Our daughter has lived in West Ashley less than a month and four different packages are “missing” so far. USPS says they are delivered but the packages have never been found-ridiculous.

While you need to be prepared to wait a long time in line, you will be well taken care of. Drew, referred to by his colleague as the guru of the post office, took excellent care of us. We came in search of a package that we feared had gotten lost in the mail and he searched high and low for it until he found it. Super grateful! While in line, we observed the staff patiently address the unique needs of each costumer. Hard working and thorough. Much respect.

THEY CLOSE FOR AN HOUR AND HALF FOR LUNCH!!! Yes, you read that right. An essential service locks the doors from 1:00-2:30 everyday. Then they open the doors and act like the line of people waiting are an inconvenience. Just sucks that this is what we HAVE to deal with to use the post office.

The service from the post office on johns island is absolutely terrible. They just stuff things into the mailbox bending parcels that aren't supposed to be bent. If there is any minor inconvenience, they wont deliver. I had a package coming, but since my gate was closed at 7:52 am they didn't even attempt to walk 100ft to my door to knock on it. I was home, they didn't even honk the horn. If any of the drivers have to get out of the mail van, they would rather write the failure to deliver slip than make the attempt. This is the laziest branch ever and I'm going to be making a complaint to the regional office.

The worst experience moving back on John's Island is the obvious. For once I have a decent mail carrier. But, the post office itself is good for losing important mail. Mostly legal documents.

Unfortunately Google only allows 1 star as its lowest review. If this was a real business and actually had to run a profitable operation they would have gone belly up years ago. Dysfunctional is the one word the describes this place.

The absolute worst post office in the Charleston area. Besides the thirty minute to one hour wait times, the workers simply do not follow through on what's promised with online services. This isn't from one experience, this is after several attempts in which none worked as described. In fact, the complete opposite of what I requested was done. When I show up expecting what email confirmations and documents tell me to expect, they shift blame and shirk responsibility. Unfortunately, Johns Island is stuck with this very poorly managed government service.

I read complaints all the time about the Johns Island PO but up until today I haven't had a negative experience. Of course it happens with my kids graduation announcements!! I saw the package was delivered on 5/7 & was patient because I had heard they were short staffed. Well I received a damaged box with one of their announcements missing from the box and the other one was damaged on the ends.

I'm unable to travel to my mailbox daily as I'm disabled. I constantly find the mail of other locals in my box, as well as the carrier dropping boxes on the ground by my mailbox. My last 'delivery' was stolen. I have one expected to arrive today and am anxious to see how this one is handled. Update to come.

Still haven’t received this package! There was no weather or emergency situation, Other than the incompetence of this outrageous USPS location. Someone send this place help asap!! Place deserves a federal lawsuit with all the theft and complaints.

They don't answer the phone. I called at least thirty times in one day and no one answered trying to locate a package that they claimed was delivered. :(
My true rating is ZERO stars.

Writing this to help the community to take out the trash at John's island post office. I was a victim of mail theft locally and have been verbally harassed by a female carrier who I've also witnessed vaping on the job putting people at risk if she is vaping illegalsubstances. And based on other reviews I am seeing here that are similar. Please be aware that the only resolution is to band together and write to congress about what is happening here in our community, and to flood the emails of the Postal Master General office at Washington DC headquarters and most importantly email email your missing packages and mail that you knowaren't missing but stolen to the Oig postal service hotline nothing will get resolved by the SC postal corporate office in Columbia. I was told by a member of management at SC postal headquarters that no one monitors these reviews because they can't prove that all of us who are victims are real or even credible!!! Do not put with the generic emails you get from the post master and his supervisor. They brushed my actual stolen mail off as sloppy mail service that was probably accidentally put in another residents mailbox and that was probably just thrown away. Do not waste your time with the postal inspector they are corrupt like the postal workers. Know the differences between the offices. The Oig postal services is a Federal law enforcement agency that is separate from the Postal service and postal inspector offices. The postal inspector office will brush your complaints off because they are in the business of protecting their own. Know the truth that my complaints were brushed off for weeks by post master at John's island and the postal inspector and was only investigated by the Oig...this speaks volumes the same information sent to postal services who are supposed to be protecting our mail and inspector services don't operate with the same integrity and lawfully as the Oig hotline and agents.
