Very disappointed in the Myrtlebeach Camp. Never received any paperwork or a receipt until 2 days prior. Show up and find out only 20 people max are at camp. This is our last camp with them.

A horribly run program. The weekend camp was an absolute waste of money. Not only was there little instruction but the communication within the program was non-existent. With so many quality camps out there it’s better to find one that really cares and is professionally run.

Organization is a scam. I ask any fellow official asked to officiate to boycott them. They bait and switch on amount your going to be paid or how many you going to work a game. I was promised 120 a game with at least 2 other officials and be paid on the spot. After I get there I sent to another site where an official was by himself violating our covered insurance as you cannot officiate tackle football alone. Then said other officials will come but we would only be paid 40 a game. After two games other officials never showed Herb never talked to us and we never got paid. When we said we were leaving staff seemed not to care.

Our boys played in their first tournament this weekend in Myrtle Beach. Our team traveled 6 hours to play in this tournament which was a complete let down. 1) we were promised 2 games guaranteed. That did not happen. They lied, gave the run around and ultimately stole our money. 2) Our families bought weekend passes $20 adults $10 for kids. Obviously we didn’t get to use them. Went to get 1/2 my money back in which the guy working the tent tried to tell me it’s $5 a ticket for refunds. Absolutely NOT! 3) During our one game we did play, the rules were not followed. We had a running clock during the 4th quarter. Every other game did not. This truly was a disappointment and the most unorganized, money scamming business I have ever met. Seriously, these are children who just want to play football. Win or lose they want to play and your shady business robbed them from having that opportunity.

Parents please use extreme caution when choosing a football camp for your child. This camp is unsafe. And their coaches and administrators take absolutely no responsibility for their actions, lack of professionalism, and lack of supervision. My son was injured at this camp, and is now forced to miss the beginning of his football season at a new school (where he still has to prove himself to the coaches). Below is the letter I sent to offense-defense (names removed), that they haven't even bothered responding to (even after multiple calls to ask for the status). They hung up on me the last time i called. The coaches allowed poor tackling technique. The child who injured ---- led in with his helmet, and speared ---- in the shoulder. ----'s shoulder was dislocated on initial contact (---- told me this is when he felt significant pain in his shoulder). ---- immediately told him to stop, but the child drove him into the ground anyway. The child was spoken to on the side later, which told me the coaches knew what he had been doing. ---- told me, while we were in the emergency room waiting for treatment, that several of the boys at the camp were repeatedly spearing. These children were not being corrected, and were continuing to use this dangerous tackling technique. When I asked Mr. ----, the camp director, about this, he told me that it was hard to break bad tackling habits of some of the children, and that he was having his coaches pay closer attention to tackling technique now. When I asked Mr. ---- why the coaches didn't teach and reinforce proper tackling technique before the head to head tackling drills, he didn't have an answer. Communication was not good. ---- told me that during the drill in which he was injured, the ball carriers were told to let the tacklers tackle them. Basically, run at half speed while the tacklers run at full speed. My concern here is when one player is told to go at half speed, but he is going head to head against a player going full speed, bad things are bound to happen. When I brought this up to Mr. ----, he dismissed it as poor communication, and reminded me that football is a rough sport. My question here is: Who is in charge of communication? I think you would agree that the coaches need to ensure that the players understand each drill, and what they should be doing in each drill. When the players say or demonstrate that they don't understand, the coaches need to make corrections. Apparently, this was not happening. I signed my son up to get reps as a defensive back for this camp, his main passion in football. My understanding was that this is a position specific camp. The coaches had him doing running back, wide receiver, and linebacker drills. He was with the quarterbacks when he was injured. Very little DB work. ---- has played, and excelled, at these other positions. But his focus right now is to develop his skills as a DB. I took him to this camp to help him fine tune his DB techniques. When I was looking for a football camp for my son to attend this summer, I was very impressed with what I read about Offense-Defense. I thought this camp was position specific, and about refining technique. I thought there would be instruction on proper tackling. Most of all, I thought this would be a safe way for my son to get some practice and refinement in the offseason, with pads on. I fear my trust was misplaced.
