The Owner/Operator of the Pawleys Island Barefoot General Store in The Hammock Shops is Extremely rude!I will never step foot in that store again.Not to mention the prices are Way higher than anywhere else with the same products.

Absolutely horrible owner!! Kicked us out for having a piece of candy!! Cursed at us and came around the counter threatening us!! We would NEVER go back!! Beware she likes to intimidate small children

Very cute shop that I would have loved to look around.When we entered I was cornered by the store employee and she stood firmly between me and the rest of the store. She seemed very kind - just sort of chatty and oblivious to the fact that her job was to allow people to shop. When I tried to change the conversation by pointing out a perfume I wanted to my fiance she still didn't let up.It was all fine and a little amusing, until she started lecturing me about politics. Not conversing - lecturing. Even when my polite smile started looking a little less polite, and my responses became a short "mm".Eventually I just turned around and left. I felt very rude, but I also feel like the attendant was being remakably rude to someone who was just trying to spend money in the store.Maybe that's just how things are now... "Don't shop here if you disagree with me politically".

The Barefoot General Store at The Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island is a great general store with gift ideas and items for just about everyone on your list. They have some unique items available that I have not seen in other places. It is fun to shop here and see everything that they have and worth checking out.

The Barefoot General is fabulous. They carry so many unique things. We bought the Apple Cinnamon Barbecue Sauce made especially for their store. It's wonderful...live in nearby Georgetown, will be going back for more! We bought several other unique things, but this sauce is crazy good!
