The tellers are all very nice . I have always had a friendly experience when I go there. I have never had any issues with banking there.

This South State Bank location on Savannah Highway in West Ashley is a great place to do your banking as they are well equipped and prepare for just about any bank transaction no matter how big or minor. The staff here is extremely accommodating and patient and will go out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of and are able to accomplish your banking goals. This is a good bank to work with.

I forget about South State Bank located near Main Rd and Hwy 17 South and in the same shopping area as the Publix!! This is actually a great spot to access their convenient ATM for Cash on the fly!!my new go to ATM 5 Stars !

Money was stolen using our debit card. We have had several friends have the same thing happen to them in the last year .Our friends' banks, Bank of America and Wells Fargo replaced their money within 24 hours .We immediately reported the theft to Southstate. We we're told it would take 7 DAYS to put our money back .It's now been 7 days and our money has not been replaced. Our money was transferred to Africa using a European money transfer company. It should have never been allowed past their theft protection!!!!!! Hoping this post will finally get my money back . What if I were someone who needed that $600 to live?

When I lived on the other end of Johns Island, this was "my bank" (except for my safety deposit box). In and out without difficulty, whether going inside, to the drive up or to the ATM (also a drive up). Friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located at Savannah Highway and Main Road up at the Savannah Highway side of this "Publix" shopping center.

Just about a football fields length from the corners of Savannah Hwy and Main sits a large South State Bank. Double the size of the prior three I have transacted in, but a necessary size. Cars were pulling in and out of the parking lot, people filing in and out, three tellers to absorb it all. A simple withdrawal is no cause for an in-depth analysis and review but I can tell you this. The surfaces of all counters and tables are absolutely gorgeous. Thick tan stone, cool to the touch and attractive to the eye. Thick rugs adorn the floor, no cheap industrial carpeting here. Classy looking operation.

ive banked with south state since they began this garbage company a few years ago. First Federal was much better and I was very happy with them. South state has screwed my account up over 20 times and i am finished banking with them. They are trash and when i get back to the Carolinas (only states that carries this trashy bank), i am pulling all of my money out and putting it in my Navy Federal account. I just tried to speak with someone about discrepancies with my account and they were rude, bitter jerks. screw south state wannabe bank

This bank is close to my home and I frequently use it- in fact, it was the account I opened just after moving to Charleston a few years ago. The staff is always super nice and they know me by name and ask me how I'm doing. They also have a drive through window for deposits as well as a drive-up ATM. Sometimes the bank can get busy at times, but I've never had a bad experience (A lot of customers come from Ravenel and Johns Island for this bank). This location doesn't offer Saturday banking, so if you need that you'll have to drive further toward Charleston to another South State Bank.
