Have had accounts with Woodforest for a while. This one was close to me today. Went in and waited 5 mins before someone walked out to work… then proceeded to tell me they couldn’t deposit without a Id which I know is false it’s a deposit. You could tell she didn’t want to work!

The service of this bank is impressively bad. I have never had so many problems with a bank like this one. These people work mad and that leaves a lot to be said for this place. 3 months ago I opened a checking account and I keep having to call customer service because it doesn't work. The card is not accepted in many places. When you go to pay the machine says "dicline" How can this be possible!!!! if the account has money???? when you call to report what happened, they want to resolve everything with a "sorry" after spending almost an hour for them to answer the phone. They have also awarded charges that I have not authorized. In short, this is a total nightmare. It's a good place to recommend to a worst enemy.

I prefer the Woodforest location in York or Tega Kay. I had to stop at this one on a Sunday to cash a check after doing a job. They seemed bothered by their customers. They refuse to cash the first check because it appeared to be altered.I came back and got to deal with the young male that was working that Sunday. He kept grinning and laughing then he told me “I really didn’t have a use for my savings account and should close it. I addressed him like any grown person addresses a kid and told him no. Then he said whatever I was just letting you know. Finally then he gave me my cash. Horrible customer service skills.I work with customers all day and also do save money in my Woodforest account during the summer. If it wasn’t for the other branches and their amazing customer service I would’ve closed my account that day.

My late mother banked at this place, and I have to say closing her accounts with these people was absolutely terrible! First of all, nobody at this branch knew what they were doing. Not the teller, not either of the managers, not the well dressed people back in the office. They had to "call legal" and have us wait several days before they could do anything at all. So first off, they are incompetent. Second, they have ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. They will make you feel like you are at Wal-Mart waiting for Customer Service to refund you for some dumb item. But is that really how you want your money handled? We waited FORTY MINUTES for a person--not their teller at the front, but the "expert" who works back in the office--to cut us cashiers checks to look at my ID, double check with the email from their corporate branch in Texas or wherever, and then she SPELLS MY NAME WRONG ON THE CHECK WHILE SHE HAS MY ID RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF HER! I pointed out, "You spelled my name wrong. I won't be able to cash this." She treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. She actually ARGUED THAT THE PEOPLE AT HER OFFICE HAD IT RIGHT. Okay? Idiotic. She also quite coldly refused to tell us anything at all about the accounts. Screw you, screw your dead mother. Who cares if you are our customers? (She might as well have banked at Pop Copy...) They wouldn't take us to a desk (there are three in their little bank, completely unused), we had to stand there with people asking us if we were in line... It took her another half hour to fix it, by handwriting on the check. SMDH. Finally, we ask this same person to notarize a document--she has a notary with the county, right?--It requires two witnesses, and she gets a coworker as a witness and signs the other one. We say, "Okay, now it needs your notary stamp." She says "No, that don't actually need no stamp," which was inaccurate. She then proceeds to inform us that SHE CANNOT NOTARIZE IT NOW, BECAUSE SHE IS A WITNESS, thus wasting our form! (She was wrong about that, by the way, we got another notary to do it, and she had no problem with that.) These people are incompetent, and hire folks with not a shred of sense. Buyer beware, they made closing out a deceased loved one's account an absolute nightmare, and they had zero empathy, courtesy, or class about it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

While I hear good things about Woodforest generally from friends and family, my experience with this branch has been utterly terrible. Although seemingly helpful at first, as soon as my account was set up they made it highly apparent that they couldn't care less about their customers. Long lines, wait times, and otherwise questionable customer service practices aside, they immediately began walking back on terms of the account I'd set up. This culminated finally in them refusing to honor a check which had been written to me, with a teller curtly recommending that I go back and bother the payee (an elderly man recovering from a stroke) to make the check out differently and come back. When I objected to these terms, I was told that I could easily solve the problem by setting up a second account (for an additional setup fee, naturally). At any other location, Woodforest may deserve the high praise that convinced me to open an account. That said, if I could give this branch less than one star in a rating I would.
