Very cool facility and we enjoyed our first visit for the dock diving. Unfortunately the ramp to get in and out of the pool for the dogs is not safe. It even has a sign on it telling you to be cautious because it's slick. This is combined with a hard plastic notch that runs all the way across the ramp roughly every foot....
The moment I saw my dogs step on it you can see them slide. I know the ramp is entirely designed for getting OUT of the pool and not IN. However for dogs like mine who have never done a dock jump we were just trying to familiarize with the environment. My dogs wanted to swim from the ramp. VERY DANGEROUS.
I keep up on my dogs nails but this is a huge hazard for their nails. They slide right down the ramp and hit the hard plastic notches. Just as I figured one of my dogs did suffer a nail rip, thankfully it's not too bad. Folks need to be aware of this though.
Do not take your dog to swim here if they're not fully prepared to be dock jumping and not using the ramp as an entrance. It's on me, but that's ridiculous you would have a ramp that is slippery...
1000% defeats the purpose.

My dog stayed not only for a week but also did training as well. I was blown away by the transformation when I got home. And I also got updates through the week and the care was amazing! Special thanks to sandy and the rest of the training team who took such great care of him!!!

I truly could not be more thankful to all the staff and to the trainers, especially Sandy. I got my pup, Walker, two months ago who came from a bad situation which left him completely unsocialized and terrified of men. After being referred to Astro from a family member, I immediately enrolled him into group training classes with Sandy and have seen a complete transformation. We do day board and train as well in which the Astro team keeps me updated with his progress throughout the session. He also loves coming into daycare and playing with his friends, something I didn’t think would be possible when I first got him. While we still have a long way to go, he is a completely different dog from two months ago. It’s amazing to see the attention to detail the staff has with him. They know who he is and cater to his specific needs, which I’m grateful for. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

Daisy has the BEST instructor during group training classes! Thanks to Mrs. Sandy!!! She gives us so much advice/tips and tricks for first time dog owners and we couldn’t be more pleased to see how much our pup has progressed with her obedience. We plan to take as any group classes and we can with Mrs. Sandy and we can’t recommend her enough ? Thank you Astro!!

I have nothing but great things to say about both Astro Kennels locations. From Day Care, Boarding, and Training, they have led up to their reputation in this town! All staff go above and beyond to answer your questions or listen to your concerns. As someone with a rescue, I am so appreciative of the nurturing-nature and the attention to detail all of the staff have.

I highly recommend Astro Kennels for all your doggy training. Sandy, the director of training, is amazing. She is truly a dog whisperer. Her love and training is second to none. My LuLu had such an amazing time making new friends. The people at Astro treat you and your pets like family. Not only do they have awesome training, they have boarding, doggy day care and camp, wilderness adventures, dog grooming and so much more. LuLu loved the dog diving. The pool is super clean and you can swim with your dogs making it a great bonding experience for the both of you. The pool is salt water and filtered.

I cannot recommend this place enough! We adopted our sweet Alfie three months ago from Greenville Humane, and of course, there were things that we need to work on with our 3 year old doggy. He is super sweet but hasn’t had consistency, and is struggling with anxiety. We were referred to Astro Kennels by everyone in our community and boy were they right! Alfie has finished his beginner training and has done a few training boarding sessions at Astro and the change has been MASSIVE! Both Shelbie and Sandy are INCREDIBLE and they guide us through every single step. He loves going in too, which for a shelter dog, is saying a lot. We also have decided to board him when we are gone instead of having someone sitting him at home, as he is so comfortable with everyone there. I honestly am in awe with this place and the people who work here, and will recommend to anyone, no matter the dog, age or breed. They are miracle workers changing doggies and owners lives. Massive Thank You guys!

Thank you to all the staff for your patience and positive experience. We have completed several day drop and train and completed a training course.
To our lovely trainer Shelbie for your patience, expertise, and ability to tailor the training to our dogs' needs. We have seen significant improvement in our dogs' behavior and obedience. Since a small dog attacked her from behind with no warning, she had a lot of anxiety and issues we were not with prior. This is helping get her back on track. We're so appreciative! Thank you!!
