My dog told me to post a positive review, so here it is! These people love dogs, which is what you want in this sort of place. Definitely a too tier doggie day care place in the area.

I’ve used Charleston Dog House multiple times to board my sweet boy Jax while away on vacation. They have been great every single time. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The dogs get plenty of attention and exercise and the live web cams provide the comfort we need while away. Will definitely be using them again in the future.

I left my dog there for 5 days while we were on vacation and we returned 2 days ago. When I picked him up one of his eyes was extremely red and the other one was pink. No one bothered calling to let me know. He also had an upset belly and had an accident in my house that night and he NEVER does that! I took him to the vet the next morning and he had pink eye and I'm still waiting on fecal results to make sure there is no parasite. He was also supposed to have a bath but I guess they only washed the top of him because there was hardened junk stuck all in the hair under his chin. Also, he seemed not himself like as if someone had treated him poorly. I went to give him his medicine in pb like I always do and when I went to hold his chin up so he would swallow it he was like cowarding down like he was scared. Not like him at all! They told me he didn't bark much except when he had to go to the bathroom. Not true at all. My dog barks at every dog, person, noise etc which he showed at the vet when I took him! They need cameras inside instead of just on the outside! And the paperwork you have to fill out prior to their stay basically says that if your dog dies in their care then they are not responsible. My dog won't be going there again! The price is good, but you get what you pay for. I've been giving my dog lots of love and I gave him a good bath today and he's finally getting back to himself. I feel totally guilty for leaving him there.

On vacation I brought my dog Pickles to a different boarding facility. Pickles is nervous with humans, great with dogs. I felt horrible leaving her at that other place and she sat in a kennel all day because they were afraid or something. We bring Pickles to the Charleston Dog House, same thing Pickles is nervous and barking but you can immediately tell the staff there knows what they are doing and how to handle it. About an hour later we check the cameras in the play area AND THERE IS PICKLES RUNNING AROUND PLAYING. My wife is very attached to the dog and it completely took any concerns she had off the table and we could enjoy the day. Thank you Charleston Dog House l, especially all the staff that worked 6/10. Pickles is not fond of guys, but the young man that took her to the back that day had perfect demeanor to handle it. You guys working that day have no idea how wonderful you guys are and how you let us enjoy a family day without anything to worry about. You guys are rock stars!!!

Very friendly and tentative staff. I brought my 2 dogs here after another facility was unable to appropriately take care of them. The staff were very helpful in ensuring my dogs were comfortable and took their meds as required.

*UPDATE*The manager reached out to me and explained that, given how my dogs reacted the first few days, they were not supervised while eating. Additionally, CHS Dog House recently received quite a few new donation toys, and the kennel next to my pups at night was occupied by 2 very-shed-y pups. Lastly, the entire area is concrete or tile... So dogs with bladder issues in any context may struggle at daycare and/or may struggle with the transition back to being home. Overall, the manager was able to give answers to my concerns. I am still not thrilled at the care my dogs received last week, but CHS Dog House assured me that if I use them again, that if I give more specific directions, that my dogs will hopefully have a better experience. I would like whoever reads this to learn from my experience; GIVE THEM AS MUCH DETAIL AS POSSIBLE, even if your dogs tend to be easy. I am unsure if I will be using CHS Dog House again.Original Review:My dogs are my children. I went out of town for just over a week, and I picked up my dogs today. I have a 15-pound dachshund, and a 70-lb aussie. The staff loved on my dogs, that much is obvious. For that, I give them multiple stars; my dogs are happy and exhausted and well (maybe over?) fed. But, for the pee-stained dog bed, the dachshund vomiting the Aussie's food after I picked them up, the missing toys, the inclusion of someone else's toys, and the awful-smelling dog-hair-covered state of everything I picked up today reduces my rating to just a 2-star.I have contacted Charleston Dog House about my experience, and am awaiting a response from management. I will update when a manager is available to talk with me.

Went on a 2 week business trip back in 2020 and used this boarding place for my 14 year old Jack Russel, when I came back she had lost 1/4th of her body weight and was stumbling almost in a daze in the office. When I asked what happened, they said she was behaving well and ate her meals. I put her on 10 different diets trying to get her back to where she was, and she sadly died 2 months later. I dont recommend this place, the complete lack of attention towards my dog and lack of notification that anything was wrong makes me believe they legitimately don't care for the dogs they look after.Hopefully this business has improved in the last 3 years, but I will never give them business again.

Love the webcams! It's nice to see your pups playing. Safe place for a puppy vacation, while you're on vacation.

We were disappointed to learn daycare was canceled when we dropped off our dog due to "the weather was too cold" (it was in the 40s). There was no heads up. We still had to pay for the day for our dog to not get any playtime.

I brought my dog a shitzu, bishon mix there for a 5 day stay while on vacation April 15, 2022.. When I made the reservation I was quoted $30 per day. I informed the staff that he wasn't really social with other dogs and they informed me that they would try him in daycare (outside) and see how he does. I thought that was a great idea!! Never was I told there was an additional fee of $8 a day to socialize him with other dogs outside. So for the whole stay he would have been just locked in his suite all day and walked they claimed 4 times a day to use the bathroom. So what am I paying for? Why is there an additional fee added to let him play outside with other dogs?? I'm not understanding. Then when I came to pick him up my rate changed from $30 a day to $36 a day, fees for outside time of $8 a day was added as well. So they had my total at $220 for a 5 day stay. I tried calling everyday to check and see how my dog was adjusting, they don't answer the phones. tried viewing the cameras not one I could view, and all I got was it's not browser friendly and was told someonewas at the desk all day that wasn't true at all!!! In a 5 day period I got someone on the phone twice. He smelled so bad of urine when I picked him up not sure if he layed in it his entire stay but it was unbearable to inhale. He was wet they said he was in a pool. I am just beyond unhappy with this place!!! I will never take him back. In closing I left there only paying what I was quoted $30 a day and no extra charge for outside time.
