Let me say that our waiter gave us great service. However, I ordered my steak medium from the meat cutter (same usual meat cutter) and I specifically told him I want the steak, medium, and not raw. it came back very rare and raw! This has happened many times since the Peddler has been in this new location. After for more than 30 years of being a loyal customer, we are through and will not pay the prices you charge for food that is never cooked as ordered!

Steak was very good & very affordable. Staff was very friendly and did a great job of taking care of me during my visit. I will definitely go again when in the area

Others BEWARE!!! My husband became ill with food poisoning from eating the teriyaki pork tenderloin from here. He was sick for days. We're assuming they had the meat sitting out for a long period & didn't cook it at a high enough temp, but regardless it is unacceptable. Be careful when ordering any pork dishes. Other than that we ate the same foods.

First I will start with the good. Great atmosphere, warm bread was good, service overall was good and the stuffed jalapeno poppers were okay. The main course is the issue. The sides (Cheddar Mac and Cheese and Sweet Potato Soufflé) were both good. My fiancé and I shared the Ribeye steak cooked medium rare and while it was cooked correctly there is no seasoning and the steak was flavorless. This is supposed to be a steak house and the steak is more flavorful at Texas Roadhouse. For steak there are much better options in Spartanburg. I did not mention this at the restaurant because the waitress never asked how our dinner was. I may go back but would not recommend the steaks. This was my second experience with this here.

This was our 2nd visit. My fiancé and I shared the ribeye and it was flavorless! He had the same experience on our first visit. The salad was delicious. The soufflé sweet potato and cheddar Mac and cheese were very good. Bread was fresh, hot & great butter! Jalapeño poppers just ok. The other criticism I have is that our female Server needs to talk louder and she never asked if our main dinner was ok or to our liking. For this level of a steak restaurant that should be asked right after we are finished. Obviously we were disappointed in the steak. For the prices the chef needs to step it up and servers need to be trained better. I can’t recommend eating here.

Well.. I have read some other reviews about how delicious the bread was,we weren't served bread. My salad had way too much dressing. My husband's croutons were terrible! He was charged way too much for 4 scallops and 4 shrimp.my filet was ok. I ordered it medium. I prefer medium rare, but last time we ate there, the steak was raw. If I had known my filet was going to be very thin, I would have made a different choice. The waitress was nice but very overwhelmed. She is extremely loud, and my husband has trouble hearing. I could have gotten and have gotten a steak that thin at texas roadhouse the whole reason I wanted to go to the peddler was because I thought I would be served a thick premium filet, but I wasn't very disappointed. The next time I want a premium filet, I guess we will try level 10.

We ventured here for my birthday and honestly, I was not impressed. The service was great, however, our server didn’t talk very loud and seemed kind of annoyed when we asked about a physical menu (my husband is deaf in one ear and couldn’t hear what our server was saying) but the waitstaff, in general, was very nice. The food… I was not impressed, at all. My Caesar salad was not good; the croutons were stale, there was way too much parmesan and the dressing was overpowering. The bread brought to the table was the best part of the meal. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered a steak medium rare and both were flavorless and dry.Typically, when dining at a higher quality restaurant, you’re asked if you’re celebrating anything and it didn’t bother me that it wasn’t asked, but our main server didn’t seem interested in us at all and I kind of felt like a burden so I got my key lime pie to go (which by the way was absolutely fantastic!)

I grew up eating at The Peddler in Greenville 30+ years ago. We decided to go to the Spartanburg location last night with family. A total of 6 people. We arrived at 6pm and took 2.5 hours to be seated. Even after "our table" left getting it cleaned for dinner took another 20 minutes. Once seated it took 15 minutes and us asking where's our waiter to get drinks. They were quick to bring our salad order forms but once picked up took another 20 minutes for them to be served. After this we just sat there. We were promised we would have the steak cutter come to the table. 30 minutes went by and we had enough. We finally got up to leave and another waitress took our order and it arrived around 9:30. The food was good but the service was beyond acceptable. We went in at 6 and left at 9:45 the last table to finish. 3:45 hours for dinner is unacceptable and we will not be going back.

This was my first visit to The Peddler Steak House since they moved to Main St. (Spartanburg SC). We went for Valentine's Day dinner. The ambiance is warm and inviting. There is a great bar for table waiting or just to have drinks and appetizers. The cocktails are very good with specials for Happy Hour. The bartender is friendly. She Kept the drinks flowing while we waited for our table. (They did not take reservations on Valentines Day). There are no dinner menus. The server gives you a slip of paper to select your salad preferences and they create your salad (no longer have a salad bar). The amazing salad is huge. Then a raw whole ribeye is presented to your table and can be cut to your specifications, Or that person will verbally give you other entree options. (Prices are unknown) I felt like Our server was a little "pushy" with the appetizer and dessert offerings as she stated that we "didn't order appetizer or dessert." ( Hinting it was effecting the amount of her tip.) There was so much food and I had baked a beautiful dessert for us to enjoy when we returned home so we had more than enough food with a salad and steak. I will go back to The Peddler for special occasions or anytime to the bar for drinks and apps.
