Ah, where to begin with my recent ordeal with this hotel? You know the place—the one that’s as welcoming as a wet blanket on a cold night.I accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. Realizing my error immediately, I contacted the hotel to rectify this minor mishap. Little did I know, this would turn into a farcical comedy that even a sitcom couldn’t match.My attempts to reach the hotel were met with silence. Emails vanished into the ether and my desperation grew. When I finally managed to get someone on the line, I was greeted with the warmth of a brick wall. The staff, it seems, had mastered the art of sounding both cold and rude at the same time—a true talent, I assure you.Despite explaining my simple request to change dates (not cancel or seek a refund), I was met with stubborn reluctance. The phrase "nothing can be done" was repeated more times than I care to remember. Apparently, flexibility and customer service are as foreign to this hotel as palm trees are to Alaska.To say this experience was frustrating would be an understatement. It was infuriating, maddening, and left me feeling about as valued as a forgotten piece of luggage. Rest assured, I shall never darken the doorstep of this establishment again, and I strongly advise others to spare themselves the trouble. If you enjoy being treated with the charm of a grumpy DMV clerk and the efficiency of a broken vending machine, by all means, book your stay here. Otherwise, steer clear and save yourself from an extremely unpleasant experience.

Under no circumstances would I book here again. The fact that “service” is listed here is a farce. One star is still too many. This has nothing to do with service or even hospitality. Extremely unfriendly lady from reception to general manager. I have often had contact with hotels, but this surpasses everything. Sad - I really don't understand how you can speak of friendly staff here, perhaps the staff have moved elsewhere.

Nice hotel I recommend wasn't too happy with pool conditions when I tried to go in filled with bugs and buds from trees waited half hour for someone to clean by then I was too hot to wait any longer went to my room great supper and breakfast was provided by hotel thanks for that

We had a horrible experience at this hotel. We had some troubles at the desk to begin with. Then arriving to our room the sheets had hair all over them. Plus we found a small amount of poop on the floor after I dropped something off the night stand and saw it by the corner of our bed. This was poop was not cleaned until our last day and they gave me cleaning supplies to clean it up because no one was on staff. The worst part was that because we booked a non-refundable trip we didn’t receive any sort of compensation for having a gross room. Expedia was no help either, the offered us $60 in one key cash which is useless and made the process extremely hard. The hallways also reeked of weed the entire stay. Needless to say, we spent very little time here and it was a complete waste of money. I would suggest booking closer to town and eating up the extra $100 it cost it takes to stay. This was also my partners birthday weekend trip and it really put a damper on our trip to have to go through this experience.

Phenomenal stay! We usually do vacation homes like air bnbs and such, but not this time and I wasn't disappointed. The room was nice and spacious, and we had a full stove/oven to use. The fridge was clean, the bedroom was clean no signs of critters anywhere. The bed was comfy i immediately fell asleep each time my head hit those softest pillows. We had a living room space separate from the bedroom I loved that ! Staff was friendly and spoke each chance they had noone over-did conversation or made you feel like they weren't interested at all it was a good mixture lol. I would overall absolutely come back to stay here while coming back to Charleston.Nearby activities: Things to do range from about a 20 to 30 minutes drive, but it's so worth it. Once you make the drive to one attraction there's like 50 other things to do in the same area or surrounding. We did a haunted horse drawn carriage ride which was super nice. We were downtown during this time so there were bars and restaurants and water all around us. We also did a fishing charter with Skinny Water Charters that's was phenomenal ! We had the best time.Food & drinks: Soooo many places to eat and drink absolutely no shortage and so much to choose from lol.

My husband and I stayed here almost 4 months. They have the most friendly staff ever the front desk treats you like family anything you need or have an issue with they are right on top of it making sure you enjoy your stay. They have an amazing breakfast every morning as well as Mon thru Thursday they serve dinner and drinks including wine and beer. The staff that works in the dining room is amazing everyone is very friendly. Free laundry awell. I would most definitely recommend this hotel.

My recent stay at the TownePlace Suites Charleston-North Charleston was unfortunately marred by some unexpected and frustrating issues. Firstly, my credit card was charged a full week before my arrival date, which has never happened to me as a Bonvoy member in the past. This early and non-transparent charge caused unnecessary concern and inconvenience.Secondly, I was unable to make any updates to my reservation online or through the app, something that has always been possible up to 72 hours before check-in at any other Marriott properties I've stayed at. This lack of flexibility significantly limited my ability to manage my plans effectively.These unexpected hurdles significantly detracted from my overall experience at the TownePlace Suites Charleston-North Charleston and fell short of the standards I've come to expect from Marriott. I kindly request that you investigate these issues and ensure that other guests do not encounter similar difficulties in the future.

My adult daughter and I were guests at TownPlace Suites for three months while my house was being worked on. We were in separate rooms and my daughter had her little puppy with her and I am very pleased with everything! I will recommend this hotel to friends!

We stayed here on Monday, December 11, 2023 in room 218 and wish we hadn’t. From first appearance the bedroom looked clean until we got a close up on the bed. The bed trim had stains on it that looked like seminal fluid. After reviewing the bed sheets I noticed a stain. We asked front desk for a new fitted sheet. We went downstairs to retrieve it and found it sitting on the counter with no guest service staff there to apologize for the inconvenience of having to change the sheets. When we pulled back the covers the bed cover had brown sweat and old semen stains. To make matters worse, there are roaches in the room. Lastly, the towels and wash clothes are worn out and thin. If you make a mistake and wash too hard it would tear the cloth in half. This hotel needs to hire an exterminator, change their bed covers, vacuum in between the gaps of the bed to remove hair and dust, buy new towels and bed linen. Needless to say WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!

I want to start off by saying I absolutely love Marriott Hotels ? I am a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member. But this hotel was my worst experience ever. I hate to leave bad reviews but it’s the truth. I swear I killed at least 10-12 cockroaches The staff members were great. Very nice group of people but the actual room was horrible.

Stayed here Sept 29th-Oct 2nd. Had to be moved from the room we originally checked in due to us waking up to ROACHES in the kitchen and bathroom. They then moved us to another suite in which we found ROACHES there also. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! ??? I have videos I will post on Facebook and tag this hotel in.

Yes ?? Absolutely loved our stay here! Anthony at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Room was great! Will be staying here next time in Charleston.
