The only employee who smiles at customers is the Indian lady (don't know her name) who is a door greeter. If it were not for her, this location would not even deserve the one star i'm giving it. Customer service is horrendous. Employees only care about finishing the task their managers give them, not actually serving customers, except, of course, the lady I mentioned who is a door greeter. She is superb.

I went to this WalMart for a simple exchange for a small air-conditioning unit. The one I had purchased was damaged. In any case, product issue aside, I could not believe the attitude and terrible customer service people they had a the customer service center. All were on their personal phones and treated customers as if they (associates) were doing the customers a favor. No welcome, no warm communication - AND NO PROFESSIONALISM VIA APPEARANCE AND CARING ABOUT THE WALMART BRAND OF QUALITY AND SERVICE! The manager on duty, Lachee (spelling?), was awful and didn't do anything to reinforce good behavior and customer service of her staff. She herself, was terrible and non-professional. Hence, I am never going to return at the East Main Spartanburg WalMart location again. Complete disarray and lack of team camaraderie and professionalism. I don't know or care what pay rate employees are paid for a given role. If you are working for a company AND facing customers, you had better put your best face and effort completely ON and service them accordingly. The next morning, I went to the Taylors, SC WalMart location and received exceptional service. I was in-and-out of there in less than 5-minutes.

this place is so ghetto. they lock the door 30 minutes before they close, employees are rude asf, their secret shopper isn't so secret he makes himself very known. only shop here because it's the only store that has SOME good options but the store over all is terrible.

I needed one tire , called Walmart at 345 PM, they said I could arrive by 7PM and get the tire. Arrived at 515 PM and was told that they were not taking any more customers for the day. I then called the Walmart across town and was told the same thing. If you are not going to take customers then change your hours. Drove 40 minute round trip for nothing.

I went to Walmart to make a simple purchase and while paying, my chip on my debit card wouldn't work. Me and the associate probably tried at least ten times -- to which she relayed to me "well it's not our fault your card isn't working." First off -- who trains your associates? I've never had this sort of problem in ANY other store -- not Target, not Publix, heck, not even a run down mom & pop gas station. Even *they* have the option to slide your card if your chip isn't working or apple pay. If *they* can afford to do that, you would think that Walmart -- the $400+ billion dollar company -- would. But it's obvious that Walmart would rather penny pinch than make it convenient for their customers to *actually purchase things.* No worries though! I went down the street to Lowe's and bought the same item. Cheaper too!

This Walmart is much, much, much, better stocked than the one in my hometown of Gaffney,S.C. ! Another Yelp review said that this Spartanburg S.C. was the worst one they've ever seen. I formally invited that dissatisfied shopper to visit the Walmart in my town. It's consistently terrible! poorly stocked! , a hidden management group that is never seen on the floor talking to customers. They just don't care! The philosophy of Walmart manager is Take IT ! OR LEAVE IT ! They just don't seem to care about interacting with their customers! They most likely don't want to hear the negative feedback that they deserve! The east side Walmart is a true gem when compared to the Gaffney one ! Every isle was neat! The floors were shiny! There was an abundance of products ! No empty shelves here ! I like it! But at the end of the day; it's still a Walmart with all of the shortcomings that go with it! I wholeheartedly recommend this location over the Walmart in my town !

This has to be the absolute worst Walmart I've ever been in. I'm at a loss as to how the current management team stays in place because they clearly aren't functioning. Floor employees are useless. They stand around in small packs, gossiping, laughing, and ignoring customers. If you need help, you're completely out of luck. Cashiers are surly. This store is DIRTY. There was food on the floor in many areas (not all in the grocery section), shelves were a mess, and the produce section looked terrible (wilted vegetables, fruit on the floor, no bags). There was one angry member of staff removing expiring dairy products from the coolers; she glared at everyone as she was doing the work in what appeared to be pajama bottoms. Everywhere you go the store appears to have been ransacked. Seriously. Walmart needs to fire its management team and have the new management team rethink the current batch of employees. Hell, I'd do a much better job running that store. I realize that Walmart and quality don't really belong in the same sentence. But if you're looking for a quality Walmart experience, you're definitely not going to find it here. Perhaps there's a Target nearby.

Actually my visit doesn't even deserve one star. This Walmart is the worst one I have been to. The employees are careless. We asked for help and they just handed us from employee to employee. There was also a woman with her dog, that clearly wasn't a service dog, just roaming around the store. And went into a aisle, the clearance aisle, smelt like literal poop. There was a abandoned buggy, with random toys in it, in the middle of the aisle that we suspect the horrendous oder came from. There was even an employee there who didn't give a care in the world for the smell. We couldn't even shop long enough because we were basically suffocating in our mask by the smell. I would not come back ever again.

Long story short. There was an item I found on line I wanted for someone's birthday. It said in store only purchase price with 4 in stock - not something I could buy online and have them hold. I looked in both locations where it might be - nothing. I asked a woman in the toy department about the product. She acted like I was speaking another language and had no idea what I was talking about despite an extensive description of the product. I was able to get the Assistant Manager to help me. He was very nice, tried to help and not all that surprised to see there was an "in stock" discrepancy. He was surprised that the count was so far off though. So you might say - shame on me for travelling all that way without first calling and asking someone to look for the item or lay their hands on it. When's the last time you called a Walmart and asked for something like that? Ain't gonna happen - the days of personalized service at a big box store are gone....

This is one of the worst Walmart's with the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life!! I was looking for an item online & this was the only Walmart showing that the item was in stock in the store. I called this location to make sure they did have the item before I drove an hour & a half there to get it, but when I asked the girl if the item was there & gave her the UPC number for the item she told me yes, they do have it but that she needed to get a manager. When the manager ce I repeated what the conversation with the first girl, but the Manager told me she needed to find a "CSM" to help me because that's not what she does. Erm, ok. Then, while I'm on hold waiting for the lady to to tell me whether or not the first girl's confirmation that the item was in the store I can hear loud chewing, I mean chomping, crunching disgustingly loud sounds. Then some girls started complaining about, "who answered the damn phone?" obviously upset that they couldn't use the phone to call out. I can hear the girls complaining & ganging yo on another girl, then the phone line went dead. I really need these items by tomorrow, so I'm about to risk finding out if the items are actually there or not but I don't have a good feeling about this... they won't answer the phone at this Walmart at all now that I've tried calling back. How inconsiderate & just plain rude!

They need to turn on the AIR...so hot in there you don't want to stay and shop...we were so hot we had to leave our buggy and go ! And besides that if you can't find something on your own you can never find anyone to help you !

Typical Wal-Mart long lines with two cash registers open. I would rather pay publix prices for the customer service and for time savings sake.

Of all Walmart locations close to me this one is my favorite simply because they have more than 2 registers open at all time unlike others and usually the wait to pay in line is minimal

Eh, it's okay. For some reason, this store was listed as recently renovated. Why? I saw no renovation when I was there yesterday. The store DOES need renovations. It does not seem to have as much home decor selection as other Walmarts do. It is, however, in a good location in town. Maybe that's why it was busy in the middle of the day.
