was informed maintenance would be up to fix it. No one ever came. At all.The TV in the living room area had severe burn in on the left side of it, resulting in half the TV looking purple, but I don’t typically watch TV in hotels anyway, so the image doesn’t matter when it’s just background noise. And then comes the internet. No complaints about the actual internet itself. But the fact I was double charged, every single day for the “premium” WiFi service. It’s advertised as $4.95 per day but that was charged to me twice daily. I called the hotel on March 16th and made them aware of the billing error, and they said someone would be in touch on Monday March 18th. It’s now the 21st and I’ve heard from no one.My company (who pays for the hotels) said they’re going to get AMEX to do a chargeback since this is an inaccurate charge.Such a shame to have to do something like this just because the hotel wouldn’t fix a billing error…

Very nice rooms and hotel. Staff are super friendly and professional. Hotel is quiet and close to the shops and restaurants. You won’t lack for anything while staying here because of the close proximity to everything. Hotel serves breakfast every day as well. Hotel is pet friendly.Hotel has very nice accessible accommodations and is service dog friendly.

The experience was trash! The guy at the hotel was rude. Sierra woods the GM is disgusting. Employee opened and walked into my room in which my naked girlfriend was attempting to walk out. When I asked him to exit my room, he told me no and called the police to have me removed with no refund or anything. NOT RECOMMENDED FO SOMEWHERE ELSES!!!!

It's a hard one to rate. One week the room is spectacular, the next week the room smells awful and is missing a pan. If they could get their consistency under control I would gladly improve my rating. Also the service is far below the Marriot standard. If you want amazing service go next door to the Marriott Courtyard.

Cleaning service took $250 of cologne from my suitcaseI have been a Marriott rewards guy for the past year and a half, and I've stayed at this hotel on and off from about November 2022 to January 2024 whenever I have work down here. It's the same- ol- same- ol mediocrity this location has had forever but proximity over luxury- though this one kinda took the cake.On top of permanently blue-shifted backlight damaged LCD displays in every room they've never replaced in a year and a half, beds that are so old you slip into a deep divet where all the padding has worn away, I somehow also had two bottles of cologne disappear from my suitcase the day cleaning service came through- which I had the day before in the spot I always put it- my suitcase. One $70 and one $180. The $180 was new.Honorable mention my Steam Deck also walked across the room from my suitcase to the bedside table. Which means they thought about stealing that too, but didn't think they could get away with it.I typically don't leave negative reviews when the positives outweigh the negatives, which a clean room, decent wifi, punctual room service, clean kitchens, bathrooms, helpful front staff (a bit sassy but never to me, so I personally don't have anything against them), but I felt it needed to be listed so others are aware.

Great location with very friendly staff. Showers are a death trap if you forget to lay down a floor towel as the water just splashes out. And the lights take an engineer to figure out but overall a great place to stay in the greater Charleston

We got to the hotel and the front desk representative started our check in and asked me if the ground floor room was okay, I said that I would like to have a room in the 2nd or 3rd floors and he said all rooms in the other floors were taken. So we accepted his offer since we had no option. One hour later I was at the reception trying to get a safe for my wife computer, since the hotel room I was in doesn't have a safe and another guest was checking in and was offered the ground floor and the guest said he would like another floor and, guess what, the same front desk representative gave him a room a in another floor. I thought to myself, for me he didn't have a room, but for the other guest he did. We didn't appreciate that. Not good.Rooms: Good, but didn't got cleaned during our stay.Food & drinks: Good breakfast and very nice people working in the breakfast area.

We stayed with 6 people. 3 children. The staff was very pleasant. Rooms were beautiful and well cared for. Everything we could have needed was ready. Would definitely recommend and stay again.Edit: at checkout there was a lot of confusion and my card and my daughters were both charged. Hotel said they have no record of it. Even though we showed them the charges on our account. She said there was nothing to do until the bank releases the hold . Called the bank they said it is the hotel that had the hold not them. Then the woman at the desk said there was nothing she could do.Ruined the great stay.

I agree with the other reviewer, this is not like any other Marriott. I always stay at Marriotts. Saw the staff exactly twice. Once when I checked in and once the next morning as they were walking into the back office. The TV was dim to the point you could not make out the picture during the day and needed to be replaced. Contacted the front desk and was told there was nothing they could do. There were stains on the carpet and the mattresses were the worst I have found in a Marriott. Had the room for two nights. Called on the first night and asked for a late checkout. Was told to call back in the morning. Called in the morning and was told no. There is a free breakfast here but it is subpar at best. Nothing is kept up and resupplied. This was, overall, the worst Marriott experience I have had. DO not stay here if you are expecting Marriott quality and service.
