Only selected 1 star because it won't let me post unless I do.
I hate being lied to and having excuses made for the lie. The whole process of dealing with this company from the beginning was a regret. I received the initial phone call 7 days after my pulmonary appointment (I was told it would be in 3 days). The first scheduled appointment was cancelled because nicole was "sick" (was told that nicole would call me on the next Monday to reschedule); I didn't receive the call, so I had to call. I called and asked about a specific mask and was told that a note would be written about the mask I asked about. Before I went to the appointment, I did a little research about cpap machines, but didn't know which one I would be getting. Then during my appointment, I asked about the cpap machine that was created "specifically" for females in the same series of the one I was being shown (I am a female and it was the airsense-10-for-her). I was told by nicole that the "only" thing that the airsense-10-for-her offered was the different color face plate and that "I" could pick one up online (why would I want to pay for something that insurance covers?). I accepted this because of the little bit of knowledge I had on the machine. Then I was shown the masks. I asked nicole about the airfit p10 for her mask because of the lighter color for females. She said, "oh yeah, I believe I was given a note that said you were interested in the p10" (if you had the note, why didn't you start there, instead of wasting my time?). I was given the "blue" p10 mask with a small & medium pillow cushion and the "black" airsense 10 cpap machine.
After getting home and doing more research, I found out that the airsense 10-for-her has "a gender specific algorithm-The pioneering new algorithm used in the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her works by increasing sensitivity to flow limitation and optimizing the response to these events. By responding to each flow-limited breath, the algorithm helps provide comfortable therapy for women". This machine was created specifically to help females, not just in a better color for females, but also providing comfortable breathing for females (an excuse for nicole at home medical possibly not knowing this was made by nicole at charleston pulmonary). When I found this out, I was not happy because nicole had said "only" the face plate was different and that is not true. I contacted my insurance company to find out that there were other medical supply companies that I could have received assistance from (I didn't know this because I was new to this and I thought the pulmonary doctor had my best interest at heart). Due to the incompetence, unprofessionalism and lack of genuine concern for the customer, I was stuck with a horrifically colored "black" machine that didn't offer me the best help for "5 years" from home medical supplies. The pulmonary doctor says that a note was sent to home medical supplies requesting the airsense 11 cpap machine which also has the "gender specific algorithm" for females, but renee says that home medical supplies didn't receive it. I returned the machine that I was given today.
I was born a female and I identify as a female, so I require everything created to assist a female. My options for the best assistance was taken from me by Charleston Pulmonary and Home Medical Supplies in this matter. I would be even more upset about this, but I know where my only help comes from & who controls my breathing. I would say that nicole, renee and whoever else at home medical supplies needs to learn everything about the supplies that they sell and what the supplies offer the customer before lying to the customer, but I believe that it won't matter. If you have read this, Do Not use Home Medical Supplies or Charleston Pulmonary for any reason, explore all of your options.

My new rollator is way to big, way to heavy, won’t fit in my car, won’t fit my metal bracket. Calling Monday for return for smaller one or refund!! They better stand by their service or I’m out of luck and will try to sell it!! Very unhappy but Keenan was very sweet

My experience here has been worthy of more than 5 stars. Great group of girls who work here who go to exceed your medical needs! Not to mention great prices on their medical equipment!

I recently had some nuerlogic issues, and couldn't walk on my own. My husband rented me a wheelchair for ONLY $40 dollars a week! I mostly used it balance, while using the seat for carrying things from part of the house to other. I called back to see what price was to purchase one. The girl was so nice, answered all of my questions, and treated me with respect!! :-)

My yearly visit to Home Medical was yet another wonderful experience. The employees are very knowledgeable in their respective areas. In the last 15 years of being served by this company, I have ALWAYS been treated with the utmost respect. They go above and beyond to make sure that your medical needs are met. Couldn't ask for a more caring group of people.

I’ve had nothing but a great experience with them! Other medical supply stores wouldn’t even attempt to help me for months. Madison was able to help me in under a week with LOTS of communication. Very very thankful for this place & how hard they work to help you.

I sprained my wrist and went to home medical to see if they had a brace. The lady showed me a couple different ones and also helped me put it on to make sure it fit. She was very kind and helpful.

I have been using them for about 5 years now and when I first started going there for catheters they were extremely patient and helpful. I moved from the area but I still make the drive to get great service. I have noticed the poor reviews are from last year and want people to know that covid 19 hit small businesses hard on supplies and they still kept the doors open and put themselves at great risk in doing so. .Maybe they were having a bad day, or maybe you were having a bad day

Its Friday 9/10/21, just called there and for some unknown reason they are not open. If you don't want to lose business you need to up date your web site.

They don't need your business. I called in and got talked down to because their (specific medical device) specialist wasn't available today, like I was supposed to know that? No attempt was made to get my contact info nor was an offer to call me back made. I guess this is lowcountry hometown hospitality at its finest! Good thing they have plenty of eager competition because they will be getting my business.
