Before I get to this, I went to the N.Charleston Store on Feb 20th. The store had damaged stock on the racks (multiple Guitars, I took pics) and the store was very cluttered, not a clean environment. (I have been to other Guitar Centers, this is not how they should be) Here is the actual problem--BAIT and SWITCH is ILLEGAL--...I purchased a VOX Limited-Edition AC10C1 10W 1x10 Creamback Combo Guitar Amp Tan on Tan on Feb 20, 2024. I received an email directly stating: "Thank you for your recent order. We wanted to let you know that your gear is not available at our warehouse, but we have it in stock here at Guitar Center 774-LAKELAND. We can ship your order from here, with no further action required from you." It continued, "However, the item does not have its original packaging, but it is brand new and the full manufacturer's warranty applies. You have several options regarding your order. Proceed with the item as is Request the item new in box Contact me to discuss further Cancel the item Click here to provide a response" To which I responded with "Request the item new in box". I never recieved any response from Guitar Center indicating they had heard my response or anything related to the product. I called the Guitar Center in Lakeland on FEB 27th at the number provided (BTW I am in Charleston SC) and spoke with the mgr there. I asked him what the status was of my item and he said there were None at the warehouse (which is what the email said) and it was backordered and would BE AVAILABLE on March 31st/April 1st. I asked then about the "new" Vox Limited Amps he had there and he had 2, said they were new but not in the original box. I said, well, have they been on your sales floor for everyone to play, he said yes, then I said, those are not new then, thats not what NEW means. I said no thanks I would rather wait on the Item on the backordered date he provided. Then, I get this notification literally a few hours ago today, March 6th, 2024--" We're sorry, but the below gear is no longer available. We have canceled the order for you, and no further action is required. If you're looking for alternatives, please call us and we'll help you out." I am steaming about this. To make matters even worse, they still have the item on their website like you can actually still buy this Amp. They tried to use Bait and Switch by indicating a "used" item is the same as a "new " item, that is unacceptable. They failed to communicate to me in any way about there not being any way to purchase a New Vox Amp. Needless to say I will never shop with Guitar Center ever again. I hope this review helps someone who may shop or shops there. PS-I have my order #, screenshots, and all emails to prove what happened here. I will also be contacting the BBB in regard to this.

Counter sales sucks! Young kids to busy talking to other employees to help the customers! What a waist! Manager needs to wake up! I’d give it one star, but since it’s Guitar Center I’ll give it 2.

Bought a nice Epiphone ES 335 for really cheap. The switch began to malfunction so I took it back for warranty service expecting a fight but no. The repair tech called Gibson who approved the service and I now have a perfectly functioning guitar.UPDATE: Check your receipts before leaving the store. For example: 1) Purchased item. Found out when I got home the receipt showed an extended warranty charge. I did not request an extended warranty. 2) Found a small but unauthorized charge for Guitar Center's charitable organization, a legitimate charity, but I did not approve the donation. In both cases the store reversed the charges. 3) Bought a bass guitar. Looking at the receipt later it showed I purchased a Stratocaster with a different serial number than the bass. In order to use the factory warranty I need a receipt for the bass, the actual thing I bought. These three instances required time and effort to rectify. I hesitate to buy anything from the store now. Two stars off for the hassle.

They have no technicians on the premises. The store was disorganized and filthy. I was repulsed.

This place is a wreck. I thought the store was closed down when I drove up. There were huge empty boxes just sitting in front of the store. The pictures others have posted on the interior are outdated. I should have taken a few more. Large amount of items (guitar straps drum heads) all over the floors.When I walked in, one of the two people working there looked up then put his head back in his phone. Later, I walked near the other associate who was near the register and he ignored me as well.I did end up talking to the first person. I had a guitar someone gave me with a Floyd Rose that I needed help getting some strings on. Apparently, their guitar tech quit a few weeks back.They have some good merchandise. Good luck finding it or getting help.Shop online at one of the many other stores.

I went in today (12/23) wanting to just see if they had any left handed guitars, and of course as I expected there were only two electric and one acoustic. The acoustic was really good for the price but the two electrics were either low quality or way overpriced. The guy who showed me the acoustic was also a left-handed player and gave some advice on it. Overall a well experience but PLEASE GUITAR CENTER, just have a couple electrics for something of a decent price. I mean really, $800 for a used Ibanez?

Had an issue with a purchase, came in and spoke with Josh and his manager. They both quickly took care of my problem with no issue. Thank you guys for the help. Will be back thanks to these two gentlemen.
