Such an incredible location right between Landrum and Tryon with amazing farm views. The animals were so much fun to watch - horses, chickens, cattle, deer, turkeys and the ever present ground hogs. The owners are very kind and interesting. Perfect place to stay for a wedding that had events in both Landrum and Tryon!

My husband, Pomeranian & I have stayed at both cute little 'cottages' over 10 years and could NOT enjoy it more!! Barbara is a dynamo in all that she accomplishes. Her attention to detail inside, food-wise was wonderful (GREAT blueberry muffins & coffee selection!), the grounds & animals are AWESOME (love the Highland Cows!!). We appreciated her kindness in remembering us from the past.
I don't know how Barbara does it!! We'll definitely be back again!

It's been my 5th time staying at Barking Fox Farm with my pups. Great dog friendly quiet place, perfect for winding down. Barbara always is such a great host, always has coffee, some breakfast cake, eggs from her own farm and a bottle of wine and even dog treats for the pups waiting for us. We will be back :-)

The Barking Fox Farm is exactly as presented and I expected. It is a lovely, peaceful, and naturally lively " home away from home".... a wonderful visit. Your hostess, Barbara, is engaging and a pleasure to meet. She is aware and cares about your needs. The home we stayed in was fresh, clean, well appointed, which was no surprise after speaking with her on the phone when making the reservation. My husband and I look forward to the pleasure of visiting this most special Farm and guesthouse again soon.Best,Lee Bryant

We had such a wonderful stay at the farm in the Laurel Cottage. It was welcoming, clean, and memorable. We felt appreciated as guests with dogs (at no extra charge!!), and our dogs enjoyed the space to roam. The ambiance of the countryside was relaxing, and there was a sense of peace. We arrived a bit late at night to begin our four-day stay, but we were welcomed as family and escorted to the cottage by the owner Barbara. All the lights in the cottage were on, and she showed us around the place and then invited us to watch while she brought the horses in from the pasture. She corralled them and put them in their stalls; we got introduced and gave them some petting. She gave them some treats, and it was a nifty delight! The Laurel cottage was clean, the furnishings were beautiful antiques, and the kitchen was gorgeous. There was coffee, tea, and sugar, and if we needed it, she offered to get us some milk for our coffee. There was a bottle of wine and a loaf of blueberry bread on the counter. If that was not enough, there were fresh eggs (from her chickens) and butter for the morning in the refrigerator. There was even a bowl of treats for our fur babies to enjoy. The cottage was clean and delightful. There are good-sized rooms, plenty of towels, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, hangers, soap, and shampoo, and they are very well maintained. The Laurel cottage was attached to another cottage called the LadyBug. We peeked in the windows the following day, which also was super cute, clean, and well-maintained, just a little smaller than ours, the Laurel. The cottages are next to the barn/stable area, and these were also clean and well kept. There is absolutely no "animal" scent. There are several fantastic seating areas with garden beds to walk and enjoy the views throughout the property. We loved the morning time to walk our dogs, have coffee, and enjoy the views of the countryside. The flowers were in full bloom; the horses were in the pastures, the cute small cows were at the watering trough; and it was as if we had stepped into a countryside painting. The spirit of the farm is truly relaxing and beautiful. We have family in the area, so we will certainly be back to enjoy the serenity of the barking fox farm and Barbara's hospitality!Thank you Barbara & her family.

Beautiful and peaceful property. The owner, Barbara, was very kind. She welcomed us with blueberry bread and fresh eggs and a bottle of wine. However, our unit (butterfly cottage) was dusty, floors were dirty, and the towels did not smell clean and fresh. The unit can use a deep cleaning.

From the moment we turned into the driveway of Barking Fox Farm we felt like we were in heaven. In fact, that's what we texted our kids: "We've arrived. In heaven." The peaceful beauty of the farm is unsurpassed. The sweet retired horses, the adorable Scottish Highland Cows, and the frisky pups. Our cottage was perfect for our long weekend. It is comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring the area. It's near downtown Landrum, downtown Tryon, FENCE, and a short drive to TIEC. We were warmly greeted by Barbara who had a bottle of our favorite wine, coffee for brewing, and a fresh crumb cake waiting in our cottage. She provided fresh eggs from her hens for our breakfast, which was an especially wonderful treat! We highly recommend Barking Fox Farm B&B... oh! and our dog LOVED it too. He also thought he was in heaven. Thank you, Barbara!

Barking Fox Farm has all the amenities you could ask for, only to be matched by its beauty and peace. A full kitchen, cathedral ceilings, gorgeous antiques and artwork, coordinated with colors and themes only a true artist could capture. Your host has a genius in her ability to make you comfortable and happy. I slept better here than in my own home. I came for Christmas with my 93 year old mother we each had a cottage for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. To our delight, the place was actually decorated for Christmas! My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

September 27,2021I've stayed here several times and enjoy it more with every visit. I'm so glad there is a beautiful (inside and outside), comfortable, very reasonably priced, dog-friendly place to stay. Ohhhh, and did I say quiet? It's so peaceful. There is so much to do in the area, yet, I usually find myself chilling on the porch looking at animals, the green pastures, and reading, rather than hiking and exploring.....next time. That said, Barbara(the owner), has always been such a welcoming and accommodating host. I couldn't ask for a better stay! See you again.

A wonderful stay in a serene setting - something beautiful to look at out every window! Loved the very comfortable and quiet Ladybug Cottage & front porch. It was great to meet Barb & all of her 4-legged friends! I could have stayed many more days & will definitely be back.

We got a chance to stay with Barbara at her beautiful farm. The property is gorgeous with magical wildlife that we were able to view daily. We got to spend some time with Barbara and her son Billy. They are a fabulous family with a fabulous property. Close to both Landrum and Tryon. Wonderful location!

If you are looking for true R&R&R, rest, relaxation and refreshment getaway, then the Barking Fox Farm in Landrum, SC needs to be your next destination. The views from the covered porch and wildlife, including turkey and deer, are second to none. The wildlife is in the same pastures as the horses on the farm. The horses are no farther away than 15' from the porch! I do suggest you drag yourself away though, and check out Landrum, a sleepy little town, with quaint shops and great restaurants. Travel a little farther north and check out Hendersonville and Asheville, you won't be sorry, and I bet you might even think about moving to this area. Thank you Barbara for make our Anniversary celebration most memorable. This was a our second time at the Barking Fox Farm, and I know we'll be back again!!
