Will not go back , very unfriendly . The owner is also rude when selling at discount on River road and is annoyed if you use a credit card . It would be worth it to drive further for kinder service .

SUPER UNWELCOMING! Not the first time I have been in, but it will absolutely be the last. Most unwelcoming staff I have run across in a long long time. Barely a welcome or acknowledgement you are in the store. Do not expect a "may I help you". I have made purchases (one large) from them in the past (very friendly when they realized I was going to make a purchase) , but will certainly go elsewhere now. I thought maybe the stress of the move to Freshfields was the issue the first couple of times I was in, but I see now the "I can't be bothered" attitude is the order of the day. They have a beautiful selection of home decor and a rather captive audience on the island, so I suppose the combination has worked in the past. I will go where my business is appreciated and it is clearly not here.

Love Aubergine! I'm thrilled with all three of my bedrooms and draperies and pillows in my living room. Grace did a fantastic job with my whole house. Her talent is amazing and her production team really produce great products. I love that you can go into her beautiful shop and pick out the fabrics and have them made asap! Her shop has the best home decor items ever! Her pricing for custom work is very fair!

I have worked with Grace at Aubergine since 2008. She made excellent suggestions and helped me decorate my Shipwatch Villa. I am working with Grace to redecorate my master bedroom, master bathroom, sunroom and guest bedroom at my home on Kiawah Island. Grace and her team at Aubergine have been so delightful to work with! They are easy to talk with, they understand my style and offer great suggestions. Her selection of fabrics, furniture and accessories is top-notch and reasonably priced. I have found several beautiful items right out of her immaculately decorated showroom including a huge pier mirror, capiz shell end table, lamps, art and other accessories. Regarding items that I researched on my own and found online, Grace was able to order for me at a LOWER PRICE than I would have paid online! Grace has been patient with me in selecting fabrics for bedding, pillows and window treatments and has researched to find fabrics at the lowest price. I whole-heartedly recommend Aubergine for interior design, custom bedding and window treatments as well as special home decor and unique gifts at a great price.

Aubergine Home is a truly elegant store. Grace, the owner, is amazing. I have purchased multiple items from her throughout the years. She recently designed my bedroom linens. I purchased an Irish Linen Duvet coverlet and custom pillow shams, which are soothing and sophisticated. Grace is talented at listening to her customers and building a custom design with their goals and visions. What's even more impressive is that Grace did this from states away; I live halfway across the country! I love visiting her storefront every time I am on the island and look forward to going back this summer.

For ten years now I have been working with Grace and Joan at Aubergine and they have helped transform my house into a home. Patience is a good word to describe both ladies because I've moved slowly through these years decorating one room at a time. (Time to start over again Ha.) Grace and Joan will get as involved as you wish or will go out of their way to help you do it yourself with suggestions and guidance to keep you from making what could be costly mistakes. When I go into Aubergine I always feel at home, like I'm visiting with family. The store has an ambiance that is inviting. I often come in just to say hi and see what's new (there is always something new). If you have not stopped by Aubergine, treat yourself to a beautiful store and wonderful people. If you are on the hunt for something special and/or specific and Grace doesn't have what you want, she will find it for you! Oh and prices are very reasonable!! Grace is passionate about her work, its evident in everything she does... for her staff, her clients and the community.

Aubergine Home is one of my first stops when I visit Kiawah Island. Grace is one of the finest designers I have experienced working with. The fit and finish of her work is impeccable. You will also find her pricing fair. As a true professional she makes the process of decorating a delight. Each project she has helped me with from my daughters dorm room, to our villa on Kiawah, and my personal home in Arkansas have all exceeded my expectations.

I’ve shopped at Aubergine for 10 years, and they have been creative, professional, caring and attentive. I’ve had bedding made for my homes in Kiawah and New York, and I’m always impressed with the knowledge, selection and quality of the work. The rugs, lamps, pillows and table settings are the highest quality at the best prices! Most recently I bought 2 upholstered sofas from Aubergine, and the selection, price, fabrics and workmanship were extraordinary. The items on display in the shop are attractive, appealing and fashionable-I always find something I love. I’ve worked with decorators in New York and Charleston and Grace’s ideas, fabrics and prices surpass anything I’ve known.

A little over a year ago we decided to redecorate our small cottage on Kiawah. I saw the Aubergine shop right outside the main gate and decided to give them a try. I was first impressed by their beautiful store and all the fabrics they have in stock. Having their workroom so close allows them to make items quickly. Grace was so pleasant and easy to talk to. She listened to my ideas and made many suggestions. Our cottage is beautiful with new bedding, rugs and furniture that Grace ordered or had made for us. I would recommend Grace and her staff at Aubergine to anyone looking to decorate with taste and at a reasonable price.

Grace beautifully and tastefully transformed our Kiawah Island house! She took a vision we could only vaguely articulate and created our dream all the while making it look effortless. Her progress was swift and within budget. We were off-island for the majority of the remodel and she kept everything on schedule. We couldn't be more pleased with the results!
