It all started at a lunch of business owners as part of a peer to peer group I was in. After several meeting, one of the folks at this group suggested I should swap the burger I eat with a salad since he noticed a burger is all I ate everytime we met. Thankfully for me, it was a Doctor who gave me the advice… yes it was Dr. Lovegrove. That comment changed my life forever. Since then (5 years ago) I have lost over 70 lbs, I am in the best shape of my life. Dr. Lovegrove is a genius in all medicine and treatments. And he combines all that knowledge with care and love. He isn’t like your typical Dr that talks to you for 2 min after only spending a few seconds looking at your chart just to prescribe you some medicine as he does everyone else without really knowing you. Dr Lovegrove takes his time to make sure you understand what your body is doing and looks for healthy ways to brings things back to normal in a holistic and natural way. He has been a true blessing and life saver. It’s been such a success for me that now my wife also sees him and she is also on her best health. After experiencing what Dr. Lovegrove offers, I can’t go anywhere else. Don’t hesitate, come and visit him.

I became a patient at Merge to find root cause for some medical issues I had been dealing with for years. At one point a test was ordered by Merge and shipped to their office which required a blood test and urine sample. They scheduled a mid-morning appointment for me, and I showed up on time and provided the sample. Two weeks later my test results come back and I discussed with the provider.While looking at the test results I saw that the urine sample was FMV, meaning First Morning Void, a term I had never heard before. FMV is the first time going to the bathroom after waking up. I was concerned as the appointment was mid-morning, and this was most definitely not an FMV sample. I brought this up to the team at Merge and the provider said “FMV can make a big difference”. The office staff acted like I was at fault, and that I should have read the instructions with the test.I reiterated that the test was shipped to their office, and their lab collected the samples in person mid-morning. How was I supposed to know if I had no access to the kit and instructions? The provider never mentioned FMV. I wanted a retest so I could have good data, and they refused to help, blaming me, and said a retest would be the full charge of the test again ($400).I also contacted the lab that provides the test. They wanted to talk to the provider directly to discuss how a non-FMV sample affects the test results, they would not discuss this with me. I told this to the provider and they were unwilling to contact the lab, citing “the instructions on the kit indicate FMV and I don’t feel the need to be further educated about it from **lab name**”. I was stunned by the arrogance…especially because they took the urine sample knowing it was not FMV.Long story short, I no longer go to Merge. After a few thousand dollars spent at their practice, they blamed me for their mistake and offered no help, and root cause was not found.

I came to MMC almost a year ago after a rather severe hospital stay that shocked me being there because no one knew the cause of my symptoms.After every doctor trying to give me one medication after another I went looking for “the better choice” and found Dr Lovegrove.My health has increased, my blood work looks great and I have no medications at 73. I’m happy to be where I am.

This is not your average medical practice. Here, they make every effort to get to the root cause of any (dis)ease rather than merely managing symptoms. Here you are not rushed. Here you are seen and you are heard and that, in my opinion, creates the template for the perfect healing environment. And the added bonus is that the entire staff is warm and friendly!

In January 2023, I noticed a large sum of money charged to my card from Merge Medical. I called and the staff could not figure out why I was charged. I called my bank and dispute the charge. Months later I received letter from bank that the dispute was denied and would be charged again. I again called Merge to see if they knew why I was charged. After a lot of back and forth, they determined it was from services of September 2022 in which I was sure I paid. They never once sent me an invoice or let me know that I had a balance even though I had been there two times between September and January. My lesson learned is to never leave a card on file and keep all cash receipts.

To say that Dr. Lovegrove's care has been transformative is an understatement. I struggled with health issues for years, each of the symptoms relatively minor but taken as a whole were debilitating. Within six weeks of simply adjusting the foods I eat and taking a small number of supplements, all of these issues have been eliminated and I can feel my body healing itself from a lifetime of thinking the standard American diet is healthy. The improvement in every aspect of my health has been nothing less than miraculous. For decades, every other doctor I had would simply say stay away from rich foods and prescribe medicine, most of which had little effect and now I understand could actually compound the problems. Dr. Lovegrove quickly identified the specific issues which caused these systemic problems and offered solutions that did not require medication.

Dr. Lovegrove and his team put me on the road to wellness and I’m happy to say that I’ve arrived. Dealing with Hashimotos and heavy metal toxicity meant that my journey was long and hard and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the treatment and guidance from Dr. Lovegrove. It’s an incredible thing to feel great again at the age of 55! Thank you Dr. Lovegrove and the Merge Medical Team!

Yesterday I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday of next week. I received a short impersonal email today warning me that my paperwork hasn't been filled out yet and if it is not done by 5pm today my appointment would be cancelled. Originally I was told I had more time to fill out the paperwork but because of the holiday the deadline was moved up. I am currently unable to sleep and dealing with brain fog and other health issues I had mentioned over the phone, so filling out a large amount of paperwork in the midst of everyday responsibilities was very difficult for me. I attempted to fill them out and realized the membership was much more of a commitment than I expected. It's a 6 month membership charging $150 per month. They have the right to cancel your membership at anytime but you as the patient do not have that luxury. If you are unhappy with your care you still have to pay. I was not comfortable with this type of arrangement after having bad experiences with prior doctors not being able to help me. These fees didn't even include the blood work and other tests. I called to let them know I was canceling my appointment (the day after I made the appointment) and I was told I would only receive a partial refund for my membership fee and they would be keeping $50. My impression was the $100 I paid was a deposit, not a non refundable membership fee. I canceled 6 days prior to my appointment. If I had known they would do this, I would have never scheduled anything in the first place. There are too many integrative doctors offices like this, expecting you to commit upfront. It's disappointing and sad because I've spent so much of my family's savings trying to get better and I have yet to find a holistic minded doctor who actually understands what it means to have a balanced and trustworthy relationship with their patients. Expecting patients to commit to 6 months without building trust first and then keeping the patient's money when they decide the membership is not a good fit is very unethical. It benefits them more than the patient. This is not just a gym membership, it's a doctor patient relationship with very complex health issues to be discussed and dealt with. It's very personal, not just business. I also did not have a good experience on the phone with Melissa. I told her I was upset about them keeping the $50 and that it was a ripoff. She said that I am perceiving it that way but it's not true. My perception is my perception and her dismissal of it does not change that reality. I can confidently say I'm glad I didn't move forward with the 6 month commitment.

I'd been dealing with some health issues and been brushed off by my primary care and a specialist and told that all i needed was to be consistent and I'd reach my goals. My first visit with Melissa Altman she listened, took my concerns seriously, and made sure that I got to ask any questions I had. She was very thorough in her review of my initial questionnaire and in her follow up questions based on my responses. My second visit was just as great and I was extremely satisfied with the lab results and the treatment plan prescribed. The rest of the office staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had to bring my toddler with me and he is all over the place and they were so understanding and tolerant of him. They accommodated my son and me and I am so grateful. Will definitely continue to see them. I highly recommend Merge Medical. Especially if you're struggling to get to the root cause of issues you're having and feel like you're not functioning at your best!

I’m overjoyed to of found Dr Lovegrove’s Health & Wellness Center. After taking random supplements for yrs from tv ads & hearsay, it was time for a deep-dive of my blood-work & professional recommendations of a diet/supplement plan. I had more than older-age issues creeping in & knew I wasn’t feeling well, yet I feel much much healthier w Dr Lovegrove’s supervision. Supplements are NOT regulated by FDA, so who knows if supps, in-general, contain any actual nutrients advertised, Yet Dr Lovegrove tests the supplements randomly for quality, etc. After COVID locked-down the world, Dr Lovegrove checked on me often & offered zoom appointments; now I zoom for convenience unless In person required. Dr Lovegrove has leading-edge health technology & free gym tryouts linked to his webpage. Dr Love aids mind, body, & soul. I am thoroughly impressed of Dr Lovegrove’s knowledge, staff, supps, & availability.

I have been going to Merge since May 2020 and it has been a great experience. I had different health issues that the conventional approach didn't resolve. At Merge they work hard on finding the root cause of the problem. My health has improve greatly. Therefore, I brought my children and they have been taking care of them as well. Mrs. Mellisa Altman, RN and the rest of the staff are very attentive, respectful and profesional. I strongly recommend Merge to anyone who's looking for a Functional Medicine practice.
