I helped my sister pick up her new cat, Missy. The was a wonderful experience. We also dropped off some donations. It was all I could do to leave without taking home a few extra cats. Great experience

We adopted our new family member here, a 2 year old cat.The folks here really care about the pets in their care.Like any other shelter, they are in need of supplies and support.I would strongly recommend visiting their website when in search of a new pet. There are plenty of little ones here that need a loving home. You won't regret it.

Guy with long hair and tats was the most helpful and informative employee. He really cares about those animals. My mom found her a beautiful kitty to rescue and call her own.

I hate leaving a poor review on a humane society but the staff that my husband and I encounter with today were down right horrendous. The lady at the desk was kind and the boy that showed us to what we was hoping to be our new forever cat was great but the other two older females were absolutely rude and hateful for absolutely no reason. We were told by a gentleman yesterday to bring our children to meet said cat and we could play with said cat for an hour to get to know her. So we did, and the staff I could tell were very annoyed and hated every second of us being there. We tried to play with the cat, hold her and show affection and we got yelled at after being told it was ok. I believe the gentleman I talked to yesterday was not there today or this may have been a different review. I really hope that beautiful cat we wanted so bad but was told “our loud environment may not be a good idea.” referring to my kids even tho the cat loved on my children, gets out alive and to a loving home. I know our home is full of love and we would’ve loved that little beauty until the end of time. Shame on you Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

The people were friendly and honest about the condition of karma the pet I adopted. And she's a wonderful happy well-adjusted little girl.

We have adopted three cats from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. They take excellent care of the animals there, and the place is always clean and smells good. The cats are loving and well cared for. The people who work there are so nice to deal with and work hard to make sure that the animals and the families are good fits for each other. We have been so pleased with the new additions to our family from the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach

Can't see any dogs without an appointment and you have to go to the website to fill out an application. They would get more dogs adopted if they allowed visitors. Makes you wonder.

needed to make an appointment but I went anyways and adopted a cat. The place was stuffy, hard to breath in. Overall it was an easy process for cats at least. Dogs on the other hand, well the kids couldn’t get the whole experience. You have to look on the computer screen, then pick which one to have come out and meet you. They said it was because of Covid . Just too much time being wasted to do it this way. This just didn’t work for us . Parking was limited and just watch out for other vehicles speeding. You will get hit if your not paying attention.

We were on vacation and went to pet the cats, the staff is great and they have plenty of souvenir shirts if you want a way to donate and take something home.

North Myrtle Humane is absolutely fantastic! We adopted our cat from there about a little more than a week ago after seeing her at petsmart. The staff was super helpful, involved, and caring. They also gave us lots of advice and were helpful bridging the gap between pet smart and their home base. When we received her she was friendly, settled in almost immediately, and in excellent health according to the vet . They also do a great job at checking in to see how the animal is settling in post adoption. This organization cares about their animals and it truly shows! If you’re looking for a pet I can’t recommend them enough.

It's a travesty when the Humane Society cannot help you, I called there today regarding our baby girl who suffering. After being railroaded through numerous veterinarians on the Grand Strand who have no compassion or regard4life or the duress of their owners who are financially incapable of enforcing their exuberant fees. Our baby girl is suspected of having pyometra and needs to be spayed. The woman I talked to at the Humane Society informed us there is no veterinarian there and basically to call around the veterinarians in the area which I explained to her I've done so already. I don't understand why there is no compassion here in the Grand Strand, it's all about a huge money grab in complete disregard for people's feelings and the life of and well-being of their pets. I left the phone call feeling defeated, hopeless, and in despair as I watch my dog suffer which probably will result in her end. All I can do is sit here and cry.

If I could this place a one star I would. My friend found a kitten in her engine and could not keep due to the fact that her husband is extremely allergic to cats. She took the kitten to see if they would take him in, and they provided attitude as soon as she walked in with the kitten and showed no sympathy. The women at the front desk was helpful, but one the volunteers was completely unsympathetic towards animals and should consider another career
