I’ve had a terrible experience at Durst Family Medicine. The front office is very difficult to work with and especially difficult too establish clear communication with. I NEVER get my calls and messages returned without having to call them back multiple times to remind the staff of my inquiry. I feel respected and heard by no one there, including the physicians. It’s unfortunate to have to admit that this is the WORST doctor’s office I have ever experienced.

Could not recommend this place any less. I can’t leave a review for the quality of the provider’s, but the front office staff ruin this practice’s potential. I called every day for weeks to try to get an appointment, I have family members who see Dr. George Durst and really enjoy him. I finally was able to get through, and around a month later I needed to reschedule my appointment. Once again, I have called every day for a week at this point to reschedule. Now I’ll just have to no show my appointment, because I’m going elsewhere. What a nightmare.

I waited for weeks for a 15-minute appointment. When the appointment day finally came, they called me that morning to cancel. Called in a prescription refill request - A week later I found out that they hadn't called it into my pharmacy. I had received no communication from them about this. I called them, and I was told that they wouldn't refill my medication because I had been agitated when I called. I have gone to this practice for 8 years, and my doctor retired in December. She and I had a fantastic relationship - and now that she's gone, they treat me like garbage.

If you are looking to be heard and for your concerns to be valued, look elsewhere. Their front desk staff acts like they are doing you a favor for simply taking a message or for scheduling you an appointment. Messages are never returned and virtual appointments are kept waiting for over an hour, or just ignored. I unfortunately tested positive for covid and called for some guidance and no one bothered to return the phone call. This place is awful and has gone down hill after Doctor Rutledge left.

I have been with Durst Family medicine for 8 years. Each time I need to schedule an appointment and go in or in today’s times, have a virtual visit, I feel as though I am constantly jumping through hoops and not valued. I feel rushed and as though they are trying to move on to the next patient. I truly enjoyed whenI was seeing Colleen(a PA) but since I have been switched to a doctor, and only allowed to see them, the quality of service has gone down. The nurses have been curt, and do not make me feel comfortable with my visits. I will be looking to switch family practitioners.

The best care ever. I had a long year of health problems and Dr. Geroge Durst was there every step of the way and got my health back on track with top notch care and attention. We love Durst Family Medicine.

I have repeatedly left messages regarding my octogenarian mom who has dementia. I have repeatedly left instructions to have them call MY number yet they continually our landline instead of the number left for them to call. If they are repeatedly overlooking small details such as what number I have asked them to call, I have to wonder what if any other details they have missed regarding my mom's care. The problem with the lack of paying attention regarding my phone messages didn't start with COVID-19. It has been a problem for almost a year. The only thing keeping me from switching my mom's care to another practice is my mom's desire to stick with them. I switched my own care to another practice years ago.

Dr George Durst Jr. is the best.Period. I can't say enough good things about him or PAColleen Mackley and all the clinical staff that have ever helped me. Dr Durst and Colleen are Excellent in their care and knowledge . I feel very Blessed to have such good Doctors when I need them! I Highly recommend them ! Dr Durst has been my primary care physician for decades ! I have never had a reason to consider changing Doctors .

We arrived to Isle of Palms on Saturday and my daughter was sick and became sicker as the week went on. We called the clinic requesting a same day apt and was able to come in within one half hour. Was very impressed by the person taking my call along with the person who greeted us when we arrived. She first saw the medical assistant for vital signs and the. saw the doctor who did a thorough exam and provided a couple of prescriptions for her illness. Thanks so much for the wonderful care that was needed urgently!

STAY AWAY!!! I recently moved to the area and wanted to get in for a routine physical/check up. I called this practice and set the appointment.Upon arrival, I completed the new patient documents regarding my medical history in addition to family's. I waited for 45 minutes after my appt time until they finally took me in. Three other patients that came in after me were taken back before me. A nurse took my vitals (bp, etc), then I spent no more than 8 minutes with Dr. George Durst who asked me the SAME medical history questions that were on the new patient documents. Fast forward two weeks, a surprise bill for $233 shows up in the mail. Long story short, Dr. George Durst decided to change my appointment from a routine physical/check up to a "new patient consultation" which my insurance doesn't cover. NEVER ONCE did they communicate this to me. Here's the WORST part... when I called the office to explain this situation, they read me back the 'consultation' notes which Dr. George Durst FALSIFIED in order to scam the insurance company! There were multiple bits of information that were flat out not accurate. Additionally, they wanted to put me on blood pressure medication after ONE bp reading WITHOUT even discussing diet and exercise first! I cannot say enough terrible things about this practice. I have never, ever been a part of something so immoral and unethical. Avoid this place at all costs...I wouldn't be surprised if they close due to legal issues.

Appointment times don’t matter. You will be waiting. One time I swear they forgot me in the patient room until I stepped out to leave without being seen.

My 10 year old son developed a sore throat with high fever while we were on vacation on IOP. While there was a wait for an emergency appointment, the waiting room was comfortable and the staff was pleasant. The best part of the visit, however, was nurse Regina. She did a great job of making my son as comfortable as possible with the vitals, tests, etc. that she performed. Excellent bedside manner for him and us. After Regina took care of us we saw Dr. Rutledge who was knowledgeable and also had a great bedside manner--- answered all of our questions patiently and completely. Within 24 hours our son was back on the beach like nothing ever happened.
