worst bank ever. closed my account bc i paid my rent in cash w a cashiers check. would not recommend ever tons of other banks to choose from

Absolutely the worst possible bank you could choose to trust your money with. Each branch has a different set of rules & only bend them for their own benefit. I previously spoke with this location's Branch Manager, Katie & she at least tried to treat me like a human after I explained the false advertising they have on their ATMs. Today, Eileen decided that Katie was too busy to speak with me, yet refused to even try to help me. She absolutely could have, but obviously felt above the need to actually service her customers. I have banked here for 20 years & am going to have to terminate this toxic banking relationship.

Bank operates like it's 1985. Takes over 3 weeks for debit card to be mailed to you. So if you lose your card you'll be without one for awhile. The bank app is the slowest worst app you can possibly download barley ever works. I would open a bank account at a up to date bank and wait a few more years while this bank catches up.

Been customers over 30 years. Excellent service, great management. Professional and personable to everyone even jerks and idiots. I've observed them deal professionally with difficult customers, drunks and stoners. Some folks don't get that if you write bad checks you gotta pay and if you're over your limit your card is turned off. Eileen Thames is a true asset to the organization.

I do very little banking outside of the ATM, but I've never had an issue with the bank before. However, today I stopped at the window of the Mt. Pleasant Town Center branch just to get a small check cashed. I gave the teller my Checking Card and I.D. and although there were no other cars, she took an inordinately long time staring at my information and typing. As if she were doing a background check. Finally she speaks up and says "Oh, sorry I can't cash this, it's written out for the 31st." "No, actually it's the 21st." "Oh, well, I guess I can see that," she replies but still has not cashed the check. After 30 more seconds of her saying and doing nothing, I finally say: "It also has "For EASTER" written on the check." (How she missed this detail while staring at it for so long is a mystery). "Oh yeah, it does. Well... I guess we can accept it," she says staring at me blankly. FINALLY she cashes it, tersely tells me to have a nice day and gives me a single $50 bill (when I wanted smaller bills, but by now I'm too annoyed to bother asking again). While it may seem minor, I compare it to the times cashed checks at the Coleman Branch and the entire transaction is over within a minute, The tellers there are always genuinely friendly. And just for the record, I've had either a Savings or Checking account with First Federal/South State since I was 6 years old. So this rude behavior was unexpected and most unappreciated.

I opened an account with them and they did not explain how bank to bank transfers worked and was misinformed. I wish they would have explain how their bank operated and had a staff that had more knowledge.

A particular teller, middle age white lady. She likes to enforce the no hat rule, only when she sees you as threat. I can't stand the white staff working here. I would never bank with them.

What a great south state bank branch! Joanne has helped me without question and always with a smile on her face! She has been a true pleasure to work with and is a huge asset to that branch. Thanks for the help Joanne and enjoy that pecAN pie!
