I had an injury to my face that required stitches and was extremely nervous, I had Dr Tyler Welter and he was amazing, he was gentle and informative and did a great job closing my wound. The facility was under renovation but I still received great care with little wait time. I highly recommend

The worst “hospital “ I’ve ever been to in my life, I rushed my son in because he was having chest pains and couldn’t breathe, when I came into the emergency room there was no one in the front desk, there was a cop talking to someone and told me I had to sign in on the computer, my son ran to the bathroom to throw up and about 10 min later a little girl came out the back and told me he has to wait his turn, I called 911 because they were taking too long, once the girl returned back I told her he’s having chest pains and needs to be seen ASAP she says I’ll see who I can get, and strolls to the back. They are too relaxed here for an emergency room with no attention to people’s care whatsoever. Will never come here again!

Preys on vulnerable disabled people who have no grasp on their conditions and forces them to pay absurd amounts of money AFTER insurance they know they can't pay, all with no solution to the problem. You will all reap what you sow.

My husband was recently at South Strand Emergency Room.We could not have asked for better treatment. His nurse was Jerry, a big burly gentle man. He was so wonderful!!We always get good treatment when we go to South Strand

When it comes to mental health they don't care, my son went for mental health help and because he didn't show symptoms of mental health and he had illegal drugs in his system from trying to commit suicide the night before.

This Is The Absolute WORST!!!!!! Service I Have Ever Gotten From South Strand. I Have Been Coming Here For Years. Unfortunately The Worst Experience Had To Be With My Sick 3 Year Old. I Am Currently Writing This Review Waiting In The Waiting Room Of The ER ! HIGHLY EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! I’m Also A Health Care Worker And The Care Here Tonight Was Not Putting The Patient Needs First !!!

I tried to go to the emergency room & was astonished by their antiquated check-in process. No human contact at all. Waited an hour and still was not called up. Got smart & left!!! No one should ever go there for emergency needs!!!!!

A loved one died at this hospital recently, I think the ER staff need additional courses in compassion. Didnt see any empathy or kindness, just staff that came across as though we were intruding. Made a tragic situation even worse.

My partner was taken to this hospital due to fainting. His heart rate was low. I was told by the attending physician that he had to be transported to Grand Stand Hospital so a Cardiologist could see him and they could do a stress test and other heart related test. I asked her if those test could be done as an out patient and she replied yes but that would go against medical judgement. He never saw a Cardiologist at Grand Strand Hospital. What I was told by her was not true. I feel I was lied to at South Strand Medical Hospital. It is so disheartening when you can't trust a Doctor's word.

I visited South Strand’s emergency department on 11/26/23 due to an uncontrolled 103 fever. Despite checking my vitals, the doctor was dismissive, saying, ‘I don’t do flu or covid tests because they don’t really matter.’ My concerns about the high fever were overlooked. The next day, still unwell, I passed out while in the passenger seat with my family, a frightening experience. Later, another emergency department diagnosed me with the flu. Based on this, I advise against South Strand for high fever cases, as they may not take your symptoms seriously.

On November 5th, around 6pm we rushed my 9 year old daughter to the ER for a badly broken arm. There were a whole team of nurses and doctors in there to take care of her. Every single one of them were absolutely AMAZING. I can specifically remember Dr. Riley Spencer and nurse Kassandra (with a K)The whole team helped her avoid surgery by realigning her arm perfectly. They helped keep her calm and she's been talking about all of them since. We are so grateful!

I went here yesterday in some pretty excruciating pain. This use to be my go to hospital for emergencies but I’ll never step foot in here again.I had severe lower/right stomach pain as well as vomiting, thinking maybe it was appendicitis. I’ve never felt so dismissed as a patient anywhere. No one asked questions other than what my symptoms were. Nothing about what had lead up to it, when they started, etc. They didn’t even check my temperature. They told me all blood work came back fine, did a ct scan, and said I had an inflamed liver and diagnosed me with cirrhosis of the liver. Mind you I’m only 30 and barely ever drink alcohol or take any kind of medications. The treatment they recommended was alternating TYLENOL and ibuprofen. After they had told me I had a bad liver. They didn’t even offer any fluids and I was severely dehydrated and nothing for pain. I went home and the pain got worse so I decided to go to waccamaw because something was not right! I’ve been through labor and I know what pain feels like enough to feel the need to go to the emergency room and this was right up there with that! Waccamaw pulled my records and noticed south strand found fluid around my liver, spleen, and pelvis. They discussed none of that with me at south strand. Cirrhosis of the liver is a pretty alarming thing to be diagnosed with!! Waccamaw was very thorough with me and went above and beyond to try to get to the bottom of what was going on with me. My liver is healthy as can be! The only good thing I have to say about south strand was the new young nurse taking my blood, she was amazing and I feel she was too good to be working for this place. I don’t know what happened to this emergency department but I’ve never felt so neglected, not to mention some serious malpractice going on here and I will be speaking to someone in a higher position about this. I never leave bad reviews. I understand people and places have their off days but this was absolutely unacceptable!!Update: After further testing with waccamaw, they discovered it was a hemorrhagic ruptured cyst on my right ovary with internal bleeding!!Shame on you south strand for treating me like I was some sort of alcoholic and pushing me out of the door!!
