Sunshine House has the best staff! They’re super sweet and engaging with my child and they communicate well and often with the parents. I feel really good about leaving my kid with his teachers, Miss Angela and Miss Logan. They’re very thoughtful about their classroom activities and seem to really love what they do. I have had great interactions with the directors too! Very friendly and professional staff all around.

My son has been going to Sunshine House since he was 6 months old, I was very nervous to send him not knowing how he would do, but they have been fantastic. He is now 2 and has loved it. He has attached to every teacher in every classroom he’s been in and they have been so good to him. I LOVE the app, I can see what he’s ate and when. They keep me updated about his activities throughout the day! They have always gone above and beyond for my boy… couldn’t ask for a better staff!

My daughter has been very well taken care of at north augusta sunshine house since she was 6 weeks old. She is 2 now and has loved her time in each classroom she has been in so far which includes the infant room (6 wk - 1 yr), toddler room (1-2 yr), and now explorers room (2-3 yr). Everyday I drop her off she is greeted with a big hug from a smiling caregiver. I was hesitant at first trusting people I barely know to care for my child all day, but I quickly learned to trust them and feel comfortable leaving her in their care because from early on as an infant i saw the big smile on my baby’s face when she entered the room and hugged her teachers each morning. I know that even though she couldn’t actually communicate to me in words her body language shows that she is happy to see them and therefore I know she is well taken care of. I truly believe the teachers and school director treat her with as much love they would provide to their own child. She often comes home with new milestones, skills, and words and I’m truly amazed at how much she learns during her time there. I will soon be happy to enroll my second daughter and am confident she will receive all the love and care that she needs while I’m working during the day. Many thanks to everyone at north augusta sunshine house for taking such good care of my daughter and soon her little sister as well!

Being a first time mother I was terrified of having to send my child off to daycare. The Sunshine house made it very warm and welcoming! My daughter is obsessed with Ms. Arlene and always looks like she is having the time of her life when I get pictures through the app!

The director tries to push reportable instances under the rug by handing out her cell number and promising you can call her with anything. But when push comes to shove, she believes her staff over physical evidence. And since there are no cameras in the facility it always comes down to a he said/she said. The staff do not know how to interact with parents or respond to questions about protocol. And if the director isn't present, issues will be pushed off as "well that's not common practice". If the teachers decide they don't like you, they'll take it into their own hands to try to force you out - by possibly endangering your child.

My toddler attended for a little over a year. I was not pleased on many aspects. They advertise an app but never used it. Do not feel like there was consistency in teachers. I had several incidents that my child was injured and didn't get the report on time even after requesting it. Poor communication with management and teachers to parents. Never was adequately staffed. Very expensive and not worth it. It was 165 a week for my 2 year old. Wait list is impossible. Staff dont stay long.

They shared an email that there was a positive COVID case but remained open. They refused to notify me whether my son was exposed and said they were following guidelines that they were not obligated to say whether it was a teacher, student or parent. I explained that they did not have to tell me who it was at all but considering the fact that I have a son with health issues and I myself just went through treatment this week, it was only fair to say whether or not our kids came in contact with whoever. They did not shut down any classrooms, refused to tell me and said they were just following instructions. We just moved here and I went with them because ot was the same daycare my son has been in since we were in a different state. The other sunshine house took safety precautions and cared about student and family well being. This one does not. On top of that, they are not accommodating at all. I had to ask numerous times about putting cards on file so it's easier for me to pay due to my arrangements with my sons dad. They said a lot of parents were having issues getting their kids by 5pm because of work schedules (esp mission essential parents like myself) but wouldn't accomodate the hours. According to the director, it was the directors decision because of not wanting to pay over time. Honestly, they are jeopardizing my health and my sons health and I'm tired of it.

My husband and I chose this daycare for our child after reading the website’s reviews and touring the facility. After our tour, the daycare seemed perfect for our son.I did come across a few complaints via the ABC website, but all of those concerns were addressed on our tour by the daycare director, Kim. Well, I thought they were honestly addressed.Shortly after my son was placed in his class, his teacher quit and his time at Sunshine house went down hill from there. The things I read about improper supervision turned out to be true. My son was in a class on most days with 19+ students and 1 ill-prepared teacher. His new teacher eventually quit too. After 2 years at this facility and my son still not being able to advance to his proper age appropriate class, I demanded that he be placed in the right class. He was placed in the correct class but it was extremely hard to plead my case as to why my 3 1/2 year old should no longer be in the 2 year old class! It was as if the director had no plans to advance him if I didn’t mention it.My husband and I also chose this daycare because of the interactive app. However, we learned that the app is never updated. This was a huge issue for us, because this daycare has no cameras! Because the app is never updated, we were left to take the word of staff which often differed from our child’s version.I didn’t feel comfortable with how my child was looked after or nurtured. It felt as if the entire staff was ill equipped to work with children. Too often did I witness harsh talking to the children and children being improperly supervised. The teachers are overworked, underpaid and stressed and the children reflect that.

Best decision I’ve ever made. The staff is friendly and will go above and beyond to meet any need you have. I strongly recommend this daycare center to anyone. I don’t have to worry about my daughters safety while My daughter is in their care. The staff becomes your family!

This place has no idea how to care for an infant. My 2 month old daughter has been there for 3 weeks and her health has been put at risk multiple times. The first was when we caught one of the workers letting my daughter sleep on her side in a boppy, which is a suffocation hazard. The second thing that happened was, after a week of hiding that this was going on, we found out that same worker had been transferring the breast milk from the bottles I had prepared to a separate bottle to warm it, and then transferred it back. Lastly, I just found holes poked in the nipples of several bottles that only ever go to daycare. This is unacceptable and should be seen as such by management. How they can continuously ignore safe practices and still be licensed is beyond me.

My kids love this center! The staff is always friendly, the building is always clean, and they are a nut free facility!! My son has food allergies and this center is great when making sure that any kind of nuts do not enter the building! Each room has a learning program they go by for each age level, my kids are always coming home teaching me something new! It's hard being a parent, we are always scared of leaving are children with anyone, but this center is the only one that I would ever recommend!! My kids love it here and seeing the smiles on their face when I pick them up let me know I made a great choice!

The directors and staff at Sunshine House are so amazing! Life can be so hectic, but when you walk inside to start your day or get your babes at the end of the day there's always somebody to cheer you up. Their warm smiles are priceless. I know my children are in the best care at this facility. I refuse to send my boys anyplace else. They've got me spoiled to the fact they provide the best love to my sons. It's even better the 2nd child around with all the technology because I recieve emails about his day and pictures often. When I show my baby his pictures he lights up with excitement. The teachers have it rough a lot of days and they always smile and are so patient! The positive environment and friendliness just makes you feel at home. The staff truly are family. If there's a waiting list when you call I can assure you its well worth the wait!
