Efficient, Honest, Accurate and Fair. These are words that come to mind when I think of my experience with KMS Auto repair. I needed breaks and rotors on the front and rear of my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. I also needed the steering angle sensor replaced as it had gone bad and was preventing me from using cruse control and throwing a bunch of errors in the computer system. 5 hours and a set of new parts in installed and my truck rides good as new! Pricing is fair when factoring in man hours + parts acquisition, and installation it total out just under $1,700 and I believe that is a fair rate as I didn’t have to do anything other than drop the truck off and pick it up the next day. I also appreciate the detailed invoice showing every part purchased for my vehicle and the amount of hours per task. Everyone there is very knowledgeable about their job and the vehicles that they service, KMS has a great crew there and I’m thankful to have had them work on my truck! If I have need for an automotive technician in the future KMS is where I’ll be going to ??

Had to bring car back for repairs two days back to back for same repair got charged twice they have younger guys doing the mechanical work who are not qualified or skilled and very overpriced. To answer Steve’s reply I came in shop to get wheel bearings replaced on front side he mentioned rust and the bearings were bad and cvs axles had a leak and also needed repair. After repair was made consequently cost 1100 dollars he told me car was good to go and eventually I should look into getting brakes and rotors replaced down the line but for now everything is good . I picked up car drove around town to my Mother’s house picked some groceries up for her. I probably went 10 miles. In the morning I drove car 20 miles to work because I work in Monroe towards the end of my journey I noticed a disturbing sound of metal against metal and the car also shook when I braked I was 2 mins away from my job came to a stop light after light turned green car refused to drive forward but would go in reverse because a brake caliper came loose. It cost me being late for work messing up my perfect attendance and the tow back to his shop cost me 140 dollars, along with the aggravation and embarrassment of the whole situation. I was told by tow truck driver that brake caliper came loose or the problem was initially overlooked by the younger guys who work in his shop. So in my opinion which I have the right to have Steve should of covered the tow and the 600 more dollars paid to him to now put rotors and brakes on the front only one brake caliper came off in my travel to work but what you do on one side of vehicle it’s necessary to do on the other side. The only thing Steve mentioned that was true yes car may have been in an accident car facts says it was not but who knows I just purchased the car one owner no accidents reported but his shabby work caused brake caliper to come undone which damaged the rotor and brakes on passenger side front. After the vehicle was towed to his shop I called to see what went wrong my question wasn’t answered he just quoted another price of 600 dollars to fix the problem. When I told him I’d wait and go another route cause I would of thought there would be no charge cause his shabby work caused my very bad experience Steve responded that the car was already apart and I said just go ahead and do it I didn’t know until I got there after work what was done realistically he should have called me told me what happened with the truth and told me how much it was going to cost me. 1700 dollars total on a 2009 Honda that I bought to drive back and forth to work. A work car my opinion is that he’s overpriced and charged his not knowing customers substantial amounts of money to furnish his lifestyle. Than Steve had the nerve to call me about my initial review.

Beware. I went to KMS to have work done on my Mercedes as they claimed to be experts and use the highest quality materials and team members. I do not trust them and will not go here again. After a getting an oil change here ($180), I had an oil leak and brought it back for a diagnosis, they said I needed to replace an oil line to my turbo and quoted additional fees and parts.I took it to another mechanic and they found the following:-They re-used a crush washer which caused an oil leak. This is a no-no.-Used an STP filter (made in China) instead of the Mann Oil Filter required.New mechanic had to do a new oil change to replace the filter which was $140.I asked Steve to refund the oil change and he said no but I could come back for my next oil change and he'd take care of me... no thanks! After some back and forth, I did get the $200 diagnosis fee refunded because that was caused by the crush washer. If I hadn't taken it to another shop I would have paid that and labor on a new oil line! Thankfully I went for a 2nd opinion. I did not get the oil change refunded and had to pay another shop to do another. The other shop also said those STP oil filters have caused other AMG engines to blow from insufficient oil flow. An AMG engine is $20K+

Way too expensive. Everytime you call about a problem with your car the owner wants to talk about extra things that they have to order which will increase the price. I really wish Lancaster had another dealership aside from Phil that was honest and up front these guys are way too expensive.

2016 I took a truck in for a oil leak. Asked for it to be fixed the, go pick up the truck still leaking after paying $800Take the truck back expecting the owner to make it right, nope he said it was something else, second time it was fixed I paid again to have the oil leak stopped. Nope Still leakingThird time he bills me I complain how you going to charge me 3 times for a oil leak I'm telling you to fixHe cut the price but you have to pay to get your keys back so I did and I've not been back since 2016 and i will never go back and frequently recommend people not to go here.It ended up costing me more money and going nearly 3 weeks of time with out my truck. Not a place give your business to.This was in 2016 I haven't forgotten. The cost of doing bad business is bad word of mouth.

The team at KMS always does great work and we won't use anyone else for our vehicles. What's so different about KMS that would make us drive 35 minutes each way to use them, even for oil changes? They are honest and trustworthy. We have three older cars and a late model Jeep. KMS maintains and fixes them as needed, keeping us running on down the road. They tell us what needs fixed now and what can wait or is not needed. They even provide advice for our out of state parents cars to help verify/counter what their local dealer is asking to do. In short, I highly recommend KMS and encourage you to visit Steve and the team for your auto repair and maintenance.Services: Engine repair
