My puppy absolutely loves going there. Everybody is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also helped me when it was time to say goodbye to my 17 year old cat who I took in. They're were very compassionate for the suffering she was going through. 10/10 would recommend.

We were so happy to find such a caring vet. I love that we were taken right in and didn't have to wait. I also loved the amount of time the staff spent with us. It also says a lot when our cat seems comfortable .. which she did.

We love Grand Oaks Animal Hospital. We lived in West Ashley, but chose to keep Grand Oaks as our primary after moving to Summerville. It is just a special place. We have not see another vet clinic with a better group of people who are all top notch. The advice of the Dr. He does not just advise everything under the sun just to cover his butt. Our pets do not live forever, but when they do finally climb the rainbow bridge, we will know that we we gave them the greatest balance of treatment vs. quality of life.

Having only had one visit to judge from, mind you, I am very pleased so far. It's important to me to have Jake's care be steady and continuing his care with Dr Lerma is a critical part of that.
It was nice to not be stuck in a waiting room.
It was nice to have time with the vet to talk at length vs a more "hi, how are ya" and out the door approach (I can get that at my dentist :-) ) Everyone's friendly, welcoming, positive attitude.

We trust Grand Oaks completely and have been so thankful for their care of our beau, Tonka. Dr. Leggett is always willing to take time with us and answer our questions honestly and thoughtfully. The staff is so kind and efficient, Tonka gets excited when we pull into the parking lot. Dr. Leggett's honesty and discussions of symptoms/causes/options is something we grealy appreciate. Shelby and Hope are consistently bringing great joy to the office and made our tough visit yesterday better. They are knowledgeable and kind. I did not take a picture at the office, but got one shortly after when we got him a pup cup.

My family has been entrusting the care of our seven pets to Grand Oaks Animal Hospital for some time. Recently, we brought two of our dogs in for their annual exams, and we expressed concern about our Husky, Asher, who had been experiencing vomiting for several days. Given that bloodwork was required for heartworm testing, we requested a comprehensive blood panel for Asher to investigate further.
To date, we have not received any results from the bloodwork. We were advised to administer medication for stomach acidity for a week, which unfortunately had little effect. After the week had passed, I inquired about the results, only to be told that only the heartworm test had been conducted, despite our request for a full panel. I would like to emphasize that Asher had a history of a severe heartworm infection, and his ongoing vomiting should have been a red flag.
Tragically, on the day we learned there had been no full bloodwork analysis, Asher's condition deteriorated rapidly, and he stopped eating. We immediately sought emergency care at the Charleston Referral Center, where they diagnosed him with a high fever, a liver infection, and toxins in his bloodstream. Unfortunately, Asher passed away overnight.
I strongly believe that appropriate and timely care at Grand Oaks Animal Hospital could have prevented this outcome. The lack of proper communication, failure to perform necessary tests, and focus on routine procedures such as vaccinations, without fully informing us, contributed to the tragic loss of our beloved Asher. Furthermore, when we needed urgent care, there were no appointments available. They are not prepared to take you in and work after hours for an emergency.
We are devastated by this loss and feel compelled to share our experience to prevent this from happening to others. While the hospital may focus on wellness, it is clear that when it comes to serious medical issues, the care provided was far from adequate.

Always appreciate the level of care we receive at each visit. I also appreciate that when I call someone answers the phone and I don't have to press 2 to schedule an appointment. When we lost one of our dogs, we got the most thoughtful card. The entire staff wrote something sweet and signed their names. Everyone loves their job. It's evident in their care of animals and interactions with pet owners.

We were at another vet in town, and my dog’s health issues were never addressed. She was just put on allergy medicine without ever trying to find the cause, or noticing that she needed other medical treatment. The very first visit here these things were addressed and now, three weeks later, she is in a much healthier place.

Grateful to the the staff and Dr. Leggett. They always make time to provide quality care for my babies. I appreciate the time that Dr. Leggett spends talking with me to make sure I understand everything instead of rushing me out the door with medications like other places have done in the past. The staff at Grand Oaks is great about fitting us in and addresses all of my concerns. Grateful for thier care and attention to my pups. They make time for us and genuinely care about the well being of animals.
