I have been calling for 48 hours trying get a hold of someone at this License location for hertz. They never pick up the phone, additionally, my presidents circle support line has now told me twice “tough luck, we can’t do anything because it’s a license location.”

Scheduled and paid for a car to pick up at 0600 to attend family day with our son in the army. Nobody working the desk, and customer service said we'd just have to wait for someone to show up... hours... flew half way across the country to visit him. Make other plans.

Status doesn't matter here since they don't use their Gold/Presidents Circle/5 Star. You end up with whatever vehicle they decide, the line is always long with 1 worker at the counter. Heaven help you if you aren't flying in because you can't go straight to the rental cars, but inside the terminal to the counter.

It’s just not worth renting from Hertz in Charleston if you expect to have the smooth process you are promised everywhere else. Since my flight was arriving at 11:30PM, I called Hertz to confirm my President’s Club benefits would be in place and I could just go straight to the lot, and since this was confirmed by Hertz over the phone, I went straight to the lot with my wife and son, only to discover there are no keys in any of the cars. So now it’s 12AM and I’m headed back to the terminal while my family waits in the garage. It’s all just silly and unnecessary. Why would the Charleston Hertz need to work differently than the other 10+ airports I rented from this year for my business travel? The front desk clerk was perfectly pleasant, but that doesn’t make up for having to still be standing in line at 12:30AM, and then, since I can’t choose the appropriate car, being assigned a 7-passenger SUV to drive into a city with streets as tight as Charleston. I added a photo of the world’s least helpful Hertz board.

The rudest customer service EVER. Our reservation wasn’t available once we got there, nor did the employee “ give a shit” and let us know about it. AVIS was a lot more courteous and professional , highly recommend them.

Decided to rent a car for a weekend trip to Charleston. Diane was very unpleasant and nasty. She must have been having a bad day because she was NOT nice at all. We declined extra insurance through Hertz because we’re protected via my credit card and she didn’t take no for an answer. Treated us like garbage. We will NOT be using Hertz ever again.

I've been trying to reach someone for 2 days to get a receipt that has the correct information on it. The receipt shows a different credit card was charged than the one that was actually charged so I am not able to provide a reimburesment. It just rings with no answer and I am not able to leave a voicemail either. Corporate cannot assist because this is a Franchise location. Please do not use this location if at all possible!
I cannot message through the link you provided. If someone would kindly answer the phone and email me a receipt that shows the actual credit card that was charged that would be great!!

I would not recommend renting from this location. The pick up of the vehicle was smooth but all bets were off when it came to returning the vehicle. We were caught in an incoming storm and could not get a hold of the Charleston office to talk about alternatives. We were charged over $300 more than the original price for dropping the car at another office despite being told by Hertz’s main office that we would be OK to drop at a different location due to the storm. We were also charged for fuel even though the tank was returned full. We have tried calling numerous times and the phone keeps ringing but no one ever answered. The customer service after pickup was beyond frustrating and we still cannot get a hold of anyone. Save yourself the trouble and rent from National.

Awful experience. This business does not have enough help. No accommodations available for physically/ cognitively impaired individuals. Distance from counter to car pick-up location is too far for impaired person.

No wonder the extreme low ratings. Their president circle benefit doesn't work here. So I had to walk all the way back to the counter and the line was gigantic for only one poor attendant who had to deal with all those unhappy customers. What's the purpose of benefits if Hertz don't actually offer them?! Just ridiculous!

No Gold services. Don’t even hold a car for Gold members, now on a wait list for whenever a car is ready as they don’t even upgrade you if they don’t have anything available. Received an email late the night before about no gold services, which does no good when you’re asleep and have an early morning flight.

Horrible. My reservation was 6:30 I've been waiting here for over 40 minutes. I'm still waiting at 9:00 this is totally unacceptable.

Awful in every possible way. First of all- it is not an actual hertz- it’s some weird franchise that doesn’t follow hertz rules and makes you pay extra fees beyond hertz pre-booking. They will use this as an excuse to not honor anything about a reservation or hertz’s normal benefits.
Over 1 hour for 2 clerks to get check in 3 people before me. Did not honor the in garage policy for chairman’s circle. I pre-paid for car seats; they took my money and made me pay again, then they were out of car seats so they sent to a lost & found where they had my take filthy car seats- but I still had to pay double !
This experience was so bad I may actually never use hertz again in case there are other places that claim they are not an actual hertz and take a
Dump on you like these people do. I feel it for the people that work here
