We went simply to check out the grooming scenario and see how they treated the animals in the back before scheduling for our pup. I teared up watching as one groomer held the dog around the snout and was very aggressively jerking the comb through the mats and knots of the dog's ears. It was obvious it hurt because the dog was trying to get away with wide eyes but the collar was preventing movement. When she finally removed her hand to hold the ear and brush, the poor dog yelped several times. She didn't pause or stop a moment or offer words of encouragement or love on him to calm him down, she just kept jerking him closer with a scowl on her face like she hated even being there. The other groomer wasn't much better as she kept jerking the dog's head from side to side with a scowl on her face. We were so shocked that we just went and bought what we would need to groom our pup at home. I refuse to take her somewhere that treats her like she is an inconvenience in their day. I will never drop off and leave my pet for any services at a Petco store, especially this one. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars was because I didn't have a pet being groomed, I was only watching the pets that were there.

They don't have A/C. It also seemed like one of their employees was sick and contagious but still came to work.

My puppy got his first haircut at Petco and it was great. He looks so clean and neat - better than I expected. The staff was caring and communicative throughout the process and alleviated my dog mom anxiety around leaving him there for the first time. The wash & cut was a lot more affordable than some of the other places I found. We'll be bringing him back when he starts looking shaggy!
