The store is clean and decently stocked. I came into the store for a specific item and left without it. The guys in the meat dept are incompetent and lack any form of customer service. Imagine employing men who don’t actually know how to cut meat as your “butcher”. I made a simple request. I was told “you can’t do that”. I asked for two strip steaks around 10-12oz. I was told I needed to give them a thickness by inches or “knuckle”. How do you explain charging by the pound but not being able to cut meat at a specific weight? I spent over 20 years in food and beverage, several of which were spent cutting meat for Craig Deihl at Cypress restaurant in downtown Charleston. I cut a variety of meats, including dry aged strip and ribeye and a daily basis. Each cut was at a specific weight. The guys at Ol Timey Meat market had no issue giving me the cuts I asked for in the range of weight requested. The issue isn’t my request, it’s that you employ unskilled people in positions that require skill. Definitely not shopping here again.

The store is clean, and the staff is friendly. I will definitely be back to shop. The deli had something cooking that smelled really good!

Since 1954 this store has been in business. It's not hard to see why. It's not just a grocery store but a food oasis. Salads, " Sammywiches* pizzas Rotisserie Chicken and they got me with the famous Grape Chicken Salad. Hot Bread alarms when baked and the chicken dance after frying chicken. Beer and wine happy hours with $3 mimosas is like why go anywhere else when it's so much fun for family and kids too. It's not just a grocery store. It's a happy place.

Amazing products at a great price. My favorites are the aged meat in the meat market area. I am trying the different sausages in the sausages section next time. Great location!
