DO NOT USE THEM! I reserved a sedan in advance but when I got there they said they only had a pickup truck. What is the point of the reservation then? I felt like I was in that episode of Seinfeld. But they kept saying how 'lucky' I was. Why would I want something twice a big, less practical, with worse gas mileage? I was with one other person with 1 suitcase. The man behind the counter didn't really make sense explaining to me why they didn't have my reserved vehicle, and the lady with the wig was incredibly rude the whole process. They also said they were the only ones to rent to people under 25. But I found out that Enterprise (right next to them) did. So not only did they not keep or honor my reservation, but they lied to me as well. Enterprise gave me what I needed, faster, and for cheaper :) SO DO NOT USE HERTZ, use anyone else.

Don't rent from this location! I clicked one star. Otherwise, it wouldn't let me post this.I've been a Hertz Customer for 7 years, President's circle. They took advantge of me and are trying to nail me from some extremely small dent that either already existed or occured after my rental.Prior to this, one of my co workers tried to rent from here. They said there was a problem with his license and he couldn't rent--stranded in MYR and had to UBER all the way to Florence, SC. ($300 in Uber Fees).As for my situation, they didn't even have the courtesy to contact me direct. They turned me over to some claim company. In which case, it was over a week later, and they keep harrassing me, and I had no idea there was even an issue. The rental before, they charged me $8 for returning a vehichle with a full tank.I'll be in touch with Hertz Corporate and don't appreciate being harrased, considering how loyal I've been to Hertz and how well I actually treat their equipment and always return it on time with no damage. I hope it's worth it to the manager, who I thought valued his position.Was it/is it really worth it? Ask yourself that as I'll be renting from AVIS, from here on out, due to your location's scammery.Do you see any damage on the enclosed pic of the vehichle I rented?

Update: I was refunded for my the rental and ended up renting another from a different company.Horrible customer service from the people at the counter. Made the reservation 2 months prior, contacted the site in person a week prior to ensure that there would be no issues for the business trip, all to get a RWD car when I had requested a all or 4WD. Then had to go back to the location 2 more times due to their ineptitude. In the end I asked for a refund so that I could go to Enterprise. They still charged me for 1 day when I had it for 5 hours after giving me incorrect vehicles. I’ve been president circle for ~15 years, which meant nothing. My employees and I will not be renting from this Hertz again.

They gave me a car that was about 3/4 filled up with gas, but expected me to fill it all the way up before I returned it. Customer service is also poor. Don't rent from here if you can help it.

Usually have a great experience - this time it was the nightmare every traveler fears… I rented from HERTZ at Atlanta (ATL) as a one way with a return in Myrtle Beach (MYR). I rented on points and my bill was estimated at $48. I turned it in to MYR HERTZ on the scheduled day and 5 hours early. The gentleman in the parking lot checked me in and said they would email me a receipt and that it may take a while because it was Thanksgiving Day. I got the receipt 3 days later when the vehicle was returned to Raleigh (RDU) and my bill was $850. Called the Gold Line and they said it was obviously not closed out in Myrtle Beach before it was rented again to someone who drove it to Raleigh. Just talked to the lady at the counter at HERTZ at MYR and she was not interested in helping at all… said I needed to call Atlanta because they are responsible for closing out that rental. How would Atlanta know to close it out if they were not properly notified by MYR??? Unbelievable, unprofessional, and UNACCEPTABLE! Be careful with this crowd - I am now looking at a credit card dispute to get the correct attention and assistance. ?

It’s been 3 months no one is customer service called me. Please note they are fraud holding $165 of my money due to a faulty car they gave me do not rent with Hertz you will regret it. Enterprise is best!!! Just emailed customer care and will see what happens. Terrible customer service. Can’t make enough money renting the cars so they try to give you damaged cars then blame it on you when you call.One of the most lying and deceitful companies. Do not rent cars from them they hide problems until your on the road then force you to pay. I have waited on my refund over 3 weeks this is ridiculous I’m so upset go to enterprise way better customer service and cars.

We reserved our vehicle weeks ago. We’re being told nothing has cleaned up. Everyone is waiting. EVERYONE. They rely on placating and auto generated responses. Check other reviews before booking with this company. I’ll never rent from them again.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Hertz at the Myrtle Beach airport.I had pre-paid for my reservation weeks before my trip, only to find when I went to pick it up that firstly, they had rented away the car I had reserved, because I was a few hours late picking it up. The car had already been paid for in full! It should not matter if I was late in picking it up, especially in an airport setting where delays are common. Secondly, because I had paid using a debit card, I would have to pay an additional $40 per day for insurance, unless I could confirm with my insurance company (over the phone, they would not accept my policy documents as proof) that I had full coverage. My insurance company had already closed for the day, so I was forced into purchasing theirs for the full week I was renting the car. The next day, we had to travel all the way back to the airport to prove that I was insured, which was obviously a hassle... It then took another 5 days to issue the refund of nearly $300 to my card. Today, I was charged another $100 because I was in a rush to return the car and didn't top off the gas tank... $100 for a third of a tank of gas. I feel like I got scammed.

It was most ridiculous experience I ever had. They refused to rent me a car because their drivers license reader can't read my absolutely perfect driver's license. And they didn't care and didn't try to do anything about it. They just asked me to live and acted like it is not their problem. Sad part of it is that when I choose Hertz it was not che cheapest car, it was brand I was after. I guess they lost long time customer.

We arrived at Hertz and nobody was at the desk. When stepping aside to ask a different rental service worker if anyone was there for Hertz, another two ladies got in front of us. We stepped behind them and waited for an employee to step out.After around 10 minutes an employee came to the desk and served the two women in front of us. We overheard them asking for an upgrade to a large SUV rather than what they had previously reserved. The employee obliged and rented them the large SUV and they left with their vehicle. When they were finishing up another employee stepped forward to begin processing our reservation. After giving them all of our information we were told they didn’t have any large SUVs left and that we would have to wait for another car to be dropped off. We had reserved this vehicle months in advance and to overhear them quite literally give our reservation away was extremely frustrating. I understand everywhere is short staffed however for them to accept a request for an upgrade from another customer when we were very much on time for our pick up was extremely disheartening. We sat waiting for over 45 minutes for a vehicle. Will not be renting from Hertz in the future.

Found out the morning of my trip another car rental company was not able to honor my reservation. I contacted Hertz and spoke to Jesse who helped me get an amazing car last minute. He was extremely friendly and helpful and saved the day. Thank you Jesse!!

This place is a joke. Seriously, don't bother. It's not worth a real review, but I'll give it a shot. But seriously, you can just go to one of the other business in the same building.We landed at Myrtle Beach 2 hours ago. We walked into a zoo. People complaining they aren't getting the cars they rented, others being told there isn't enough cleaners to service the vehicles. Reservations simply not being fulfilled. The only redeeming quality about this visit, is the guy infront of us that's going ballistic. It's entertaining.I'm shocked this place is still in business.To upper mgmt. Shut this place down and stop ruining vacations.

Horrible experience ! Arrived at the rental counter at 7:45pm and told there were no cars available, we’d be put on a waiting list to receive our rental car and there were 7 people ahead of us waiting for their car. This reservation was made in March. Finally received our car at 9pm. No compensation offered. Horrible way to start a vacation. Shame on You Hertz.

I have been a loyal Gold's member for almost a decade. The employee working the counter, Liz, was extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate, and rash. She even spoke poorly of her employer to another employee in front of customers. I have never had an employee be so rude.

Reserved a car weeks ago. Prepaid most of the car fee. Credit card was hacked afterwards. Stepped up got the counter, they not only didn't have the car I reserved but then they absolutely refused me service because I had a new credit card. Didn't matter that I'd prepaid part of it. Didn't matter that I had a brand new credit card. Left my 7 year old daughter in tears because she thought we wouldn't be able to leave the airport. This is the worst service I've ever encountered in my life. Don't use this hertz. In fact don't use any hertz. I'm canceling my membership and will never use this terrible company again.
