We arrived later in the evening and were not rushed. We enjoyed a drink and a good meal. The drive out was fun. Island vibe with a community of very nice homes and lots of amenities.

Beautiful location on Dataw Island. We ordered the seafood basket, which was just ok, but nice ambiance and great service. The view of the waterfront is great.

I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant. Our waitress was sweet and friendly and the food was great!

There were 4 of us. Two dinners were brought out and got cold while waiting about 15 minutes for the other 2 dinners. The food was just ok. Wish it was better because the sunsets are beautiful there.

Had lunch here and each started off with a salad which were very good and then split a seafood basket which was also very good. The food portions were more than adequate. We sat on the outside porch and had a view of the marina. This restaurant is located on Dawtaw Island which is a gated community, but if you tell the guard at the gate that you are going to the restaurant, they just ask for your ID and give you a pass to enter. Highly recommend.

We ate at Morgan River Restaurant. Our server, Char, did a good job. Our food was good. However, we were basically asked to move along because they wanted our table for someone else. It was VERY disappointing. It's hard to imagine the type of management that would encourage such behavior.

MRG used to be our go-to place for dinner, but lately it has fallen off to the point where we won’t be going back. The food is just not as good as it used to be and sometimes the service is horrible. The hostess is terrible and won’t seat a party until everyone is there, which is incredibly stupid because of the lost revenue from cocktails and wine and apps. Instead, we have to just stand there waiting for everyone to park and walk in. It seems silly and like they feel the need to “punish” you if someone in your group is running five or ten minutes late. Plus, the hostess is usually playing with phone which is a bad look.

Just hosted an anniversary party with 16 people. We utilized the River Room which was perfect for our party. The atmosphere was wonderful. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. Amy and her staff were wonderful to work with and were flexible with the menu choices. This is a great venue for a special event.

We are frequent customers. This place is fabulous. Ambience, setting (with beautiful sunsets), and consistency of food quality. I can't believe its not higher rated on Tripadvisor.

Couple of things.... 1st, we enjoyed the drive into Dataw very beautiful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was good. Great view. The service was acceptable and the food was good. Actually the salmon was excellent along with the butterfly shrimp. The Caesar salad had no taste. Here's the problem.... bring sanitizer, the bathroom was filthy and the doors (entrance, bathroom and outside deck) ....disgustingly dirty. Also when you check out and sign on the tip machine your also paying a tip on the TAX. It should be only on the quality of the goods and service.
