Very friendly staff and love this location! It’s nice to have something I can just heat up because I couldn’t cook to save my life but you still get the home cooked feel as opposed to take out (and at a better price)So far out of 4 items I’ve bought there they’ve all been delicious, especially loved the veal parmesan.

Good products, but disorganized and some staff members need retraining. Two women, one working at the counter and the other making food, both need further education in food and customer service. The posted allergy list is incomplete and there are no ingredients on the package labels. When I asked if a premade item not on the list was gluten free, they both said, "Yes." The problem was that they insisted gluten came from cheese and since there was no cheese in it, the item was gluten free. Around and around we went with me trying to explain what gluten is , where it can hide, and that natural cheese does not contain gluten. It has, in this case, nothing to do with gluten. They both said people are always asking if there is dairy in items, so they assumed that was what 'gluten free' meant. I was disturbed knowing they had no idea about what they prepared and sold and I explained the importance of being educated on what you sell. I left the store frustrated that neither really "got it." I can't purchase prepared foods there, because I don't trust them. I was even more discouraged on a differentvisit when I told the man at the counter that I had previously ordered pot roast from a different NY Butcher nearby. I asked if the Oakland store pot roast had gluten in it, the man said, "Yes. We use the same recipe as that store." What? The other store said gluten free and this one says same recipe but not gluten free. The ingredient list is very important. Some people's lives rely on that info. You never know how important it is until your own health depends on it. Believe me, it is no joke and it is not fun.Please educate your staff, put accurate ingredients lists on the labels, and take pride in what you are doing enough to *know* what you are doing. Accurate labeling andTrain. The. Staff.

Great tasting food as always. Picked up an order for Christmas we had ordered well in advance. They forgot a side dish that we weren't charged for, realized the mistake and called before we left the parking lot. Wouldn't take any payment for additional items, very helpful staff.

A fantastic first experience! Just happened to stumble in over the weekend exploring the plaza when I noticed the butcher shop. My wife and I were already looking to make a short rib ragu for Sunday dinner and the shop more than delivered in large part for the main necessary ingredients. Beef Short Ribs were freshly cut and packed, excellent wine selection we used in part for our braising liquid, and they even happened to have fresh pasta! Can’t forget the free smoked chicken wing I was offered and joyfully gobbled down. We will certainly be making a return visit in the near future.

Every time I shop at this location I have a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is clean and the prepared foods are really good!

i have always had a positive experience while in the store. that includes the one on IOP and Coleman Blvd too!!! I also appreciate that they have dog treats available. My ten year says his favorite things are the steaks, french fry’s, and gummy bears! so they really can cater to anyone’s needs.

Please check expiration dates. Salads don't look fresh and Parmesan spread expired almost 2 months ago.

Love the NY Butcher food but don’t love the employees being rude and not helpful. I don’t know much about meat (not a big red meat eater and definitely not an expert) so therefore I had to ask questions when purchasing. The lady at the counter was so rude and unhelpful and I left the store completely mortified. This isn’t NY, this is SC, land of hospitality and common courtesy. People won’t always remember the words you say but they will definitely remember how you treated them. ✌️

I love the NY Butcher Shop and have been frequenting their locations on Ben Sawyer and on IOP for quite a while... however, as often happens with businesses that get hot and expand, they lose the attention to detail and service that made them successful to begin with. This is the problem with their new Mt Pleasant location at Oakland Market. I've now gone to this location which is within minutes of my home multiple times, and each visit leaves me feeling they think they are doing me a favor...bad attitudes, poor training, and a sense of entitlement to my business. I hope they find some competent management to fix this location- but in the meantime, advise you skip it.

Love their weekly specials - excellent quality. Get it out of their refrigerator, add a salad and fresh bread. Only big disappointment was their adding a “tip” feature to the checkout. I do this all myself, just like at Publix or Harris Teeter. It’s asking a lot, in todays economy, to tip a checkout person. Circle K, etc.. yesterday my “suggested tip” was $10 on a $40 takeout order. Really??? They just lost a long-time customer.

Ran in yesterday and picked up a prepared chicken primavera. Was the perfect size for 2-3, just baked in over for 30 minutes and we loved it. Very economical as well. Will definitely be back for other items and would recommend trying any of the prepared items as well. Store looks amazing.

Great staff, even better products. This is some of the best meat you can purchase. Have been shopping at the Coleman ave store for several years and now have tried the new location. Both are excellent. Great meat.
