Fueled up and went in the store to use the restroom, went to the back and the bathroom door was locked. Asked the clerk for the key, she didn't have a good attitude and told me the bathroom was broken. There was not an out of order sign on the door. I told her I just filled up with gas and needed to go, I asked if I could use the employees bathroom, she said it was broken and told me she hasn't been to the restroom all day. Wow. On top of that the gas is about 10 to 15 cents higher here than the surrounding stations. Don't stop, drive on to Lake City or Coward... gas is much less per gallon and much friendlier inside.

An awesome store and definitely worth your time for a pit stop the Honeycrisp pecans are my favorite ....yes they're not cheap but nuts are not...... most of us are quite expensive. But seriously highly recommend taking the time to check out this place.....very clean and a helpful Staff......don't be shy, try a couple samples at their AWESOME "Sample Bar "....it will help you determine what to buy, since you will probably want way more than you will get

I finally made it here. Chocolate covered pecans are the best in South Carolina. They have a free sample bar. Prices are the same online as in the store. Best Buy is The 2 lb. white tub is the cheapest per ounce of the chocolate covered pecans. Worse purchase is the Benne Wafers. The taste is awful. No sample given. Nasty tasting wafer, no favor. I got a buy one get one free. Now I have two bags to throw away. Don't waste your money or calories on this one. Interesting place to stop on a road trip just to look around. Staff is very friendly.

I was born and raised in Coward, South Carolina. I jus recently celebrated my 31st birthday living in Scranton, South Carolina. Coincidentally, not even a mile down the road from Young’s Food Store. Over the years I’ve became not only a loyal customer but a consistent one too. I can not say I’ve ever walked into this store that I wasn’t greeted with the smiling face of an energetic and polite employee of the company! Now, because I live right down the street; my husband or myself stop here at least once a day! Sometimes more than that. We even occasionally walk there as a family just to get out the house and get a little exercise. (Usually we’re taking our 7 year old daughter to the park) I’ve known the manager, Mrs. Marion, (hopefully I spelled her name correct) for several years now and I absolutely love her to death! She’s such a great asset to the company! I just wish she were at the Scranton location more! I miss the energy she gave off. Lol. Anyway, there is nothing bad I can say about Young’s Food Store! I’m very happy to say, I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’ve actually just recently submitted an application to the company. I’m very anxious to become a part of the employee “team”! I really believe I would be a great asset to this company also! Not only do I have lots of years of experience. I’m also a great people person! I’m looking forward to hearing back from someone really soon! Thanks for all the great years of service! Looking forward to many, many more to come.

What a great Southern experience! I stopped off the highway and was pleasantly surprised. It was a true change of pace after a long drive--more than just a truck stop--a real experience with delicious food I could bring as a present for my host. Will stop again!

This is great place to go for a short pit stop directly off of I95 in South Carolina. There is plenty of parking and a huge amount of free samples from chocolate covered pecans to pecan bars. You can buy small bags as well as large tubs of nuts. They carry an abundance of novelty items and gift items.

They have some of the best pecan muffins and chocolate products. Treats are prepared fresh daily.

This store offers a variety of items. From toys, books, jams, snacks, ice-cream, desserts, sandwiches and baked goods. I'm assuming they are known for their pecans since it was boxed, packaged in different flavors. Plus there is a humongous letters that spell out pecans on top of their roof. What drew me in was the FREE SAMPLE sign. I entered near closing time (about 30 minutes) and was able to sample a few things before they began to clean up. I bought a box of pecans, books, small South Carolina trinkets, boiled peanuts and a pecan pie. Sadly, I wasn't able to sample the pecan pie before I bought it. It was too sweet for me, the crust was soft, and the pecans were not crunchy. My mother on the other hand really enjoyed it. This store also has a website that you can order from. However, it doesn't offer over half of the things that they sell at the store. They have a private parking lot right in front of the store. The store has a handful of tables where you can enjoy your snacks or food that you purchased. I thoughts that the products were reasonably priced, considering there are different hotels across the street. Everything was well organized. This is a great place to find something to bring back home for all ages.

Love the pecan pie. My favorite. We've also bought chocolate covered pecans for many years. Maybe my tastebuds have changed but they are WAXYI I wish the coating tasted more like pure chocolate and less like wax and sugar. Also, I thought the pecans were from SC.... but I think they are from elsewhere. What state? Or what country? I am not sure and would like to know. And in this age of knowledge, it's always comforting to know that the products we buy are ethical: Chemicals? Labor practices? Environmental concerns? It's nutty!

Tourist trap. This place is like a Cracker Barrel knick knack store with nuts, except 2x more expensive. If you're into that sort of thing, go for it, otherwise, skip.
