We have stayed here a couple of times a year since my in-laws moved to Franke. Our stays were always passable and being able to just walk back and forth to the in-laws was a plus. We also had a favorite room, #400, that we usually stayed in.This past stay was unacceptable. The hotel is barely being maintained and our room barely got hot water. We were all right with having to clean the room when we got there and all the other little problems, but not having hot water was the final straw. The staff here is nice and do what they can, but if you stay here, make sure you don't pay more than $120 a night. This Homewood is not even as good as some Red Roofs.

This is a very pretty area in Mt. Pleasant! As far as the room goes, the kitchen/dining area were a little cramped for two people, but we made it work. The bed was comfortable, but we found old mold stains on the pillowcases. An incredible housekeeper immediately threw those in the trash and replaced them for us. They did an amazing job keeping things clean. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning, and for the most part, it was pretty good with many side options. There are also many shopping/food/coffee places within short walking distance. I recommend the Owlbear cafe for lunch. The reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that another person staying in the hotel was randomly attacked by another person in the hotel's dog and had to go to the hospital. It made us a tad bit nervous when encountering any other dogs in the halls. As this is a dog friendly hotel, that's something to keep in mind if you have small children.

My wife, my son, and I stayed at this location for a weekend in early February due to its proximity to 2 soccer fields we needed to visit for a soccer tournament. It was also close to lots of area attractions . We had a 2 queen suite on the first floor. The main room was spacious and had a pull out couch bed. The small kitchen includes a 2 burner cook top, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, single cup coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer, and a supply of utensils, silverware and cookware. The beds were very comfortable, and the bedroom had enough room to move around without feeling cramped. The hotel has obviously been renovated but still has some issues. The shower area has no fan, and due to this, there were rust stains in the tub and on the hinges of the bathroom door. There was also rust on the metal shelf in the freezer and stains on all the tile floors on the edges near the walls and doors. There is a courtyard with a pool, a large grill that I assume the hotel uses for cooking out in the summer, and a nice half basketball court with 2 basketballs provided (one a little better than the other) surrounded by a net to keep the ball from going into the street or parking lot. There is a nice fitness room off the main lobby, which we didn’t use, so I can’t speak to how good it was. There is no ice machine due to the rooms having ice makers in the freezers, and there are no vending machines as they sell snacks and drinks in the lobby, as with most Hilton locations now. The free breakfast is about what you expect with eggs, sausage, grits, cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, and a waffle maker. The digital key didn’t work during our entire stay, and we felt like it probably doesn’t ever work. There is a faint cigarette smoke smell throughout the hotel that must be in the hvac system or carpets. The hotel is situated so that there is almost no noise from the road nearby and it was very quiet during our entire stay. It is located near lots of stores and shopping centers so there are tons of options for whatever you need – there is a Target right behind the hotel which is very convenient. The laundry room consists of 2 older coin-operated washers and 2 older coin-operated dryers in a room that got intolerably hot. There are no timers on any of the machines, so it’s a check and see situation until they finish a cycle. There is ample parking and several doors to the outside around the hotel, so you can typically park a very short distance from the outer door to your room. The staff was friendly and helpful, but at the time we were there, the staff in the breakfast area spoke no English, so when guests needed assistance, it created a bit of a problem. We were advised this was a temporary situation due to a staff member in the hospital – hope he or she is doing better. The scannable QR code in the room located on the TV stand doesn't appear to provide amenities for that particular location and we have found this to be the case in several Hilton properties we gave syayed at. Overall, the hotel was clean, quiet, and well appointed with a helpful, friendly staff that was ideally located for us as it was halfway between the 2 soccer fields we were playing at. I would stay here again if it was the only place available, but if I had the choice, I would probably stay at a different, newer location.

Great hotel to stay at with the family. A pack n play is provided if you’re traveling with a baby, great breakfast selection, and the location can’t be beat. Perfect for our trip to Charleston.

Would I stay here, probably not. Spent three nights here. The staff is nice and the room for the most part was nice. The little things that will keep me away are.1- Had to let the shower run for 5 min to just get warm water2- Could tell each time the room next to me flushed there toilet.3- HVAC system kind of on the noisy side4- After 6-7 pm, good luck finding a parking spot, your sent across the road.

This location was the best stay we have at a Homewood Suites. The property was clean and comfortable in all aspects that's required. Beds were new and strong. Sheets clean and fresh. The breakfast was as expected and fresh. The only complaint I have is the water pressure for the shower was low to my standards. The front desk ladies Patricia and Cathy were more than fine examples of Southern Hospitality. Keep up the good work. And all working the property. Down to the lawn men deserve a round of appreciation.????Nearby activities: Walking distance from almost all you need. From Target to local restaurants.

We spent about a week here and we were greeted every day by friendly staff and a traditional breakfast buffet. Everyone was very friendly and had great recommendations of places to go and things to do. It wasn't until we got there we realized how great of a location this is.... a very short walking distance from almost anything you need from restraunts, bars, shopping, even a target next door. We are planning to come back next time we are in town.Nearby activities: Shopping, restaurants, nail salon, convenience storesSafety: Well lit, well kept area, felt safe coming and going even late at night.Walkability: Lots of choices available to walk to from the hotel!

Homewood Suites offers spacious rooms at a good price point. The full kitchen and separate bedroom are really nice especially if someone wants to cook a meal or if one person is trying to sleep while the other is still up. The front desk staff is very nice. I spoke to Cathy at check in and J'Ayanna in the Hilton Honors app. They were both extremely helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was pretty good although I wish they offered bacon. The only complaints that I have is the wall needs some patch work (there was chipping of the drywall in the living room between the window and TV dresser) and they could dust a little bit better. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. I've been to way worse hotels in terms of cleanliness so this hotel definitely meets expectations, but could exceed with a little more attention to detail. Overall, if you are in the Charleston/Mt Pleasant area I would highly recommend staying here.

Positive part is the people at the front, unfortunately the room was dirty and disgusting. Stains on the walls, curtains and couch. And when I pulled the bed back there was what looks to be underwear, crumbs and hair. I am a gold member of Hilton and I am out of town a few times a month and I have never seen anything this bad before.

Our stay was most pleasant and we especially appreciated the accomodation made by Amanda upon check-in. A few other Perks, the entire staff was friendly and personable. The room was reasonably clean and the breakfast had a decent selection of food. We'd choose to stay here again.Safety: Excellent area, felt safe and secure since a room key was needed to enter the side doors.

Such a convenient location. There are sidewalks all around with shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is also a Super Target across the parking lot. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. The only issue we had was regulating the temperature and having both rooms (living room and bedroom) be comfortable at the same time.
