The deli department needs help. The staff will just look at you when you are at the hot bar. Zero customer service!!! Go somewhere else!

I have shopped the Ingles at Pine and Country Club in Spartanburg for almost 20 years, but it has gone downhill. Let me elaborate: The Pharmacy is great, they are very efficient and helpful, and the customer service managers are above average, but I will be going to Publix Hillcrest from now on. Why? The checkers. Helpful, friendly and if you have a issue of any sort, they are fine with it. At this Ingles, I have had multiple issues with coupons not scanning - both Ingles issued or other - and because I understand math at a glance, have caught this but the checker has had one of two responses: Shrug, "it's only 5%", or, "I did what I was supposed to do" -and shrug. OR, one time, "Yes m'am it scanned." No it did not. Okay, "it's only 5%" but 5% is still money, folks. But it's not so much that as the poor attitude. On more than one occasion, the checker totalled the purchase without asking for my Advantage card and again, shrugged at my complaint of losing money, no offer to get a manager, no apology. They act like, "Can't you just leave?" Or they can't be bothered. Twice I had checkers who could not figure out how to process a gift card. Once, taking out my Advantage card and holding it out the checker said, "Wait until the end." ???? Excuse me?? I'm in my 60's and this young lady was perhaps 20! Very rude! The checkers at Publix have never been "put out" by anything my many visits. Never a rude comment. Also, another issue, is the store itself. It is becoming dirty and unkempt. The entrance is depressing. The rug needs cleaned if not replaced and I am not kidding, the same crushed orange juice can from 3 weeks ago is still sitting on the shelf leaking onto the cans underneath. I have spent a small fortune in this store over the years but will no longer give them my business. Not when their competitor is so close by and running rings around them. I don't see this store remaining open for long if this continues. Again, the Pharmacy is above average and customer service managers seem to be trying.

We shop at Ingles several days each week for our non- profit ministry. The cashiers and bagging assistance employees could not be nicer. They are so friendly and helpful and even help load our ministry truck. Ingles carries the bulk sizes we need and always has the items we buy fully stocked. Excellent customer service!
