As a local seamstress I have found this shop to be best resource in the Charleston area for any sewing needs- notions, machine repairs & purchasing, specialized machine lessons, fabric selection, etc.Cathy & Bill have a deep knowledge and understanding of sewing, embroidery, quilting, Bernina machine needs and any home sewing machine repairs because they have been in the industry for many years. High recommend to any home or professional seamstress!

When I travel, I always look for a local fabric store with garment fabrics and I am so happy to find Fashion Fabrics. It's small but they manage to pack in a lot of great fabric options! I scored a rayon, cotton lawn, linen/cotton, and a rayon blend. They also have quilting fabrics but that's not my jam. Small collection of notions and indie sewing patterns. The woman who helped me (I'm assuming the owner) was very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back during my next visit!

I had a problem with my Janome. Bill fixed it quickly and I’m back to sewing! They were so very friendly and willing to work on it even though I had not purchased it there nor was it “their” brand. I didn’t have time to shop but will definitely be back to do so! Thank you so very, very much for helping me!!!

Very disappointed to see masks are NOT required. Saw a customer walking around without one. Turned around without going in. Will find another fabric store that requires masks.

This is a great locally owned spot with knowledgeable and sweet owners. It's convenient, and they had what I was looking for. When I came back for more, they even wanted to know what they should be ordering for me.SKIP Joannes and Hobby lobby and all that nonsense and go to Fashion Fabrics!! It's a much better and more convenient experience than the big box stores, with better prices.

I had an emergency with my machine. Needed a quick repair to complete an art installation. They came through. Friendly service and I love their fabric selection. Support our local store owners!

We’re lucky to have this family-owned small business in the Charleston area! Bill has serviced my Bernina in the past and brought it back to tip-top shape. I was lucky enough to take a recent class with Cathy to understand the workings of my grandmother’s 1971 Bernina, and not only did she teach me much I didn’t know, but she sparked so much joy in the process—helping me feel connected to my long-deceased super-seamstress g’ma and giving me the thrill of being able to create something on my own. I look forward to returning for more instruction, fabrics, and—really and truly—fun!
