My son visited friends at Clemson. Parked in a visitor spot. He came out to go to the airport and his car was gone. He missed his flight and had to wait until 9am to get his car back. These people are towing cars illegally. I hope the police can get involved and help these kids. So thankful mine don't go to clemson if the school allows this company to continue to do this to their students and their visitors.

I have always been so grateful to deal with good, honest people, companies, and organizations who really want to do the right thing. Isn’t that what we all want for ourselves and others……I thought so until my experience with Death Valley Towing!!!! Death Valley Towing should be embarrassed and ashamed by the way in which they conduct their business. My daughter and I had to unexpectedly switch cars, due to her having some car trouble. My car was parked in her designated paid spot at the apartment complex, while her car was in the shop. It bothered no one, and no one complained about it!!!! She realized the car had been towed when she was headed to the car to drive over an hour for a much anticipated, important job interview for an internship. Needless to say, that didn’t happen and she was so upset as I wasn’t able to get her another car fast enough. After calling DVT and explaining our situation, it was evident they could care less about us or what happened. It was all about how much money they could make off of this tow! I understand there’s a need for towing companies, but this company looks for ways to take advantage of people, while making money in such an unethical way. When I went to retrieve the car, I explained our situation again. I admitted we had made a mistake by not getting another sticker for the car but they had the opportunity to only charge us the $170 towing fee. They said they weren’t able to do that as my small car took up so much space in their big tow zone so they were insistent on having to charge for every day it was there. My car was at Death Valley Towing 3 days without me or my daughter even knowing. They could have absolutely chosen to only charge for the $170, which would have still been making money off of a very innocent situation. They didn’t even try and make it right, or even meet in the middle because they didn’t care one bit. I’m so thankful I will NEVER have to deal with them again and hope they would read and listen to reviews to be a company the wonderful Clemson community could be proud of!

My car was scratched at some point in the towing process. I drive an older car and I wasn’t going to ask them to fix it but I did ask that I not have to pay the towing fee as my car had been damaged. They made comments about how I was a “little girl” and I had somehow lied about the scratch. This honestly was so disrespectful and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. My dad eventually got involved and as soon as he brought up a lawyer they suddenly changed their minds and paid my dad (not even me) the full $780 to fix my car. If you are a woman I definitely would not recommend this company for your own safety.

I wish I could leave ZERO stars. The customer service of this towing company is reprehensible. This towing company manages parking lots for some apt buildings that students live in. Our daughter has her car in shop and called to let them know she had another car until she gets it back - but they told her she was out of luck and will tow her car if she parks it there. They were rude and obnoxious on the phone. It’s embarrassing that companies can still treat customers like this.

I went to my favorite yoga studio in Clemson, Solshine Yoga, and after class, I noticed my car was no longer in the parking lot. Death Valley Towing had illegally towed my car, and the yoga studio confirmed this to the Clemson police officer. The police contacted Death Valley Towing, who then admitted the car was wrongfully towed. The police requested the return of the car, but Death Valley Towing refused, insisting that someone come to pick it up at night.
Unfortunately, the police officer couldn't retrieve the car because it was towed outside of their jurisdiction into another county. The instructor from Solshine kindly offered to drive me to get my car, as the police officer agreed it wasn’t safe for me, a small woman, to go alone at night . The police considered the situation serious enough to involve an officer from Oconee County to assist with retrieving the car.
When I got the car back, it wasn’t operating correctly. The manager promised the owner would call the following Monday to make this right and they have failed to do so. I believe this is a very shady company, and i believe people should be concerned that they are putting young women into dangerous situations by making them retrieve their cars in remote locations. This seems like a dangerous predatory action.
Thanks to the kind officers from Clemson and Oconee police for their efforts in helping me get my car back. Be cautious, you could be the next victim.

Same as they’ve always been. My son has 2 vehicles registered with the property he rents. Had car trouble and drove a different one up late last night that didn’t have a sticker, even though it’s registered to be at the complex. There were no visitor spots so he parked in front of his apartment where he always parks. Sure enough - towed over night. Really need to investigate a little further before snatching cars over night that are allowed to be there. $175 and no empathy whatsoever that he’s stuck trying to get to class without a car.

Wiling to tow people on Labor Day, but won’t give out parking passes that you need to not get towed on Labor Day.

Kelvin was extremely professional and helpful and quickly got my big lawn mower out of a tight spot. I will definitely use Death Valley Towing in the future for any towing needs. Thanks again, Kelvin!

Death valley towing made my day by delivering or "towing" to me my door dash delivery. I was in logistics for 22 years so I made sure the miles and time were covered with my tip. Here's another tip to death valley towing... Don't ever get rid of a guy that'll do that. I'm impressed!

Absolutely amazing. Had to get my car from Walhalla to a dealership in Seneca and they were able to pick up my car for a fraction of the price as other tow companies and so much quicker than the other companies I called. Outstanding job to their super sweet receptionist and to the amazing guy that picked the car up! Thank you!
