Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr. Murphy and his staff in taking care of my sweet girl for several years and helping her cross the rainbow bridge. Unlike any other clinic I've ever been to and worth the drive for Columbia residents.

This was by far the best vets office I've ever been to. My cats were seen promptly, almost immediately after arriving. All of the assistants were so sweet and had nothing but good things to say about my fur babies which made me feel at ease. The doctor was well-knowledged and explained things in a way that was easy to understand. I do my research, so I pretty much knew what I was already looking at. This doctor didn't stray a smidge away from what I had in mind which was a nice change considering my last vets office I quite literally myself, diagnosed my own dog. That's when they were like "oh yeah, that sounds about right" and then provided treatment.... I didn't have that problem here. You can tell this doctor really loves animals which is so important in this line of work. He was confident in the answers he gave me which also made me feel more secure in my decision to keep coming here. I think he was more confident than any doctor I've seen in the past, including the emergency hospital doctors which you would think would be very educated and confident in the answers they give out. but no.
No sign of money hungry.. this was one of the less expensive options around me yet super professional, organized, knowledged, and appears to be clean.
The only thing that had me hesitant prior to coming was that you cannot come inside. It is a "drive up" kind of deal. You wait in your car while your animals are taken inside for evaluation, then the doctor comes out to go over the appt with you. I didn't want to do this, but the prices had everyone beat so I gave it a chance. I do not regret this decison at all and would highly recommend giving this place a try. I know it's nerve racking to not be able to go inside with your animals, especially pets who are very skittish, but this experience felt life changing. I know my cats are in good hands when they come here and definetely in the event that sickness comes. 10/10

I am so thankful for their kindness and expertise especially with our senior dog. We did our best to keep her living as long as possible. He was so wonderful with explaining, providing options for extending her care as well as when it was time to put her to sleep. The staff has been exceptional and most kind. They do a great job with our other dog as well. I am thankful for their care and compassion.

My dog was diagnosed with diabetes and the dr gave me his second opinion and I never left. They are so thoughtful and knowledgeable. I don’t want to go anywhere else. Ty guys

They were able to work me in quickly, so thankful for that especially with being a new patient. So informative and did a great job explaining things after her visit. 10/10 we’ll be back.

Birchwood has been so amazing through the difficult process that was end of life care for my last dog and getting my new puppy set up for care. They’ve been caring, compassionate and patient. Dr. Murphy and all of the team at Birchwood has made me feel confident and comfortable with the care my pets have received and I trust their process and recommendations. Dr. Murphy looks at the big picture, is very thorough and bases care decisions on that versus the snap judgement and I couldn’t be more appreciative for that. Thank you for giving me that peace of mind with my babies!

They not only accepted us as new patients but got us in the next day! We had a check up on our sweet adopted kitty Hazel. The Vet (apologies I forgot his name) he was extremely knowledgeable, very kind, and so sweet to our Hazel. The price was extremely reasonable. We found our new Vet!

I took my cat to Birchwood to get vetted so I could adopt another cat. My previous vet's office was bought out by a corporation, which is what brought me to Birchwood. I was very happy with my visit. The staff and Dr. Murphy were so kind and helpful throughout the whole process. Dr. Murphy did a fantastic job of explaining what was found during the visit, explaining options, and answering questions. I will definitely bring my pets here from now on and will be recommending Birchwood to friends and family!

These guys have always done great job for me. When my dog needed an emergency surgery and emergency vet was going to try to break my wallet. They performed the surgery at a fair price and took amazing care of my dog. Highly recommended.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Doctor came out and explained what was going on with my precious dog. And even answered other questions regarding my other 2 adopted dogs. He gave me very honest opinions on what to and where to go. He is very honest and my dog is never afraid of going to them.

Always excellent care for the cats, and a knowledgeable vet and staff. They are exceptionally gentle and respectful with the animals. My first choice for my cats anytime they need medical care.
