As a vistor to Mt. Pleasant for the week I went in looking for advice on where and how to fish the local waters. Owners were incredibly kind and helpful, and hooked me up with bait, tackle, and everything I needed. A hidden gem among all the big box stores in town.

I’ve shopped at Henry’s numerous times. Today I called to see if they had mud minnow’s and they said that they did, I asked “how much are they?” The reply I got was “I don’t give that information over the phone.” When I asked why, she said “because I don’t have to.” She’s right, she doesn’t have to and I have other places that I can shop with out being spoken to so rudely. I almost regret having ever done business there in the past. Not sure if I’ve ever been spoken to so rudely by a business that survives on customers and repeat business.

I pulled up at 7:40AM this morning to wait for them to open at 8AM to buy some fiddler crabs for bait. They were advertised on the letter board out front. I backed into a parking place facing the building. Sat there waiting. Owners pulled up in a black Cadillac. Elderly gentleman got out of passenger side and looked right at me - 25 ft away. I nodded to say "hello." He reached back in the Cadillac to get his cane. Then he pulled his shirt up and tucked it behind the revolver he had holstered on his belt. Stared me down the whole time. The elderly lady invited me into the store and he then yelled at me to get out until the store opened. The lady agreed to help me but he made me finish the transaction outside. I'd always heard he was rude, but didn't expect to be threatened for buying bait at a BAIT SHOP. So anyway, you're on your own if you need anything from this place. I won't be going back.
