Rooms: Had to change rooms upon arrival, 2nd room not much better. From the bed linen to the towels every thing was Damp or wet.
Safety: Seemed like a safe enough area.
Noteworthy details: Pool looked like it was disease infested. Needless to say, we never seen anyone in it.

Was quoted $109 online and over the phone and told dogs were welcome for $20 fee. When we arrived the room was suddenly $160 and there was a $100 CASH ONLY pet deposit. Total scam.

They don't care about their guests!
My daughter arrived at this hotel after paying for her room in advance, and she was not allowed to check in because they required a $100 deposit. There was no mention of a needed deposit when she received her confirmation.
I was told that some of these hotels that tend to have a lot of undesirables staying there will often ask for a deposit, but my daughter was visiting from NC and didn't know anything about that. She was just trying to find an affordable room for her and my grandbaby to stay. Plus, this is far from an extended Stay type of hotel where a deposit is an expectation.
Anyway, they persisted in refusing to acknowledge her pre-paid reservation, refunded her payment (she was told she would get in 3-10 business days) leaving her with no money to get a room at another hotel in the area. They just left her and my grandson out in the pouring rain with their bags! They wouldn't even let her stay for one night to get out of the rain and make other arrangements!
Luckily, I have friends in the area to put her up for a couple of days! Friends who, after picking her up, told me that this hotel was one of the worst in the area and that she dodged a bullet anyway. Her safety might have been an issue. So I'm at least glad to know she is safe. But shame on them for doing that to visiting guest. Choice Hotels really needs to have a look at this property.

Easy booking through priceline and decent prices, just a standard motel room no bugs etc and motel breakfast. Was also able to cancel easily after we thought we needed an extra day and we didn't.

For a one-night rest, it may be fine, but if it is several days and a weekend is over, I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! I had a shooting inside the hotel and one person died as a result of the shooting, the room is comfortable, but it really needs good maintenance, the breakfast is average: oatmeal, cereal, juice and coffee...the pool is good too, it has good parking space, the service is good!, the attention is very good from of the staff, but unfortunately it is located in a very conflictive area and that makes it a bad place to stay.

Housekeeper didn't clean very well.left dirty sheets on the bed and hair in the shower. Also there was some sticky substance on the nightstand .I was really disgusted.

Words can’t explain how shocked we were to arrive at this hotel after a 17 hour drive and see the state of our room. Although it was a smoking room it was FILTHY. We stayed an hour before booking a different hotel and checking out. The staff were all very sweet and helpful but it wasn’t anywhere close to enough to make up for the mess.

Decent nothing lavish. Some people are just too picky. Look at the local guide reviews for more even balanced review. I took a look at quite a few of the places around here, The extended stays and a few others that were less expensive. Although this place wasn't the cheapest, its still inexpensive. Outstanding customer service. The lady at the front office, D was so nice and helpful. From the other reviews, I've seen they've made improvements. A working man's establishment. Me and my wife are here on business and some of the other places we looked at we're too seedy. Roadway seems a bit more discerning. Don't let the dilapidated looks fool you. The rooms were decent, nice quality. Many motels around north Charleston look better on their facades but rooms were trash, or unsafe. I'll book again at the roadway. Heres a pro tip for the owners: Get an ozone machine, like the ones that companies use to clean homes after fire damage, It will rid any room of any type of smell, even musty odors. Or switch to fabuloso cleaning supply--it will leave a rosy scent in the rooms.

Room was decent. Not the best. Broken doors. Coat racks falling off wall. Burn holes in bedding. Evidence of bugs on the bed. Service was rude with unknown random knocking on the door throughout the days constantly waking up our child. Constant bugging about cleaning the room every single day. Charging our card extra without consent or our knowledge. Very rude customer service. And the pet policy is crazy. Does not help those in need. Do Not Stay Here.
Rooms: Small. Multiple parts broken including bathroom door and coat rack falling off. Half the lights don't work. Constant cold air leaks.
Safety: Monitored with security but still very loud. Lots of banging and slamming doors and no respect. Very unsafe for children.
Food & drinks: Breakfast was bar minimum. And no vending anywhere for anyone.
