I go here 2 times a week around close with my service dog because there are no crowds or long lines and it's easier to navigate as a disabled person.Today, there was a new woman I've never seen before at the self checkout who was clearly withdrawing or suffering from serious low blood sugar. I say this because when my self check out register didn't recognize a bar code on a piece of fruit (which I just looked up by name, no problem) the red light on my machine came on. I kept checking out my groceries, expecting an employee to come fix the issue before I paid as they normally do, but instead an employee named Erica just shoved her way onto my screen and started pushing buttons, literally ripped the receipt out and said "none of those rung up, you have to go to another line". She never said can I help you or I don't think that machine will let you pay, or addressed me with a hi or ask me to let her see my screen, just got angry...not sure at me or machine because nothing was wrong...but I moved to the line she pointed me to anyways. The whole time I waited in line she yelled ACROSS the checkout section at me, to the point that i asked her not to speak to me that way. She was completely inconsolable, waving her arms around and marching across the section like a crazy person until I said "I'm embarrassed for you, throwing a fit like this at work." She absolutely lost it yelling "no you're throwing a fit "and even tho I was calm and had my voice down, it was like watching a toddler throw a tantrum. I made sure to get her name, and Annie at the checkout line helped me quickly and told me who to call tomorrow to file a formal complaint. Candy also saw the whole thing and tried to explain to Erica that my machine was working fine (the green light was on the whole time I waited in the next line, it was clearly fine and I could have just paid and left without the whole charade). I don't know how a deranged tweaker like that got hired here because the people who usually close are kind and helpful but I don't feel comfortable going back knowing I might be attacked and have a scene be made by some kind of melt down by an employee that clearly has nothing to do with me. Publix definitely doesn't hire people like this, and I'd rather pay the higher prices that have anxiety every time I need to go to the grocery store.

I come here every day and some weird guy kept walking around me who works there? I have social anxiety. Why the hell is he walking around me like that I have money I come here every day. Hell no I’m never coming back. I felt so uncomfortable. Hell no discussing place. Horrible employees stay away.
