This store is so disappointing. Not sure why they even rent a space in Mount Pleasant town center. We went by there on Tuesday July 9th 2024 at 2:00 p.m. and the window guards/gates were down like the store hadn't been opened at all that day. So we called thinking maybe someone was on their lunch hour. No one answered and we waited an hour and called again with the same results. We spoke to some local shop owners nearby saying that the store is open for 2 hours a day and then closes and some days it doesn't even open at all. It's frustrating when you think you have a place you can rent to real quick to grab something and it's just never open because of crummy help. I feel bad for GameStop.

What a terrible experience from start to end with Andy, the "team lead". **I would avoid this store at all costs.** Even when I went in to purchase, I was asking for Wii games and Andy was sarcastic and rude about them, I guess they're not popular. He tossed the few they had on the counter, which by the way ranged from $30-$50 for used.
I purchased a game on 3/25/24 from Andy. This was a gift, and the recipient already had this game. So, on 3/28/24 at 12:07pm I went to return the game. The store was locked down and closed. I looked up the store hours which said they are open from 10am-8pm. The next day, 3/29/24 I went back to the store at 11:11am to return the game. The store was closed again.
It was Easter weekend and our Spring Break and we went out of town for a few days.
On 4/5/24 I went for the third time in to the store at approximately 1:40pm to try again. I spoke with Andy, and he said to me I am outside of the return window. I explained to him that I came to the store on two separate days within my 7 day window but the store was closed during business hours. He told me there’s nothing he will do (not can do, won't) and he will not override the system to issue my return. I tried explaining that I was trying to make the return according to store policy but the store was closed, and he said “I don’t know how many more times I can say I will not return the game”. He pushed the game at me and said “that’s it”. I asked him why he was closed last week during business hours, with no explanation, and his exact response was “Because”.
At that point I then asked him for his manager’s information and he refused to give it to me. I asked him for the corporate office number and he gave me a Game Stop business card with the 843 phone number for that local store! Andy then told me I needed to leave. I was shocked to be treated so disrespectfully for no reason.
Unfortunate situation all around. This has been reported to Game Stop and unfortunately they did not do the right thing. The charge was reported so I was able to get my money back through my bank.
Scamming customers out of their money is a quick way to go out of business.

absolutely the worst gamestop in the state of South Carolina. which is sad because this store was thriving under previous manager Daniel. unfortunately, after he left an absolutely atrocious manger named Amber took over, she was unfriendly, rude, lazy, and was more worried about saving her own skin than caring for the customers. for example, one day i went in and purchased a $10 PlayStation gift card, the employee was giving me the code on the receipt, and it ran out of ink during the printing, so i was told there’s no way i can get my code today. meanwhile, Amber is standing right next to him and watching, and i was rightfully annoyed when i couldn’t get my code, and instead of making it right, she just claimed “she’d get in trouble” if she did the right thing and comped my the $10 i spent into another gift card. she was rude and honestly the worst manager this store could have ever hired, i was happy when i heard when she left. now things seem to have gotten even worse, which is really saying something. now almost every time i walk by the store when going to see a movie at the Regal next door, the store is completely shut down during normal business hours, and their website still says nothing about the random closings, nor do they put any signs on the doors that let customers know what’s going on. i’m hoping this means the store is going out of business at this location, because the way they treat customers is shameful and i will never step foot in this awful store again, even if its open for once. if you are new to the area, beware this store and go to buy games somewhere else, you’re better off not wasting your time.

Every time I try to go to this store it’s closed during their posted business hours. I’m ready to go spend money with them and they’re closed. Awful management. Just close the location already.

Went there during normal operating hours and the store was closed. No note on the door as to why but all the lights were off and the security gates were closed. It was a Friday afternoon.

This location makes up its own hours. Been to this location on numerous occasions and they've been randomly closed in the middle of the day for no reason. Just tried to return a controller that I bought from them, that just stopped working all of the sudden, and of course, they are closed at 4pm on a Saturday! Also their product selection is subpar compared to every other location.

The guy who worked behind the counter with glasses lied to my face twice. I called in and asked if they accepted my type of Xbox the guy said yes. I went online and locked a deal in at the store. I get to the store and it’s another ball game. Stay tuned for my “GameStop Town center review undercover” YouTube special on comparing online and in store prices. I go in with a microphone and hidden camera.

Management doesn't understand how to operate the store correctly. Regularly leaves other staff to cover the entire store by themselves. The only worker here that I actually like is Brody, he is always super helpful and knows what he is talking about. Outside of that, don't ever shop here. If you need to shop at a Gamestop please go to the one in West Ashley rather than here

I've been trying to pick up my purchase for two days. Is it always closed when you work?

I explicitly tell the employee working, "I want to trade in Game A and B for the $50 trade-in promotion. Then I want Game C to be traded in on top of that." Well, instead they take the two most valuable games towards the promotion and then trade in the least valuable to give me the lowest possible amount back. I didn't realize until I got home and did the math, come back, and the excuse is "the system". This GameStop is an absolute con now.UPDATE: Apparently they also just decided to cancel my order completely that I used the trade-in for lmao. No email, no call. I am honestly surprised this place hasn't gotten a lawsuit from the way they run they run their business. I reported the store to customer service, so hopefully they do something. I'm never setting foot in this place again.I would recommend the Rivers Avenue location. It's worth the drive. Infinitely better experience there.

Unfortunately, it is the first experience I have had with the store, I do not recommend buying in this place, I can say that the management of the place is one of the worst I could have had, starting with the fact of having an order almost 3 weeks in advance, waiting until on the day of delivery and not being able to count on my order because the store staff did not even have the decency to show up and open the store to the public, I thought it was a simple delay and no, simply no one showed up, I am not exaggerating when I say that If the place had a note saying the reasons why the store is not open, it would be better, but not that, very bad service

Bought a series s, went home and turned it on to find the batteries for the controller were not only dead but the controller itself was broken. Tried to call several times ~an hour before the closed and got no answer so I assumed they just called it day. Tried to go to the west Ashley location because they were open for over another hour and half only to see all the lights off when I pulled in. Stay classy GameStop.

Was a great location for years. Not sure what happened. Opened 20 minutes late today. On release day, they don't have the game in stock. How are you going to let me pre-order a game and not have it on release day? 8-25-23
